Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 1011: Chapter 422: The Might of God

Erin lifted her hand from the Eternal Lake, stepped back half a pace, and handed the battlefield over to Wu Chang.

The Hel in front of her, in terms of raw strength, was close to what Erin had been when she had just ascended to a Powerful Angel. She knew Wu Chang’s strength—he might have a hard time winning, but he wouldn’t suffer a major loss—so she stayed to the side to support.

Erin was calm about Wu Chang stepping in, but He Yi beside them was watching with a deep frown.

Even though he hadn’t grasped any Divinity and hadn’t undergone Awakening of the Power of Root, by combat intuition alone he could tell that the Hel before them was nothing like Garm, who’d been blocking the doorway.

Facing Garm, all he’d felt was pressure—he’d judged that Garm had the Ability to threaten his Life, and if he went all out, relying on the Tyrant’s performance, he might not be unable to fight it.

But standing before Hel, he couldn’t gauge her depth at all; it was like being cast into endless darkness, unable to distinguish any shape around him.

If this exploration of Collette City had been led by him and Wu Zhuoqun, then let alone defeating Hel—even if he stayed behind to hold her off and buy time for everyone else to retreat, he might not be able to manage it.

He could be sure that if he fought Hel, he would definitely die, and he might not even truly wound her before his Death.

Facing a monster like Hel, for the first time in his life he felt powerless. He was shocked that, so close to the Underground Shelter, such a powerful monster was actually hiding.

Even more shocking was that, in the face of Hel, Wu Chang had actually stopped Erin and wanted to go himself.

How did he even dare?

Just a month ago, this kid had still been his punching bag.

Over the internal channel he pressed He Yun, trying to get her to stop Wu Chang from doing something stupid, but He Yun’s reply was that there was no need to worry—Wu Chang would have a way.

He Yi looked at Erin, then at his own little sister, and finally at Wu Chang’s relaxed expression, sinking into deep self-doubt.

What the hell, among everyone present, am I seriously the only one worrying about that kid’s safety?

Or did I miss something important while I was exploring the surface and testing Mecha performance?

While He Yi wore a completely baffled look, Wu Chang had already stepped out of the crowd and come to stand before Hel.

The Hel before his eyes was, aside from Joy, the strongest enemy he’d met along the way.

From the scenes he’d seen in the resentment of Hercules and the others, the bodies used to cultivate Imaginary Divinity supposedly shouldn’t be able to exert the full strength of that Divinity. Amber, for example, had only been able to use Gaia Divinity’s Power after getting help from a Miracle Walker and defeating her Heart Demon.

But this Hel before him, judging by appearance, was clearly an Indigenous People of the Underground Shelter Plane, yet the Power fluctuations she was emitting at this moment clearly showed she had mastered all the Power of Death Divinity.

As an Indigenous People who had gained Divine Power, Hel’s existence was similar to that of the Hati Divinity who had illegally crossed into the Desolate Realm, and Erin, who had grown up in the Desolate Realm.

Which meant that, in the Underground Shelter Plane, when Hel used Divine Power, she wouldn’t be restricted by the Rules of the Middle Layer and could fully unleash her Power.

This was also the first time Wu Chang had faced a fully complete God, and even though he possessed Blasphemer, he was still a bit nervous inside.

But the reason he wanted to face Hel alone was, first, because of the resentment inside her, second, because of the vast mass of vengeful spirits connected to her, and finally, to test his true strength before the World Dungeon.

Ordinary dungeon bosses in the Desolate Realm could no longer meet his needs; Hel’s appearance was perfectly timed.

He was currently using his true body, and by the time he walked up to Hel, he had already entered Abyssal Python Transformation, raising his Energy Attribute to 355 points.

Then he started taking advantage of Hel’s inattention to set up Deep Water Bite around them.

By absorbing Source of the Deep Sea, both of his Deep Sea Alien Transformation forms had been enhanced; the boost to Abyssal Python was that Deep Water Bite had been turned into Divine Damage.

In myth, Hel is Jormungandr’s sister, and Jormungandr’s venom can fill the entire ocean—clearly a master of poison.

Since Hel was Jormungandr’s sister, he was worried mere toxins wouldn’t be enough against her, so he used Chaos Authority at the same time.

As before, while Chaos Authority was still accumulating enough damage, it first had a subtle, imperceptible influence, and when that influence grew deep enough, he would then summon the Chaos Rune and start the sprint.

The Power exerted by Chaos Authority was linked to Wu Chang’s Energy Attribute; with his Energy now at 355 points, he was no weaker than many Lower Level Gods, and the Chaos Authority he released had remarkable effect.

Hel had just come under the influence of Chaos Authority when her already turbid eyes turned completely blood-red; what little reason she had was devoured by Chaos, her Divinity flashed, and she swung her sword at Wu Chang.

The two Longswords in Hel’s hands whipped through the air, slashing toward Wu Chang.

All experimental bodies used to cultivate Imaginary Divinity had undergone harsh training from childhood, battles akin to raising gu through mutual slaughter.

Though Hel had fallen into Chaos, her Swordsmanship was still brutally sharp, aimed straight at vital points.

The blade edges carried a pale breath of Divinity, that Divinity full of stillness and withering; the moment you were touched by it, you would be like the flowers planted in the surface soil—instantly rotting away.

Wu Chang didn’t dare take it head-on. He opened his Spatial Domain and short-distance teleported behind Hel.

Hel reacted extremely fast; the off-hand sword in her left hand changed direction and cut back toward Wu Chang. Wu Chang was ready and again short-distance teleported to the empty space on Hel’s left.

Hel was fighting purely on instinct. She swung her twin swords, chasing Wu Chang’s traces and slashing in succession, forcing Wu Chang to use short-distance teleport five times in a row before her Swordsmanship finally revealed the slightest opening.
