Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 120: Chapter 115: City of Miracles

”Killed a dance mannequin, gained 20 experience points.”

”Player Level differs greatly from Dance Mannequin Level, experience points doubled.”

Staring at the notification in front of him, Wu Chang felt a sense of unreality.

When did the Abyssal Game start compensating for large level disparities?

Hasn’t the Abyssal Game always treated him like, ’since you survived this challenge, we’ll just up the intensity right away?’

Where did you hide my Abyssal Game system?

With the doubled experience, one dance mannequin now gives 40 experience points.

Keep in mind, even clearing a B-Level dungeon rewards merely 2000 experience points as a base reward.

By calculation, isn’t killing 50 small monsters equivalent to clearing a B-Level dungeon once?

Moreover, the dance mannequins he took out looked like low-level mobs.

What if it’s an elite monster or a dungeon boss, how much experience would you gain then?

No wonder there was a conspiracy theory saying that during the Sakura Island dungeon’s uncontrolled outbreak, the delay wasn’t due to neglect but a deliberate choice.

Now it seems very likely, that players involved found grinding enjoyable and wanted the dungeon to last longer.

Sword Star was eager to achieve a breakthrough and, after severely injuring one dance mannequin, aimed for another target.

Wu Chang rubbed his hands and decided to take on the dirty work.

After dealing with four dance mannequins, the frenzied dancing old man halted, and in a semi-exhausted state, headed back to the community with the aid of his wife.

Sword Star glanced at the dance mannequins on the ground and casually asked, ”All taken care of?”

Wu Chang, feeling a bit guilty, nodded.

Sword Star guessed Wu Chang’s thoughts and said with a smile:

”When the Player Level exceeds the Erosion Dungeon, the kill rewards become very low, so don’t worry about taking my experience.”

”On the contrary, you should kill more while your level is low and rewards are high. Taking the risk to enter the Erosion Dungeon is what you deserve, and the bureau often calls this ’the brave’s reward.’”

Unexpectedly, Sword Star deliberately left low-health mobs for him to finish.

He felt deeply moved, recalling how he saved Sword Star in Peaceful Town was not in vain.

Though they organized the dance mannequins here, similar convoys appeared simultaneously in multiple areas according to information from other Management Bureau members.

Among eight squads, four encountered dance mannequins.

Drone aerial views revealed at least 10 similar convoys that were not intercepted.

These colorful buses slowly moved in the same direction, with hundreds of people dancing alongside them under the mannequins’ lead.

The situation was exceptionally eerie.

In addition to colorful buses, other forms of mannequins could be seen.

Some held small tour flags or organized people to ride...

Each team of mannequins led over a hundred ordinary citizens.

Upon reaching some western streets, they suddenly vanished, becoming untraceable.

It’s estimated that at least ten thousand Wanghai City citizens were abducted by mannequins.

After taking such efforts to abduct people, they certainly wouldn’t act immediately; those abducted probably weren’t in immediate life danger, but long-term outcomes were uncertain.

Someone attempted to follow a convoy to its destination, finding the convoy disappeared but unable to locate the transmission point, had to return.

Another tried to join a convoy, succeeded in boarding, entered the transmission point with the convoy, and vanished without a trace.

The Painter’s recreation of the out-of-control dungeon perfectly recorded the dungeon he experienced during the breakthrough; its internal state remained as when the Painter entered it.

This prevented the inherent grievances in the dungeon from dissipating.

Wu Chang circled around the colorful buses twice and saw two clusters representing players’ grievances on the bus. He discerned the transmission point access method but couldn’t find a chance to alert anyone due to his current identity.

He grew anxious, pacing in circles. Even during solo dungeon clears, he was never this anxious.

Fortunately, the Management Bureau was efficient; while considering their response, information about Yifu City had already arrived.

”Dungeon Name: Heart’s Desire.”

”Dungeon Type: Solo Survival Dungeon.”

”Dungeon Difficulty: B.”

”Dungeon Status: On the verge of being uncontrollable.”

”Main Task One: Survive in Yifu City for thirty days.”

”Main Task Two: Leave Yifu City.”

”Main Task Three: Investigate the hidden secrets of Yifu City.”

Dungeon ’Heart’s Desire,’ located in the Western Union, was broken through four years ago.

The dungeon backdrop is Yifu City, matching its name, and the dungeon narrative aligns with the current situation.

Yifu City, also known as the City of Miracles, possesses something called the Great Miracle. Citizens could have their heart’s desires fulfilled if their wish was pure enough and they believed strongly in the Great Miracle.

The Great Miracle, barring avoiding death or other impossible wishes, could fulfill all desires, rumored to cure illness, ward off disasters, bring wealth, and restore youth.

The Great Miracle asks for nothing in return and never demands; all citizens need is sincerity.

’Sincerity brings miracles.’ ℯ

The greatness of the Great Miracle led to the city’s development revolving around it, and its highest official is no longer the mayor but the highest harmonious entity with the Great Miracle, the Miracle Committee of Yifu City.

Every Miracle Committee member received extraordinary benefits from the Great Miracle.

They understood how to interact and realize their desires with the Great Miracle.

After controlling Yifu City, the Miracle Committee enacted radical reforms to increase citizens’ reliance on the Great Miracle, such as canceling 90% of hospitals and banning most entertainment.

The dance mannequins and colorful buses seen by Wu Chang and Sword Star were arranged by the Miracle Committee.

However, according to players’ gathered information, those involved should have been living people and not mannequins.

Receiving the Management Bureau’s intelligence, Wu Chang couldn’t help but appreciate its importance.

The Management Bureau, taking only twenty minutes, investigated the name ’Yifu City’ and found plenty of relevant intelligence, essentially establishing the entire background of the dungeon world.

It’s evident that accumulating this intelligence required many players’ lives as the price.

With intelligence support, dungeon clearing becomes much easier; had Wu Chang investigated alone, it would’ve taken him forever.

The disclosure of the dungeon world’s intelligence let Wu Chang breathe a sigh of relief, finally giving them direction.

In front of Sword Heart, he activated the Insight Talisman, pretended to survey several times, and said:

”I seem to have a spiritual light! While sneaking over, I heard those women in suits repeatedly mention a concept—integration into Yifu City.”

”To enter the transmission point, you must blend into the abducted citizens. Perhaps the key to entering without being attacked lies in the word ’integration?’”
