The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 965: Chapter 965: Hopelessly Devoted (2)

”Unless it’s the doing of Elder Madam Xie behind the scenes.” Gu Qingheng laughed, ”The Xie Family lineage has been thin because it’s been passed down through single male heirs for several generations, and also because their family rule has been not to take concubines, so the heirs have always been few and far between. Yet, this Xie Tai should be twenty-four or twenty-five by now, but he still hasn’t married...”

”Does he have some kind of issue?”

”What are you thinking about?” Gu Qingheng’s lips twitched, ”It’s because he had a fiancée once, but she died four years ago trying to save him, so...” he sighed faintly, ”At that time, he even caused a fuss about becoming a monk, and it was only Elder Madam Xie threatening to die that prevented him from renouncing the world...”

”So he’s a man of deep affection,” Yang Ruxin nodded, suddenly thinking of something, ”Gu Qingheng, if one day I’m no longer around, you remember you have to live well, okay? You’re not allowed to become a monk or seek death, and you must not refuse to marry...”

”What nonsense are you spouting?” Gu Qingheng’s face darkened, and he even raised his hand to smack her bottom.

”Where are you hitting?”

”Who asked you to talk nonsense?”

”What I’m saying is the truth, isn’t it? The deceased has passed on, but the living must live even better. That’s the only way to let the departed rest in peace...” Yang Ruxin laughed, ”However, I still hope that we can grow old together, so from now on, we both need to take good care of ourselves...”

”Anyhow, Xinxin, if you dare to leave me, I definitely won’t be able to live on alone... Anyway, by that time, you won’t be able to control what I do...” Gu Qingheng’s tone even carried a hint of showing off.

”Alright, I get it.” Yang Ruxin pinched Gu Qingheng’s ear a bit annoyed, ”Let’s not talk about this anymore.”

Gu Qingheng really did stop talking, instead, he slowly walked back with her on his back.

After a moment of silence, Yang Ruxin suddenly let out a sigh, ”If that’s the case, then I suppose Master Xie might not be a good match for Sister Xiaoxiang...”

”That’s just my guess; let’s not jump to conclusions,” Gu Qingheng laughed, ”Let’s still go ask him. If it’s only Elder Madam Xie’s idea, then there’s no need for the matchmaking visit. But if Xie Tai is also inclined, it means he’s moving on, and it might be worth a look, after all, Xie Tai has a good reputation in the jianghu...”

”In the jianghu?” Yang Ruxin’s eyes flickered. She didn’t think the jianghu Gu Qingheng was referring to was the usual jest that ’where there are people, there is a jianghu.’ If she wasn’t wrong, it should be the kind of jianghu mentioned in the wuxia novels she read before.

Gu Qingheng nodded, ”Yes, that jianghu.” He paused, ”Although the Xie Family’s residence isn’t ranked highly in the jianghu, they have a unique ancestral skill, which is repairing all kinds of damaged weapons. Because their craftsmanship is excellent and the prices fair, they have a good reputation among both the righteous and the underhanded...”

”So they’re good at forging iron.”

”Hehe...” Gu Qingheng laughed, ”Those divine weapons require more than just the ability to forge iron...”

Yang Ruxin pursed her lips, expressing neither agreement nor opposition. The ancient jianghu was different from what was called jianghu later on. She had neither seen nor experienced it, so she didn’t understand it. And she wouldn’t pretend to understand things she didn’t know.

”Big sister, brother-in-law...” Just at that moment, a figure came running towards them. It was Sanni.

”What’s the matter?” Yang Ruxin hurriedly jumped down from Gu Qingheng’s back, ”What happened?”

”The young lady from the Shen Family has come.” Sanni caught her breath a little, ”It’s the one who went to eat our pancake fruit...”
