The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

50: Chapter 50 The Temple’s TreasureHe Dingkun’s expression changed drastically. He roared at Shi Xiaoya, ”Quickly, have Liu San take some men to Liu Family Village. Tell him to guard my ancestral grave well. No one, apart from me, is allowed near it—not even the eldest or the second one.”

Shi Xiaoya immediately turned and went out to make a phone call.

He Dingkun took a deep breath before thanking Great Monk Kongyun, ”Thank you for the reminder, Great Monk. Otherwise, I really wouldn’t have thought of it.”

Great Monk Kongyun shook his head slightly, ”I was just saying. Feng Shui Arts are profound and mysterious, and the other party doesn’t play by the rules. He might not necessarily target your ancestral grave.”

”No, he definitely will,” He Dingkun explained with great certainty. ”His reliance is only on Feng Shui Arts. The only places he can use Feng Shui Arts to harm me are my office, my residence, and my ancestral grave. My office and residence have bodyguards and surveillance, so he has no chance to get close. Only my ancestral grave has no protection at all.”

”The fact that he could launch an attack silently and shatter your amulet while talking to you shows that his reliance is definitely not just Feng Shui Arts.”

”That’s true. His dharma instrument is very powerful, but those dharma instruments shouldn’t be controllable from a long distance. As long as I don’t have close contact with him, he won’t be able to use them, no matter how great his abilities are.”

”It is good that you are aware of it,” Great Monk Kongyun nodded slightly. ”I will go and bring out the treasured heirloom of Xingguo Zen Temple now. Mr. He...”

”Rest assured, the incense money will definitely satisfy you.” Seeing that Great Monk Kongyun still hadn’t committed, He Dingkun cursed inwardly before making an offer, ”At least ten million.”

Great Monk Kongyun shook his head, ”That is our treasured heirloom. The previous abbot personally performed the Consecration and enshrined it before the Buddha, blessing it day and night. In half a month, it will have been thirty years.”

”Twenty million.”

”Mr. He is a fated person. Please, this way.”

Great Monk Kongyun led He Dingkun straight to the Mahavira Hall, personally climbed onto the lotus throne, and took a Hetian jade-carved guanyin statue from the palm of Shakyamuni.

The jade quality was average; it was just ordinary white jade. The craftsmanship wasn’t exceptionally outstanding either. It could only be considered standard.

But He Dingkun was overjoyed, ”To think the temple has such a good item.”

”Mr. He is an expert. If it were someone else, let alone twenty million, even two thousand would make them hesitate.”

”That is true.” He Dingkun carefully took the white jade guanyin pendant, closed his eyes to feel it carefully for a moment, and nodded with satisfaction, ”It’s even better than that Eight Treasures peace buckle. As soon as I got it, the previous feeling of palpitations instantly vanished.”

”The treasured heirloom of the temple is naturally extraordinary, and thirty years of blessings is no joke.”

He Dingkun nodded with satisfaction, ”Great Monk, I will have Xiaoya transfer the money to you in a moment.”

”Mr. He, you are too polite. We have known each other for many years; there is no lack of trust here.”

”Let’s leave it at that for tonight. Tomorrow, I will have a good chat with you, Great Monk, about how to deal with that kid surnamed Han.”

”Monks do not get involved in the fighting and killing of the martial world. Mr. He, I only want to meet him and exchange ideas with him, to jointly explore the great path of metaphysics.”

”I understand, I understand. Exchanges inevitably involve some sparring. I will have people watch him and find an opportunity to arrange a meeting for you. Hmm, I will try to make it look like a coincidence so that the kid surnamed Han doesn’t find out about the relationship between you and me. I don’t care, but Great Monk, you are a monk, and you need to save face.”

Great Monk Kongyun cupped his hands, ”I don’t care about myself either, but I cannot let the pure reputation of the Buddha be tarnished.”

He Dingkun was very satisfied, ”Great Monk, see you tomorrow.”

He Dingkun returned to the guest room, his face darkening, ”Has Liu San set off?”

”Yes, he set off as soon as I called him. I also called the village head of Liu Family Village and asked him to help keep an eye on things first.”

”Notify me the moment there is any news.”

”Alright, Lord Kun. It is getting late, please rest.”

He Dingkun lay down. Shi Xiaoya turned off the light and slowly exited the room.

...

Han Jingyang and Liu Jing did not go home or to a hotel, but instead made do for the night in the shop. There was a bed in the shop. There was a bathroom. Although they couldn’t take a shower, it didn’t hinder their rest.

Moreover, since they had just acquired a magical reclining chair, neither of them wanted to sleep on the folding cot and fought over who would sleep on the reclining chair. As a result, Han Jingyang didn’t win against Liu Jing.

Then, not long after falling asleep, he heard Liu Jing let out a shriek in the lobby. He hurriedly ran out to check on the situation and saw Liu Jing standing there, still shaken, her face full of confusion.

Looking at the reclining chair again, he understood immediately. The blue aura inside the reclining chair was much less than before, clearly having just released a skill. In other words, Liu Jing had gotten a skill from him for free.

Thinking of this, he sighed, ”What kind of luck do you have?”

Liu Jing looked up blankly, ”What do you mean?”

Han Jingyang did not answer, ”How does it feel?”

”There is... there is something helping me press my legs. Boss, will... will there be... anything unclean?”

”You are overthinking it. This is a special effect of this chair.”

”Ah?” ”Rest assured, there are only benefits and no downsides. It’s just that you got lucky.” ”Really?”

Han Jingyang nodded, ”Taking such a big advantage of me, you won’t be able to pay it back even if you work for me for free for several decades.”

Liu Jing shyly moved closer to Han Jingyang and poked his arm, ”I can just take on a few more jobs, right? Shop assistant, driver, bodyguard, or even a nanny—anything is fine.”

Han Jingyang sighed, ”You say that lightly. Even if you do more jobs, you are still just one person.”

Speaking of which, he pointed to the reclining chair, ”Continue lying down. Consolidate the effects; don’t waste it.”

”Boss, what exactly is it for?” ”It stretches tendons and bones; it is extremely helpful for martial arts practitioners.”

Liu Jing was overjoyed and bowed repeatedly, ”Thank you, Boss. I will definitely perform well.”

Dawn broke. When Han Jingyang got up, he saw Liu Jing practicing in the lobby. To be precise, she was doing stretches.

The original Liu Jing had never practiced these things at all; she was just an ordinary person. But now, she could easily perform various splits.

When Liu Jing saw Han Jingyang, she showed off like she was presenting a treasure, performing a high kick, kicking her foot above her head and standing steadily, ”Boss, look, is it cool?”

”Very cool. How does it feel?”

”It’s very strange. When I woke up, I felt my whole body’s tendons and bones were very relaxed, as if I had grown several dozen centimeters of major tendons out of thin air.” As Liu Jing spoke, she performed a standard backflip and stood still, ”Not just the tendons, even the bones and muscles have become much more flexible. I feel like I can compare myself to those dance experts who have been practicing since childhood.”

Han Jingyang observed Liu Jing carefully and didn’t find anything unusual, but her vitality was indeed more vigorous, and her physique was more toned and beautiful.

Although the previous Liu Jing was tall, long-legged, and had top-tier looks, her temperament was slightly ordinary. The current Liu Jing, however, had a bit of a star-like aura.

What is called a star-like aura? In fact, it is the traces left by long-term training, especially the traces on the physique, which best enhance temperament. Take twins—one who has never practiced anything and one who has practiced classical dance since childhood—put them in the same clothes and have them stand there, and the difference is immediately apparent. Of course, this is only the most superficial layer of temperament; details such as speech, demeanor, gestures, walking, standing, sitting, and lying down also reveal temperament. But regardless, Liu Jing’s improvement was obvious. And it wasn’t just external benefits; the internal benefits were even greater.
