The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

49: Chapter 49 Disaster ApproachesHan Jingyang confirmed that the formation he had tinkered with was truly effective, and only then did he take the shivering Liu Jing and leave.

After leaving the graveyard, Liu Jing asked in a low voice, ”Boss, is that it?”

”Yes.”

”Can you tell me about it?”

”There’s nothing much to say. It’s just sabotage.”

”Sabotaging the Feng Shui?”

”Yes.” Having made the first move and succeeded, Han Jingyang was in a good mood and patiently explained to Liu Jing, ”You can think of Feng Shui as actual water. Feng Shui patterns are like ponds, streams, and river channels of various sizes. A good Feng Shui pattern has a gentle, stable flow and good water quality, while a bad Feng Shui pattern has turbulent, chaotic flow and extremely poor water quality.”

”Then what you just did...”

”You can understand my actions just now as opening a small breach upstream of He Dingkun’s family pond, artificially creating a drainage outlet that flows directly into the pond. Do you think that pond could be any good?”

”It’s that simple?”

”Is it simple?”

”Mm-hmm, you just dug a few holes in the ground and buried a few dharma instruments, and it didn’t even take ten minutes. Isn’t that simple?”

Han Jingyang shook his head, ”You’re mistaken there. Digging holes and burying dirt is simple, but knowing where to dig requires talent, hard work, time, heritage, and a famous teacher. All these elements are indispensable.”

He paused here, ”Let’s put it this way: even if one possesses talent, hard work, a famous teacher, and heritage, it still takes decades to master this ability.”

Liu Jing widened her eyes in surprise, ”Then, Boss, you...”

”I’m special.”

”I see,” Liu Jing said, her face filled with admiration. ”I knew you weren’t an ordinary person, Boss. Hehe, choosing to work at Jiguang Zhai was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.”

Han Jingyang smiled, ”Just don’t blame me if you regret it later.”

”Impossible, absolutely impossible,” Liu Jing denied flatly. ”Boss, what does breaking the Feng Shui of He Dingkun’s ancestral grave actually do? Does it cause financial ruin or something else?”

”Probably both,” Han Jingyang wasn’t entirely sure either; after all, he knew nothing about Feng Shui and only dared to play this game because of the compass in his hand, but he couldn’t show weakness in front of Liu Jing. ”It’s an all-encompassing drain.”

”Including... lifespan?”

When Liu Jing said the word ”lifespan,” her tone was very soft and cautious.

Because lifespan is different from other things; once it’s gone, it’s gone, and this is even more true for an old man like He Dingkun.

If one could truly reduce someone’s lifespan, doing so to He Dingkun would be tantamount to murder.

For an ordinary person, this is the most dangerous kind of behavior.

A normal person couldn’t face this matter calmly.

Including Han Jingyang.

However, thinking of the potential threat posed by being enemies with He Dingkun, he forced himself to be more cold-blooded.

There are some things one absolutely cannot do, and some things one must do, even if it means death.

It has nothing to do with right or wrong.

So he nodded slightly, ”Including lifespan, but it’s not a direct deprivation like you imagine. Rather, it manifests through accidents, illnesses, and so on. If his luck is good enough, he won’t be affected at all.”

Liu Jing breathed a sigh of relief. ”You scared me.” She patted her ample chest and changed the subject, ”Boss, what are we doing next?”

”Going back to sleep.”

...

Thousand Buddha Mountain.

Xingguo Zen Temple.

Inside a guest room.

He Dingkun, who had just fallen asleep, suddenly woke up with a start. He felt his heart beating rapidly, similar to palpitations, as if he were being targeted by an assassin.

Having been involved in violence for so many years and having countless enemies, even in his old age, He Dingkun’s intuition remained sharp.

He quietly gripped the handgun under his pillow, crept along the wall to the door, listened intently for a moment, and knocked on the door, ”Xiaoya?”

Shi Xiaoya in the outer room woke up quickly, ”Lord Kun, what is it?”

”There’s something unusual in the surroundings.”

”Unusual?” Shi Xiaoya got up and immediately turned on the computer to check the surveillance. A moment later, she shook her head, ”Lord Kun, everything is normal.”

”Are you sure?”

”Yes, this place is already hidden, and besides, there is surveillance and alarms with no blind spots. You know, Lord Kun, even a cat that breaks in cannot escape the monitoring of the intelligent system.”

He Dingkun turned on the light, took a sip of water, and frowned, ”I just feel like something is wrong. Call Great Monk Kongyun and have him come over.”

Less than five minutes later, the tall and thin monk knocked and entered. He pressed his palms together to greet He Dingkun, ”Mr. He, what are your doubts?”

He Dingkun let out a slow breath, ”I suddenly woke up just now as if an impending disaster was upon me. Great Monk, please help me see where the problem lies.”

Great Monk Kongyun squinted his eyes and looked He Dingkun up and down for a moment, then shook his head, ”I haven’t discovered anything unusual.”

”Are you sure?”

”This...”

”You’re not sure either, right?”

Great Monk Kongyun sighed, ”According to what you said, Mr. He, that young man surnamed Han has unfathomable strength and specializes in Feng Shui. Whatever he does is impossible to guard against. If it really is him acting, it’s normal that I can’t detect anything unusual.”

”Suppose, I’m just saying suppose, he wants to make a move against me, what is a good way to deal with it?”

”What I can do is very limited. Besides offering a Perpetual Light for prayer for you, Mr. He, there is only protection and blessing.”

”Do you have any powerful dharma instruments?” He Dingkun frowned and said, ”Even Han Jingyang, an unorthodox practitioner, can turn ordinary antiques into dharma instruments with such strong effects. You lot shouldn’t be any worse.”

Great Monk Kongyun sighed, ”This is also what I can’t figure out. There are indeed dharma instruments with Consecration and blessings, but bringing the dead back to life is a legendary ability. If I were to say that the dharma instruments I Consecrated could bring someone back from the dead, I wouldn’t even believe it myself. Therefore, I really can’t give you an accurate answer.”

”Really can’t?”

”Perhaps, my cultivation is not up to par?”

”Arrange the Perpetual Light and protective talismans for me. It would be best to hold another Dharma assembly. Money is not an issue.” He Dingkun realized he couldn’t get an accurate answer from Great Monk Kongyun, so he had to go through the motions.

Prayer with the Perpetual Light, blessings from the Dharma assembly, and protective talismans to save his life.

Although the effects were not as immediate as Han Jingyang’s dharma instruments, they were still genuinely effective.

Otherwise, a ruthless warlord like He Dingkun wouldn’t be wasting his time here.

Especially since the protective talisman that inexplicably cracked yesterday afternoon made him even more convinced that Great Monk Kongyun also had real ability.

Great Monk Kongyun naturally wouldn’t refuse the donor’s request. He nodded and then said, ”When there is time, I would like to meet that Mr. Han Jingyang and see him in person; perhaps I might discover something.”

He Dingkun nodded, ”I will arrange it.”

Speaking of this, he thought for a moment and asked, ”Great Monk, do you know any Great Monks with deeper cultivation?”

”Great Monk” is actually an honorific, similar to ”High Monk,” but it is more colloquial, so it is used this way now.

Great Monk Kongyun shook his head, ”I don’t know. Cultivation has no set numbers or standards, and there is no way to measure or compare it, so I really don’t know which fellow practitioner has deeper cultivation. However, I want to say one thing: if that Mr. Han Jingyang is a Feng Shui Master, if he really wants to make a move, he will inevitably start from the aspect of Feng Shui.”

He Dingkun frowned and thought for a moment, then his expression suddenly changed drastically, ”Ancestral grave—”
