The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

41: Chapter 41 Peach Wood NailsAfter saying this, he carefully took the zhentan wood from his pocket: ”Old Zhou, this is a dharma instrument I use myself. It was originally used by a master of metaphysics during the Jiaqing era. Crafted from boxwood, it has the effect of Evil-Warding and protecting the house. After my Consecration, its power is even stronger.”

”Can it protect the entire villa?”

”I’m not sure, because your situation here is the most dangerous one I’ve seen since I started my training, so we need to try it out. Success or failure hinges on this one attempt.”

With that, he held the compass in his left hand and the zhentan wood in his right, walking into the villa’s main entrance without hesitation.

Wherever his figure passed, the black aura retreated in succession. Upon coming into contact with the blue and green auras radiating from the compass and the zhentan wood, the black aura seemed like a layer of snow doused with boiling water, silently melting and vanishing.

From his perspective, this mystical scene was like a spectacular yet incredibly eerie animated ink wash film, deeply awe-inspiring.

Han Jingyang could even feel the shivers that came with his goosebumps rising.

The power of the two items made him heave a sigh of relief.

He didn’t do anything upon entering, just carried the two items around the upstairs and downstairs. Finally, he found a suitable spot on the wall in the foyer directly facing the front door and took out a marker to make a mark.

Seeing this, Zhou Yucheng immediately waved his hand.

The workers Zhou Yucheng had prepared long ago quickly got to work, moving away the original sofa and other furniture. From the furniture prepared in advance, they selected a set of old-fashioned central hall tables, adjusted the height, and carefully placed the zhentan wood—which resembled the clapper used by a storyteller—into the shrine, quickly offering tributes and lighting sandalwood incense.

After it was set up, Zhou Yucheng asked cautiously: ”Do I need to kowtow?”

Han Jingyang shook his head: ”No need. Feng shui metaphysics has nothing to do with ghosts or gods; it’s just a set of tools. Why kowtow? If you really want to kowtow, it would be more effective to do so in front of your enemy.”

”Enemy?” Zhou Yucheng looked up, his face blank: ”What enemy?”

”You don’t know?”

”I don’t know,” Zhou Yucheng realized instantly: ”Little Han, you, do you know something? Please, give me some guidance...”

As he spoke, he was about to kneel.

Han Jingyang reached out to stop Zhou Yucheng: ”Kneeling to me is useless. Besides, let’s see the results first.”

As he spoke, he stared intently at the zhentan wood in the shrine.

The zhentan wood was a sixth-grade item, not a high level, but the blue aura it emitted was not weak. It was spreading outward bit by bit and soon encountered the overwhelming black aura, forming two air masses, one large and one small, one blue and one black.

And they began to churn at a speed visible to the naked eye, as if they were both gathering strength.

Just looking at the size of the air masses, the blue one was very weak and at risk of being annihilated at any moment.

But looking closely, one could see that the blue air mass was constantly expanding slowly, while the terrifying black air mass was dissipating and retreating bit by bit.

At this rate, it would take two or three months to clear away all these black auras.

This was naturally the effect of the ”Evil-Warding + 4” attribute.

The effect was not bad.

But the efficiency was too low.

Too slow.

Han Jingyang wanted more to see the ”Household Peace” skill.

However, the zhentan wood remained motionless.

What’s going on?

Not the right remedy?

Or is it beyond its capability?

Han Jingyang frowned, feeling a bit worried. If this zhentan wood didn’t work well, the other items probably wouldn’t be much better, and this mission would be considered a failure.

Although he could still get the two-million deposit even if he failed, it would affect his reputation.

Encountering such a crushing defeat at the starting stage would severely affect customers’ trust in him and would seriously impact his status and prestige.

However, there was no other way.

Unless...

Han Jingyang looked at the compass in his hand.

This was the highest-grade item in his hand, a green fifth-grade; perhaps he could give it a try?

But how to try it?

The attributes of this compass were not the right remedy.

The attributes were ”Qi Observation + 9” and the skill was ”Dragon-Seeking and Point-Hitting.” Isn’t this like using an appetite stimulant to treat angina?

It was completely irrelevant.

Wait.

Han Jingyang stared at the needle, which had been spinning wildly since he entered the door, for more than ten seconds, then changed direction to continue observing.

Every time the needle pointed to the west, there would be a half-second pause.

Could it be...

Try Dragon-Seeking and Point-Hitting?

He took a deep breath and tried to actively activate the skill.

The next second, the green aura in the compass condensed into the shape of an arrow, hovering directly above the compass, almost identical to the directional icons in some games.

Han Jingyang followed the direction of the compass, walked out the door, and went to the small garden behind the villa until the arrow pointed at the ground.

Zhou Yucheng followed, confused: ”Little Han...”

Han Jingyang thought for a moment and said without looking back: ”Find a wooden nail made of peach wood, four-sided pyramid shape, one foot three inches long, tie a red cloth on it, and bring it over quickly.”

In less than ten minutes, the peach wood nail was delivered.

Han Jingyang gripped the nail tightly and drove it into the spot indicated by the arrow.

The moment the nail entered the ground, the violently churning black aura actually paused for a split second, then churned even more violently, like a dragon stung by pain.

Seeing this, Han Jingyang was overjoyed. He swung the hammer and pounded the peach wood nail into the ground until it was no longer visible.

At the same time, a blue light swept across the ground inside the villa, similar to a screen-clearing ultimate move in some games, which even startled Han Jingyang.

Subsequently, the black aura seemed to become like duckweed without roots; it no longer maintained its previous condensed state but gradually dispersed everywhere.

Slowly, the color of the black aura became paler and paler, drifting further and further away, like thick smoke blown away by the wind.

In less than ten minutes, it disappeared completely.

Returning to the villa, Han Jingyang felt much better.

At this moment, the villa was filled with a faint blue aura, appearing so peaceful and serene.

Zhou Yucheng also opened his eyes wide in surprise: ”The feeling is different. Even my brain feels much clearer, and my body feels lighter—it’s like the feeling of throwing off shackles. It’s truly divine.”

Han Jingyang smiled: ”This is just the beginning. Don’t look at how I just found a spot and drove a nail; in fact, the whole process not only had a very high technical content but also carried extremely high risks.”

”Is there any explanation for that peach wood nail?”

”In feng shui theory, any feng shui earth energy must have its origin and development, and there are rules to follow. Dragon-Seeking and Point-Hitting is the skill of finding energy veins and energy acupoints. What I just sealed was the energy acupoint of that malevolent aura.”

”Is everything fine once the energy acupoint is sealed?”

”What are you thinking? This energy vein is like a river. You can block it for a while, but you cannot block it forever. Besides, that peach wood nail is just an ordinary item, not even a dharma instrument; it can only play a certain interfering role. The one that truly solves the problem is that zhentan wood, which is specifically for protecting the house and has excellent effects. It can stabilize the villa’s feng shui and even neutralize the malevolent aura.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yucheng heaved a long sigh of relief. Once he relaxed, his legs went weak, and he almost fell to his knees. He hurriedly expressed his thanks: ”Thank you, thank you. As long as my family is safe, I am satisfied. But Little Han, what was that about the enemy you mentioned earlier? I pride myself on not being overbearing in my dealings, and I don’t recall making any enemies.”
