The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

26: Chapter 26 TestingHan Jingyang did not know what exactly had happened to Sun Xiaoliang, and although he was curious about the specific effects of the ”Continuous Bad Luck” skill, he could not afford to appear too inquisitive.

After all, he had to maintain the demeanor of a high-level metaphysics expert.

Therefore, he kept wandering around the various antique markets in Quancheng, looking for treasures.

And he had gained quite a lot.

It was just that he hadn’t yet found the item Sun Fuchang wanted, one that could increase the chances of having children.

Until Sun Fuchang came knocking: ”Little brother, Old Hu called again. When will you be free to go take a look?”

”Let’s go. I’m ready.”

”Are you really ready?”

”Hehehe, doubting my ability?”

”No, no, no,” Sun Fuchang hurriedly shook his head. ”I now believe one hundred percent that you are a true metaphysics expert.”

”You only believe it now?”

”Hehe, to tell you the truth, it just happened recently. Before this, I was still half-doubting.”

”How so?”

”I was planning to invest in a project earlier, right? The returns seemed pretty good.”

”And then?”

”After I took that vase home that day, the more I thought about it, the more something felt off. I suddenly realized it might be a scam. I asked a friend to look into it, and I just got a reply—it really was a scam. The project exists, but it’s just an empty shell. People have already fallen for it, but the operation was very sophisticated and the scale was large, so it hasn’t exploded yet.”

Han Jingyang smiled. ”You still have the awareness to guard against these things. The item only enhances your ability in that regard.”

”It’s already very, very impressive. Including the divorce—I had thought about it before, but I was always conflicted, my thoughts were a mess. But that night, it only took me half an hour to clear up all the entanglements, and I got it done in a jiffy. Hehe, ever since I got married, I have never felt so relaxed and happy.”

”Congratulations.”

”Thank you, thank you. It really was a stroke of inspiration that helped me make the most correct choice.”

”And what about your precious son?”

”Hmph, probably squandering my money somewhere. Let’s not talk about him. Anyway, little brother, this storefront of yours...”

”This is also quite good. Every day, people come here, drawn by your reputation, just to watch the spectacle. It’s free advertising; it would be a waste not to take it.”

”It can work like that?”

Chatting and laughing, they arrived at Old Hu’s house.

Old Hu’s eyes locked directly onto the compass in Han Jingyang’s hand. ”Has it undergone Consecration?”

Han Jingyang countered, ”What do you think?”

Old Hu stared intensely at the compass. After a moment, he said in a deep voice, ”It feels different from before. There’s an indescribable quality to it.”

Sun Fuchang also nodded repeatedly. ”It really is different from before. Before, it was like a piece of porcelain just unearthed, with a dusty feeling. Now, it has become like a piece of porcelain passed down through generations—translucent, lustrous, and with a touch of mystery. Yet, looking at the photos, it’s exactly the same as before. Magical.”

That was indeed the case.

Previously, this compass was just a wooden object passed down for several hundred years. Although it was well-preserved, it was no different from other wooden objects.

But now, this compass was a Grade 5 intermediate item with attributes and skills.

Although its appearance was exactly the same, without any changes.

The aura and magnetic field were completely different.

This difference could not be seen or touched, but it could be truly felt. Some people could even sense this difference with their eyes closed.

However, Han Jingyang did not elaborate, only smiling. ”This is my most proficient ability, and it is also the core skill that our school relies on to establish itself.”

Old Hu’s expression was very serious. ”This is a true inheritance, unlike us, these few generations, who have wasted all the heritage of our ancestors. By my generation, I can’t even look at yin dwellings anymore. It’s pathetic.”

Han Jingyang smiled. ”Ready to head up the mountain?”

Although it was called heading up the mountain, it was actually just walking around the fields at Old Hu’s hometown.

Although there were mountains and water here in Quancheng, it didn’t have much to do with ordinary people. Someone like Old Hu, who still had a few mu of land, was already considered quite well-off.

These days, earth burials are not allowed, but the enforcement varies in strength. In many places, especially in villages, it is hardly regulated.

Han Jingyang held the compass and walked around the outskirts of the village, carefully observing the surrounding feng shui and earth energy the entire time.

In reality, he didn’t understand feng shui at all.

But he had the advantage of being able to directly see auras that others could not. That feeling of various colored auras churning and flowing was very similar to the feng shui and earth energy described by many masters.

It was just that Old Hu’s few fields had no feng shui to speak of. They were all flat, neat farmland. Good and bad auras just swept right past, unable to gather energy or hide wind at all.

In this situation, he felt it didn’t matter where one was buried; it was neither good nor bad.

But he didn’t say that. Instead, he observed for a long time with a grave expression, then pointed to the center of one of the fields. ”How about over there? Although it doesn’t have a good layout, the location is relatively decent, and there is a lot of room for adjustment. If you’re willing, you can plant a few trees there now to artificially create a small ’backing mountain’ formation.”

Old Hu was neither surprised nor happy, and asked in return, ”A ’backing mountain’ formation?”

”It’s basically just what it sounds like. Your land itself doesn’t have any feng shui to speak of; it has no water or sand, and it can’t hold wind or energy. We can only intervene artificially. Creating such a small formation is the most suitable option for you,” Han Jingyang said calmly. ”Unless you are willing to undertake a major project.”

Old Hu was silent for a moment. ”Can we borrow the dragon energy from Thousand Buddha Mountain?”

”That’s very difficult. This place happens to just miss the dragon vein; the orientation is off by just a little bit. However, it can touch upon the Yellow River’s formation to some extent. This orientation corresponds exactly to that bend in the Yellow River, which has a bit of the ’Jade Belt Hiding the Pearl’ formation, but it’s too far away and cannot hold feng shui. You can only catch a whiff of it here.”

Upon hearing this, Old Hu revealed a smile. ”As expected of a descendant of a high-level expert with a true inheritance.”

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow. ”What do you mean?”

Old Hu cupped his hands. ”Mr. Han, I am truly sorry. That was just a test. Actually, I have another piece of land over there,” he said, pointing south. ”That plot of land with a row of large locust trees behind it. What do you think of it?”

”Holy crap?” Han Jingyang was shocked. ”Is that really yours?”

”Absolutely true. In order to keep that piece of land, I gave up more than twenty mu of top-quality farmland.”

”The energy-gathering effect of that plot of land is the best in this vicinity. That grove of old locust trees is the most wonderful part... did you plant them?”

”My father planted them. It’s a pity he died on the battlefield, and all the knowledge he had was not passed down.”

”In other words, you only know that the feng shui of that land is good, but you don’t know exactly which position is the best, right?”

”Yes, Dragon-Seeking and Point-Hitting is a very rigorous task. A miss by a hair is a miss by a thousand miles; just knowing the general location won’t do.”

”Fair point.”

Han Jingyang narrowed his eyes and carefully observed the feng shui and earth energy over there.

It was indeed good.

A golden aura extending from the distant Thousand Buddha Mountain happened to pass by that side. Although faint, it formed a small pond of energy under the cover of that grove of old locust trees.

This should be what people often refer to as a dragon vein and the gathering of wind and energy.

Man-made projects really can change a feng shui layout.

No wonder people from ancient times to the present have loved to spend time and effort on this.

But, can this thing really change the fate of a person, or even an entire family?
