The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

33: Chapter 33 KowtowingEarly the next morning, Han Jingyang woke his sister up.

Every skill was precious, and he had to make the best use of every minute before the skill effects wore off.

That was why he called his sister to get up early to memorize vocabulary.

Then, the skill attached to the copies of The Analects he had scavenged earlier also took effect.

”Reviewing the old to learn the new.”

As the name suggested, this skill could be used while reviewing schoolwork, and it should be able to improve study efficiency.

Han Jingyang looked at the two items in the study and felt they were still not enough.

The duration of the skill effects was limited.

The attribute effects were just average.

If he wanted his sister to undergo a complete transformation in a short period, he needed higher-grade items.

Unfortunately, treasures of the fifth grade and above were rare and hard to come by.

For now, he could only make the best use of the time after each skill took effect.

For this entire day, Han Jingyang didn’t even go to work, and he even gave up his favorite weekend morning market.

There would be more morning markets in the future, but if he missed the skill effects on his sister, they would be gone for good.

It wasn’t until after four o’clock on Sunday afternoon that he drove his sister to school.

At the school gate, he earnestly exhorted her: ”You’ve made great progress these past two days, and your performance was excellent. Remember that feeling. There are four final exams left before the college entrance exam; if you advance ten places each time, Peking University won’t be far off.”

Han Jingxin opened her arms: ”I know, big brother. Let’s have a hug, and wait for your sister’s good news.”

”Good news?”

”The final exams! I’m confident I can break into the top twenty.”

”You’re not bragging?”

”Absolutely not,” Han Jingxin vowed: ”Under your earnest guidance, big brother, I’ve truly had a breakthrough. The function graphs and analytical expressions I used to find so difficult are nothing special now. Tee-hee, bye, big brother.”

Han Jingyang watched his sister run into the school gate before driving back to Jiguang Zhai.

When he arrived, the street vendors had almost all cleared out.

Liu Jing looked Han Jingyang up and down: ”Boss, were you really at home tutoring Xinxin?”

”What else would I be doing?”

”I suspect you were using tutoring as an excuse to secretly date, or perhaps, went on a blind date?”

”Your imagination is really rich.”

”No, at your age, as long as you don’t have a partner, you can’t escape the fate of blind dates.”

”Aren’t you the same?”

”That’s why I’m suspicious.”

”Think what you want,” Han Jingyang glanced at the counter: ”Who came to clean out the stock again?”

”Mr. Shen.”

”Hmm?”

”He came with Shen Lele and even wanted to ask you out for a meal, but I blocked it. I know you hate those meaningless social engagements, Boss. Hehe, Boss, am I thoughtful?”

Han Jingyang nodded: ”Well done, I’ll reward you with a chicken drumstick.”

As he spoke, he checked the ledger.

The sales revenue for these two days reached as high as 3.4 million.

Three million of that came from Mr. Shen.

Clearly, he had come to repay a debt of gratitude.

It wasn’t just the favor of saving the old lady, but also the favor of letting Shen Lele pass on the information.

Although Shen Lele had not participated in Sun Xiaoliang’s case of hiring a hitman, she had been with Sun Xiaoliang when the ink was splashed, and these two incidents would certainly be investigated together by the police.

By then, as long as Shen Lele’s name appeared on the investigation list, it would be a huge threat to Mr. Shen. If it got out, public outrage alone could drown Mr. Shen.

Therefore, he had Shen Lele go home and remind Mr. Shen to keep an eye on the car accident under the overpass.

Mr. Shen would know what to do as long as he wasn’t stupid.

These people had an extremely high sense of risk.

It was just...

This massive expenditure of three million... he was truly bold.

He still had to keep his distance from people like this; it was too dangerous.

Han Jingyang had scavenged quite a few treasures over the past few days, but most were ordinary seventh-grade items without any skills.

He couldn’t even bring himself to value these items.

But for ordinary people, they were still good things; placed at home or worn on the body, the accumulated influence and changes over time were not to be underestimated.

As they were talking, someone pushed the door open.

It was Zhou Yucheng.

Han Jingyang looked at the enthusiastic yet slightly servile Zhou Yucheng and sighed inwardly.

Now, he finally understood what it meant to ”not hit a smiling face.”

He had a low status before and hadn’t had such an experience.

Now that he had transformed into a master of metaphysics, his status had skyrocketed. Even a social celebrity like Zhou Yucheng had to bow and scrape before him, allowing him to experience a life he had never known before.

This feeling was truly unique.

Before he could speak, Liu Jing had already obediently stood up: ”Professor Zhou, you’re here. Please sit. What would you like to drink?”

Zhou Yucheng quickly said: ”No need for the trouble, I just happened to see Xiao Han come over, so I came to take a look.” As he spoke, he walked up to Han Jingyang and greeted him with a fawning face: ”Xiao Han, why didn’t you go to the market this week? I heard someone picked up a huge bargain.”

Han Jingyang felt helpless, but still nodded slightly: ”I was delayed by something. Who? How big of a bargain?”

”That young man surnamed Xu who goes around trading goods. It was a Yongzheng Emperor famille rose jar. I heard someone offered up to one million for it.”

”Where?”

”At a street stall a few dozen meters east of your doorstep.”

”That is indeed a pity.”

”But it seems your focus has shifted?” Zhou Yucheng asked tentatively: ”Will you only deal in dharma instruments from now on?”

”Not necessarily. If there’s a big bargain, I’ll still pick it up, but dharma instruments are more profitable.”

”Indeed, indeed. It’s just that the quantity is too small, and it’s troublesome, having to run around busily.”

Han Jingyang smiled, knowing Zhou Yucheng’s hidden agenda perfectly well.

This old guy had bought so many items from him in one go, yet hadn’t asked him to help arrange them. He must have come for that now.

However, since the old guy wouldn’t bring it up, he was happy to play dumb.

He didn’t believe the old guy could hold back.

Sure enough, after chatting for a few minutes, Zhou Yucheng tentatively said: ”Xiao Han, I brought back a batch of dharma instruments the other day, and they’ve been piled up at home without being placed properly. When would you be free to come over and take a look for me? Of course, I certainly won’t let you make the trip for nothing. I know the rules.”

This attitude was nothing if not respectful; every word was used with great caution, clearly carefully prepared before coming.

It left Han Jingyang with no way to vent his pent-up temper.

He could only nod slightly: ”This is my job. There’s no need for any ’rules.’ Let’s set a time.”

Zhou Yucheng quickly said: ”It depends on your schedule. Whenever you’re free is fine; I’m available anytime.”

”Then let’s go now.”

”Good, good. Let’s go to the shop first, then to my house. It’s just about mealtime, let’s have a simple meal together.”

”We’ll see. Let’s go.”

Han Jingyang had been to Zhou Yucheng’s Jingpin Tianxia before.

But he hadn’t seen Zhou Yucheng in the shop.

A busy person like Zhou Yucheng certainly wouldn’t be squatting in the shop every day; instead, there were professional managers, accountants, shop assistants, and apprentices.

As soon as they entered, the manager and the shop assistants all stood up to greet Zhou Yucheng.

Zhou Yucheng waved his hand, then turned and respectfully gestured for Han Jingyang to enter, his attitude as fawning as could be.

This left all the employees of Jingpin Tianxia dumbfounded.

In their eyes, Zhou Yucheng was a proper big shot, a person of status and culture in the upper class, who commanded respect wherever he went.

What kind of person could make a social celebrity like Zhou Yucheng so... groveling?
