The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

36: Chapter 36 Help from a Benefactor”How does one improve their fate?”

Han Jingyang organized his thoughts before answering: ”Rise to high office, amass great wealth, or receive help from a benefactor.”

”What is fate?”

In the study of Feng Shui and metaphysics, things that are predetermined at birth are considered fate; parents, family background, appearance, and physique are all fate. These are innate and predetermined. Then there are acquired factors like wealth, status, and connections. These are not immutable, but in most cases, they change very slowly. Taking assets as the simplest example, going from being immensely wealthy to having nothing requires a relatively long process; even in gambling, one must first be exposed to it.

No gambler loses a massive fortune the very first day they start gambling; it always begins with small losses and small wins.

Wealth is like this, and so is status. A person in a high position might fall from grace overnight, but the groundwork for that fall is always long and drawn out.

A person’s fate is the same.

A family’s fate is even more so. Take the Jia family from ”Dream of the Red Chamber” for example; the confiscation of their property happened overnight, but before that, the Jia family had been courting disaster and declining for many years.

Therefore, if you want to strengthen your own fate, setting aside the things that are innately predetermined, only the three things he mentioned remain.

Rising to high office.

Amassing great wealth.

Help from a benefactor.

Even for someone from a humble background, as long as they can rise to high office, their fate changes instantly.

Amassing great wealth is the same.

Both are paths that can truly change one’s fate.

But these two paths clearly do not suit Zhou Yucheng at the moment. He does not hold a government position, so he cannot rise to high office, and although he is in business, it is obviously impossible for him to amass the kind of great wealth needed to change his fate in a short time.

Therefore, only the path of help from a benefactor is more suitable for Zhou Yucheng.

Throughout history, there have been many people who took the path of ”help from a benefactor” to change their luck and fate, successfully staging a comeback.

Zhou Yucheng was no fool. After thinking for a moment, he tightly grasped Han Jingyang’s hand: ”Little Han, you are my benefactor. Please, help me.”

Han Jingyang shook his head: ”Professor Zhou, don’t be foolish. I might be able to help you, but I am definitely not your benefactor. The benefactor I speak of is a big shot who can help you shoulder your troubles. Such a big shot often has an extremely tough fate and deep foundations, capable of easily withstanding your troubles. That is what ’help from a benefactor’ truly means.”

Seeing Han Jingyang refuse time and again, Zhou Yucheng realized he had to look elsewhere, but he still stared at Han Jingyang eagerly: ”Can you help me find where this benefactor is?”

Han Jingyang shook his head: ”I cannot, because I am not involved in the situation. I don’t know what kind of trouble you have gotten into, nor do I understand your network of connections, so how could I possibly know who your benefactor is?”

At this point, he interrupted Zhou Yucheng: ”As I said before, I am just a specialized Feng Shui Master who only handles business related to dharma instruments. The purpose of coming here today is to help you arrange those dharma instruments. Once they are arranged, the task is complete. Let’s begin.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yucheng didn’t speak for a long while, then finally nodded with a bitter expression: ”Fine, let’s arrange them first.”

This job was not difficult.

Han Jingyang only spent about ten minutes determining the specific locations.

Zhou Yucheng directly called over a renovation worker to follow Han Jingyang and get busy; whatever needed to be placed was placed, and whatever needed to be hung was hung. The efficiency was high.

Once everything was arranged and they looked again, it was clearly visible that the thick black aura had receded somewhat.

Under the reinforcement of those four or five low-level dharma instruments, the earth energy within the villa had improved significantly.

Perhaps it could help Zhou Yucheng hold on for a few more days?

Han Jingyang nodded at the anxious Zhou Yucheng: ”My line of reasoning is correct; the newly added dharma instruments can indeed improve the current Feng Shui situation. It is equivalent to driving away the swarming flies a little further, which counts as buying you a little bit of time.”

Zhou Yucheng, however, remained disappointed: ”Little Han, is there really no other way?”

”There is no other way besides piling up dharma instruments, and the number of dharma instruments a house can contain is limited. The best method is still to find high-quality dharma instruments, but the problem remains: the root of the disaster is not the Feng Shui, but you. Wanting to rid yourself of your current predicament by improving Feng Shui is very difficult. Even if it could succeed, it would require a long process. Changing one’s fate is inherently difficult and long, let alone changing it through Feng Shui. The most suitable method for you is only help from a benefactor, so instead of wandering around aimlessly, you had better think of a way to address the root cause.”

Zhou Yucheng sighed, but persisted: ”Can’t you dissipate the evil aura here? To use your words, just eliminate the flies that are swarming in.”

”Didn’t I just say? That requires high-level dharma instruments, and currently, I don’t have any suitable ones on hand.”

Actually, it wasn’t that he didn’t have any, just that he was reluctant to use them for Zhou Yucheng.

The compass in his hand had strong defensive power against the black aura filling the sky. Wherever he went carrying the compass, the black aura immediately scattered as if it had encountered a natural enemy.

And that was just the compass.

If he switched to the matching set of the bagua mirror, tianpeng ruler, sanqing bell, and zhentan wood, the effect would definitely be better.

Because the attributes and skills of those items were better suited, with attributes specifically for Evil-Warding and blocking evil.

Not to mention the skills, which were either for suppressing the house or warding off evil spirits.

It’s just that such good things would be a waste if used on Zhou Yucheng.

He had already said it: the problem on Zhou Yucheng’s side was not a simple Feng Shui issue, but that he had invited trouble, which caused the residential Feng Shui to go wrong. Simply dispersing this black aura was useless; once the skill effects wore off, this black aura would inevitably return.

To put it bluntly, Zhou Yucheng’s fate had gone wrong, and it was a big problem. To use Feng Shui Arts to solve this, he would need very powerful dharma instruments.

Otherwise, he would have no choice but to honestly seek help from a benefactor.

Zhou Yucheng’s expression gradually turned desperate: ”Is there really no other way?”

Han Jingyang looked at Zhou Yucheng, whose expression seemed to have aged decades in an instant. Feeling a bit of pity, he sighed: ”It’s not entirely impossible, but just like treating an illness, it cannot cure the root cause, and the cost is not low. Are you sure you need it?”

Zhou Yucheng was instantly overjoyed: ”Yes, yes! As long as it can keep my family safe, no matter how much money it costs, it’s worth it.”

”Alright then. You find the benefactor, and I will find the dharma instruments. The period is three days. If you still haven’t found one after three days, I won’t get involved in this matter anymore. You’ll have to fend for yourself, okay?”

”Okay, okay! As long as you take action, there is hope.” Zhou Yucheng was moved to tears and tightly grasped Han Jingyang’s hand: ”I will transfer two million to you right now, and another eight million after the matter is accomplished.”

Holy crap!

Truly rich!

Han Jingyang was startled by Zhou Yucheng’s grand gesture.

Ten million right off the bat.

Ten million.

Most ordinary people couldn’t earn this much in a lifetime.

Yet Zhou Yucheng gave it away just like that.

However, thinking about Zhou Yucheng’s current predicament, it wasn’t hard to understand. If a person is gone, what is the point of keeping so much money?

On the contrary, if you can save the person, you don’t have to fear spending all your assets. As long as the person is alive, there is a chance to make a comeback.

Besides, ten million really wasn’t much for someone at Zhou Yucheng’s level. The price of this villa alone was far more than ten million, and the total value of the few cars parked in the garage also exceeded ten million.

Thinking about it this way, Han Jingyang pondered whether he should raise the price a bit.
