Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 543: Simple Application of [Transcendent Knowledge]

After Tan Han dismissed the idea of transferring the [Transcendent Knowledge], I also took the opportunity to give Xia Li a graceful exit using the concept of Destiny.

The atmosphere in this Infirmary room was no longer as stiff as it was initially.

Xia Li also took this moment to retrieve the [Transcendent Knowledge], the culprit of all these events.

However, the moment this item was taken out, the temperature inside the entire Infirmary dropped below freezing.

Even without any action or guidance, the mere act of taking it out caused indiscriminate cooling of the surrounding environment.

It even caused some residual moisture in the room to condense into frost.

Xia Li, who had prepared in advance, immediately activated her defenses the moment she took it out.

After all, she had studied this crown.

Although a powerful enchantment previously restricted the absolute zero power from diffusing, this enchantment was completely broken by that strike.

However, she also had a slight understanding of Sealing Spells, and even possessed Spellbooks of different Sealing Spell types.

But even with a temporary enchantment added, the ambient temperature showed no sign of rising.

Along with the ice crystal crown, she also took out the right arm that had become an ice sculpture.

At this moment, it looked cold and terrifying, but Xia Li herself was nonchalant, directly taking it off and completely destroying it by burning.

Xia Li hadn’t performed this action many times, and she still felt a bit psychologically uncomfortable.

She was completely forcing herself in front of two younger-generation acquaintances.

Moreover, her right arm had already regenerated, so there was no need to worry too much about it.

Suddenly, I, who was watching and sighing from the side, seemed to figure out a few things, such as why Healing Spells were not as popular in Witch Academy, and why they even specifically established a place like the Infirmary.

Firstly, the entry barrier was high, the difficulty of operation was high, and it was difficult for new students to use.

Secondly, the self-healing provided by immortality was sufficient for the senior students.

Therefore, Potions were the scarce item.

It was foreseeable that if ”Healing Spells” were truly needed for injuries among future powerhouses, the so-called healing would probably no longer be the treatment I imagined now, but rather the Dispel of the residual effects of attacks that suppress immortality.

And I vaguely felt the terror of the so-called Grand Spellbook.

A permanent attack Spell effect was equivalent to a permanent wound, unless… the opponent had a Grand Spellbook-level ”Healing Spell” or used a higher price to eliminate the Grand Spell effect.

“Yes, this is the… Carrier of the so-called [Transcendent Knowledge].”

Xia Li looked at the crown, her expression still a little apprehensive.

After all, just a while ago, this one item destroyed a large area of the city, causing widespread infrastructure paralysis and chain problems in Tan Han’s city, and also temporarily cost her right arm.

However… compared to that, her severed right hand was nothing.

“So beautiful…”

Tan Han said subconsciously, looking at the palm-sized crown that looked like a hair accessory.

Its appearance was indeed very beautiful, with the flawless translucent blue color of natural ice crystals.

The pattern on it was somewhat similar to a snowflake.

Light refracted colored spots through the ice crystal, showcasing the purest optical aesthetic.

At this moment, even I thought it was very beautiful, like a piece of art.

The previous strike hadn’t left a single trace on it.

However, this was indeed very different from the [Transcendent Knowledge] I had seen, because the Carrier of this item seemed to be an alchemical item artificially refined.

This meant it had no ”native environment” and no basis or channel for obtaining Revelation.

Researching it seemed to require only the conventional, step-by-step approach.

“Shop Manager, do you know how to use it?”

I asked.

Since the Shop Manager had decided to give away such a valuable item, it naturally needed to have its practical value.

Otherwise, if it had no practical value, it would be equivalent to throwing the burden onto Tan Han, and Tan Han would be unable to bear this gift.

“Use…”

Xia Li was stunned by my question, then slowly spoke.

“I don’t really understand the use of [Transcendent Knowledge], but I know it is an indispensable and important component of a Grand Spellbook.”

“Grand Spellbook!”

Tan Han was a little surprised to hear this concept.

I could tell from her tone that she seemed to know the concept of the Grand Spellbook, but she didn’t know much about [Transcendent Knowledge] and other related information.

“Yes, the Grand Spellbook. The Grand Spellbook transcends the so-called high-consumption Spellbooks and Myriad Spellbooks…”

“I know some concepts of the Grand Spellbook. Shop Manager, you don’t need to explain it so carefully,” Tan Han quickly interrupted Xia Li’s introduction.

“I certainly know about it, and I definitely know more than you two,” I said, responding to Xia Li’s gaze.

“And I also know that a Grand Spellbook is not an easy thing to create. Even the creation of a Spellbook requires achieving the Transcendent level, let alone a Grand Spellbook? Almost all the Academic Witches in Witch Academy have devoted their time to the Grand Spellbook. The difficulty is imaginable.”

However, I recalled the working habits of those Witches… they were quite leisurely, but it was indeed true that they devoted their lives to the Grand Spellbook.

But I wouldn’t say anything.

After all, I wasn’t a capitalist who couldn’t bear to see others rest.

Completing one’s most important goal at one’s preferred pace—perhaps this was a habit unique to long-lived species.

“Is that so…”

Xia Li did not seem surprised by my statement.

Hadn’t she previously tried to find out this basic information?

She had, but it was limited to this superficial understanding, and ultimately, she was still empty-handed.

“Perhaps I should have listened to my mentor earlier. Maybe… using it as a weapon would be a good idea. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been neglected for so long.”

“Using this as a weapon… wouldn’t it be difficult to control?”

Tan Han asked.

After all, she had personally seen the Shop Manager’s right arm completely frozen and necrotized in that brief moment.

Even touching it was so terrifying; how could it be used?

Not to mention, this was a crown.

If she wore it on her head, she would probably be feeling like her life was too long.

“You misunderstood my meaning. My intention is to use this Carrier as the core and refine a new container to house this crown. You saw its power; it absolutely cannot be underestimated. Although it is somewhat indiscriminate toward friend or foe, you also cannot deny its power. If the Sealing Spell technique is used to create a weapon that can be activated controllably, it can become a powerful aid for you.”

“So that’s how it is…”

I said from the side.

I have to say, this was indeed a way to utilize it, very primitive but also effective.

After Tan Han lost the Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell, she did indeed lack a powerful method to enrich her combat system.

Out of a slight preference for ice-type Spells, Tan Han was also relatively receptive to this proposal.

Although it seemed somewhat wasteful in terms of its appearance, practical considerations had to be made.

She had self-awareness.

If she didn’t have the ability, she shouldn’t think about unrealistic things.

“When the time comes, I will use my connections to find an Alchemy Mentor to see if they can help refine it, even if it’s just usable,” Xia Li said as she placed it back into her Storage Equipment.

With the enchantment blocking it and the spatial isolation, the chill on Xia Li’s Storage Equipment still hadn’t dissipated.

It seemed that the terror of absolute zero had indeed affected the spatial level.

“If you are looking for an Alchemist Master who is good at the Sealing Spell, I happen to know one. I can introduce you. As for whether she is willing to help you, I can’t guarantee it. Do you need the introduction?”

Hearing their conversation, especially the keyword ”Sealing Spell,” touched upon some of my thoughts, and I couldn’t help but ask.

“Little Han, you actually know such a Mentor… are you sure she’s an Alchemist Master?!”

Xia Li asked in astonishment upon hearing what I said.

“I think so…”

I didn’t know much about the grading and examination of Alchemy.

Although I could indeed perform a few Alchemy tricks, I was more of a disorganized practitioner of Alchemy Techniques, learning whatever was useful.

Now, with the addition of the Great Tree of Knowledge, my theoretical level of Alchemy was terrifyingly strong.

However, that mentor, Natalie, was introduced to me by the Academy Head, so she shouldn’t be bad.

At most, her personality was just a bit unique.

“Is it convenient to disclose the name of that Alchemist Master?”

Xia Li asked cautiously.

“Mmm… her name is Natalie, and her full name is Natalie Bromfield.”

“What… what was that name?”

Xia Li’s eyes widened when she heard the name.

“Alchemist Master Natalie?! She is one of the most elite Alchemist Witches in Witch Academy… at least among the batch whose names we can know about, she is the most formidable!”

“Is Teacher Natalie that famous?”

I was quite surprised by the Shop Manager’s astonishment.

I hadn’t expected Natalie to be so famous among the students.

“Mmm, how did you get acquainted with this Mentor, Little Han? I apologize… I’m not trying to pry…”

Xia Li quickly realized she had misspoken after saying this sentence.

But I didn’t care much.

“It’s nothing. I just happened to entrust this Mentor with customizing a weapon for me. If it’s just a sealed container, I think it wouldn’t take up too much of her time.”

Of course, the premise was that the other party had to be willing, but I didn’t say that out loud to dampen the mood.

Although I hadn’t interacted much with this Mentor, I could roughly see her personality.

I thought she probably wouldn’t refuse the material that carried [Transcendent Knowledge] that Tan Han and the others had.

“This! You can actually invite her to customize a weapon for you…”

Hearing my words, the Shop Manager couldn’t help but gasp.

This was a level she had never encountered before, so it was understandable for her to think this way.

“Do you want me to? If you nod, I can give you her contact information and say I introduced you… If that doesn’t work, I can introduce you to other Mentors.”

I said.

Then, I would contact Natalie to inquire about the progress of my weapon, and at the same time, ask her if she was interested in the material carrying [Transcendent Knowledge].

If she was really not interested, then there was nothing I could do, but I did know some other Alchemy Mentors.

After all, I was also very curious about the power of a weapon carrying [Transcendent Knowledge].

I had only heard the concept of a weapon forged from [Transcendent Knowledge].

I hadn’t actually seen anyone in Witch Academy so lavish as to forge it into a weapon.

“Mmm, yes! I thank you on behalf of Tan Han and myself, Little Han…”

“No need to thank me. It’s just a small favor,” I waved my hand and said.

Then, I picked up my phone and sent a greeting to Natalie.

Unsurprisingly, she was indeed very interested in the material carrying [Transcendent Knowledge].

As an Alchemist Master, she naturally hoped to refine an alchemical weapon in her hands that could rival the authority of a Grand Spellbook.

Unfortunately, Tan Han and the others did not yet require such high-level craftsmanship for this refinement, and they also weren’t qualified to do so.

Of course, the most important point was that Natalie herself wasn’t confident in using Alchemy to refine a weapon that could fully unleash the power of [Transcendent Knowledge].

If given time, perhaps she could, but Tan Han and the others couldn’t wait.

While waiting, Xia Li continued to tell Tan Han about some other matters concerning [Transcendent Knowledge].

I took this opportunity to tell them the good news that the Mentor agreed, which was a way to share the joy.

I didn’t mind if it slightly delayed the refinement time of my weapon, as I wasn’t in a hurry, although Tan Han and the others weren’t exactly in a rush either.

However, what Xia Li said next was quite surprising to me.

“Tan Han, there is one more thing I haven’t told you.”

“One more thing? What is it?”

“Just now, I mentioned that the Wan Shi Wu Club proactively instigated the Struggle for Destiny. This piece of [Transcendent Knowledge] that I am about to give you is your bargaining chip. This is an extremely valuable resource. Once it is in your hands, you must have the power to guard it.”

“They could have just snatched it from me, but they are still somewhat wary of me. They brought up the pretense of the Struggle for Destiny, ultimately forcing me to take a side. They want this item, and they want to acquire it legitimately through the form of a Destiny confrontation. The reason they are so covetous of my [Transcendent Knowledge] is… because the Wan Shi Wu Club also has a Heart of Cold Tide. That item was once a part of this [Transcendent Knowledge].”

“What? I… I understand…”

Tan Han felt a bit confused listening to Xia Li’s lengthy explanation, but after slowly organizing it, she roughly understood what the Shop Manager wanted to convey.

They were pushing the Children of Destiny out as representatives.

They had the strength and confidence, but they also feared the unknown and unreasonable power of Destiny, so they used another method to achieve their goal.

They treated the so-called Destiny and Script as tools that could be manipulated for their own benefit.

And now, because of the Shop Manager’s relationship with her, she was inexplicably drawn into this ”game” that she couldn’t refuse.

Honestly, Tan Han disliked this feeling very much.

She always felt that those who tried to manipulate the fate of others would eventually suffer a backlash of Destiny.

But this was merely a useless, malicious curse.

Everything still came down to power.

At this moment.

I watched Tan Han and Xia Li chatting enthusiastically.

As for the grudges between them and the Wan Shi Wu Club, I wouldn’t concern myself with that.

I wasn’t the one experiencing the trouble, and I only needed to enjoy the final outcome from the side.

However, I still had one thing to do before leaving, which was to give Tan Han a Seed of Great Knowledge.

As the most prominent Child of Destiny, I naturally needed to ”harvest” her a bit.

“By the way, let me interrupt your conversation. I have one more thing to give you. I think I mentioned this to you at the seaside party back then. I wonder if you still remember it.”

I said, taking out a seed.

Just as I was about to patiently introduce how to use this item, a figure suddenly arrived at the Infirmary.

“Hmm? Is that Teacher Lina? I didn’t expect you to come?”

I said with some surprise.

“Something so major happened to my student. How could I not come?”

Lina was also a bit surprised to see me here, but she still explained.

But at this moment, her gaze was entirely focused on the Seed of Great Knowledge in my hand.

After all, the wondrous item called the Seed of Great Knowledge had recently circulated among the Witch community and was related to the Grand Spellbook.

She naturally actively learned about it and even obtained one from the Academy Head to try for herself.

She found that it was indeed quite good.

“So that’s how it is. Then it seems I am redundant here. I was planning to give this Seed of Great Knowledge to Tan Han. Since Teacher Lina is here to care for Student Tan Han, I’ll entrust this matter to Teacher Lina then.”
