Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 519: No One Will Hug a Time Bomb

“Phew I came out.”

After stepping out of Big Sis Bai’s Teleportation Channel, I also took a deep breath to ease the emotions in my heart at that moment.

After all, I had been talking to the Academy Heads about professional content related to the Grand Spellbook.

Even though I had already convinced myself not to be afraid of the Academy Heads, truly achieving that state of mind required solid confidence as support.

I was still too far from the Academy Heads’ level.

To borrow the Academy Head’s words, my current situation was still a bit too rushed.

Many of my views were still at the macro-level conceptual stage, and I hadn’t settled down to enter the grinding stage of the most intricate details.

The Great Tree of Knowledge granted me the ability to skip the slow accumulation phase, but since I chose to skip this phase, I also needed to spend more time on profound assimilation and applying that knowledge.

Only then would that knowledge truly belong to me.

The fine-tuning of details wasn’t merely settling down to procrastinate; it was dedicating more thought and using more knowledge to fill in more inconspicuous areas.

That was the ”etching of detail.”

This time with the Academy Heads, the seemingly biggest gain was the Academy Heads approving the promotion of the Seed of Great Knowledge.

But for me, this was just a predetermined hurdle to cross; the only choice was how to cross it.

Crossing it so easily now was naturally not a gain, but a pleasant surprise.

My real gain was the overall direction for future planning that formed after my conversation with the Academy Heads, and… how to handle problems meticulously.

Of course, the connections established through the Academy Heads’ mediation were also very important.

Although I clearly knew I wasn’t good at handling interpersonal relationships, this level of relationship relied more on one’s own value.

If you had value, even if you were inarticulate, it would still be touted as a virtue by others.

“Little Han was very nervous just now?”

Big Sis Bai also emerged from the Teleportation Channel, reached out, and wrapped her arms around my waist, asking.

“Of course. After all, I was facing two Academy Heads. It’s okay to be a little nervous, right? Or perhaps… being a little nervous is more fitting for the occasion?”

Being hugged by Big Sis Bai, I had no more worries, and my tone became much lighter.

“More fitting for the occasion? With those two’s attitude toward you, you shouldn’t be nervous at all, right… Little Han needs to adapt more.”

“If you truly want me to not be nervous at all… that would have to wait until my strength is roughly on par with those two Academy Heads. Although I looked nervous, it was actually reverence towards a senior. People still need to have a sense of awe, after all.”

“A sense of awe? Don’t be too ridiculous, Little Han.”

Big Sis Bai chuckled teasingly, and as for what I had just said about not being nervous until my strength was on par with the Academy Heads, Bai Yu just laughed softly and didn’t take it too seriously.

However, as we left the Academy Head’s office, it was already late.

“Does Little Han have any plans for tonight?”

“Tonight? Hmm… it seems I have many things to do, but none of them are particularly urgent.”

I looked at Big Sis Bai, my gaze somewhat distant.

After all, both Big Sis Bai and I knew that after prematurely ending our fun, we each had our own things to do.

I couldn’t keep clinging to Big Sis Bai and wasting time.

“Should we go have a good meal? And then… spend another wonderful night together.”

“Mhm.”

I met Big Sis Bai’s slightly suggestive gaze, and a knowing smile appeared on my face.

Liking someone doesn’t mean needing to cling to them all the time.

An appropriate sense of personal space is also very important.

Big Sis Bai was now also an official tutor.

She had many things to do and needed to continuously improve herself to achieve her own power.

The same was true for me.

I had many things to do, constantly improving myself.

Therefore, Big Sis Bai and I both had a bright future, and we were working hard towards it, rather than wasting time on meaningless things.

Of course, appropriate intimacy and a sense of ritual were also condiments for maintaining a relationship.

Tonight was also a sleepless night of intense effort.

...

Early morning.

After completing my daily Meditation and Five Senses Enhancement practice, I began today’s day off.

After all, I couldn’t expect myself to maintain high efficiency in researching the Great Tree of Knowledge after a night of intense effort.

This naturally required some time for adjustment.

Of course, today also served as a mental adjustment.

I went back to see the few roommates in my Dorm whom I hadn’t seen for a long time.

I had seen them during the joint exam, but I hadn’t been of much help.

If I didn’t reconnect, our friendship might dissolve.

After all, I had said… even if I became a Teaching Assistant, I would still treat them as my friends.

Of course, they were mostly being treated as an anchor point for the concept of ”friend” by me, but I didn’t want to admit this statement.

I was merely trying to become a friend to others, so that my new life wouldn’t have the regret of ”having no friends.”

Moreover… I had reserved spots for the Seed of Great Knowledge for them, though that would have to wait until the new, updated version of the Seed of Great Knowledge was complete.

After exchanging pleasantries with the remaining people in the Dorm, I didn’t stay long and then went to another place, not far from the villa.

For such a short distance, I naturally didn’t use a spell to teleport there.

Perhaps because it was the holidays, the roads in the academy were much less crowded.

I finally stood at the entrance of the Bakery Club that hadn’t changed much in half a year, looked through the glass door at the familiar layout inside, and saw the listless Senior Ying Shiqian behind the counter.

Everything seemed unchanged.

I immediately pushed the door open and entered, not attracting anyone’s attention.

I went over to a nearby Display Stand, which was stacked with completely new products that were different from what I had seen before.

It seemed Senior Tang Yihan hadn’t given up on her innovation.

Since these new products could be sold here, it meant Senior Tang Yihan had succeeded; I just wondered how many Senior Ying Shiqian it had cost before succeeding.

I picked up a bag of pre-packaged Thousand-Wheel Cake and walked towards the cash register.

“A bag of Thousand-Wheel Cake, your total is… hmm?”

Ying Shiqian slightly raised her head, looking at the figure walking towards her.

She habitually started quoting the price, but halfway through, she suddenly felt something was wrong.

Seeing the wisp of white hair floating in front of her, she abruptly looked up, meeting a pair of slightly smiling eyes.

“Little Han?!”

“Senior Ying Shiqian still recognizes me?”

Under Ying Shiqian’s suddenly eight-octave-higher gasp, I placed the cake on the counter and replied with a smile, confirming her suspicion.

“It really is Little Han!”

Ying Shiqian widened her eyes, somewhat incredulous, and even instinctively reached out a hand, wanting to pinch my face.

“It shouldn’t be someone impersonating you, right?”

“Who would be so bored as to impersonate me?”

I gently blocked Senior Ying Shiqian’s hand and said with a smile.

As the commotion spread, it also attracted the attention of others.

“Big Sis Xiao Han? Where is she? Has Big Sis Xiao Han come?”

“Is that true? Senior Ying Shiqian, you didn’t mistake someone again, did you?”

As several voices rang out, a few girls in Bakery Club uniforms popped their heads out from the back, seemingly looking around curiously.

“It! Really is Big Sis Xiao Han!”

As this confirming voice came, several figures emerged directly from the back, surrounding me in a state of extreme excitement.

It wasn’t until Senior Ying Shiqian persuaded and pulled them away that they slightly recovered some rationality.

“Little Han, I didn’t expect you to come here at this time.”

At this moment, Senior Tang Yihan, who had been messing with new products and training newcomers in the back, also came out.

After all, with such a commotion outside, how could she not come out to see?

“Senior Tang Yihan, long time no see.”

I also greeted her.

After exchanging greetings, the girls around me immediately started asking me all sorts of questions, mostly words of great admiration for me.

Furthermore, a few of these girls had also dyed their hair white, imitating me.

After a brief inquiry, I realized that they were members of the Little Han Support Group.

That seemed utterly unsurprising.

Of course, this support group was spontaneously formed by them.

Even after going through various controversies, even when the Tan Han Support Group disbanded after the joint exam, they still insisted on calling themselves members of this support group.

These few were also members of the Bakery Club.

They had spontaneously followed me and joined this club, conveniently staying here during the holidays and working part-time to earn some pocket money.

After all, the expenses at the Witch Academy were truly significant.

Money was needed for all aspects.

Even with academy scholarships and mission boards that specifically provided channels for earning money, it was still insufficient.

“Big Sis Xiao Han, I heard you became a Teaching Assistant. What course will Big Sis Xiao Han be teaching? Can you tell us? I want to see if I might also have the chance to take it once.”

“Me? I’m just a Teaching Assistant, assisting the tutor with teaching. But the tutor I’m following teaches Body Cultivation, oh. You probably won’t try that.”

I explained with a smile.

After all, this was my first formal conversation with members of my support group, but I hadn’t expected them to be so curious about my affairs.

“Body Cultivation? What kind of course is that, Big Sis Xiao Han? Is it about rigorous physical exercise?”

“Curious. How can the Witch Academy have Body Cultivation? Shouldn’t that be what the Beast Academy learns? We Witches should learn how to cast spells, right?”

“Big Sis Xiao Han, I want to work out too. My physical quality isn’t very good. Can we take your class next semester, Big Sis Xiao Han?”

“Next semester, following the normal procedure, it should be possible. Furthermore, what I want to say is that Body Cultivation is not just simple physical exercise; it’s a system of power no weaker than spells.”

I explained to them.

“Then, Big Sis Xiao Han, are you a Dual Cultivator of Body and Spell? ”

“Mhm… In a way, it seems correct?”

I also replied.

“Then do I have the potential for Body Cultivation? I feel like my physical quality has inexplicably improved a lot since I enrolled half a year ago. Am I a Body Cultivation genius?”

“Me too, hey. Things I couldn’t move before, I can easily lift now. Do I also have talent?”

“Idiot! That’s the Witchification brought to us by the Magic Power Source when we enrolled. You’ve been here for half a year, and you don’t even know that Witchification can improve physical quality?”

One of the girls helplessly explained the situation to the two of them.

After chatting with them for a while, I exchanged a few words with Senior Ying Shiqian and the others, not doing anything else, just talking about some interesting things, as it had been a while since we last met.

Ying Shiqian even suggested calling the Store Manager over to join us, but I stopped her.

Since this visit wasn’t a big deal and I’d be back, there was no need to deliberately call the Store Manager.

Perhaps we would meet by chance next time.

I remembered clearly witnessing Shop Manager Xia Li’s thoughts being interfered with by the Destiny of the Script.

So, she was naturally an important supporting character, and moreover, she possessed a piece of [Transcendent Knowledge] to serve the Script.

If a meeting was truly necessary, Destiny would guide me to meet her.

When my conversation with Senior Ying Shiqian and the others was winding down, I also left the Bakery Club, but when I walked out, those few girls reluctantly followed me.

“Um… Big Sis Xiao Han, about the support group…”

“That accident suddenly happened during the joint exam, and Tan Han personally announced that she no longer acknowledged the connection between the Tan Han Support Group and her. Big Sis Xiao Han, you won’t also publicly disavow your relationship with us, will you?”

“I maintain a neutral stance on this. After all, you witnessed the entire incident with the Tan Han Support Group. I will not make any statements either supporting or opposing such voices…”

I simply responded to their concerns and doubts.

“But… Big Sis Xiao Han, we’ve always supported you from behind. If you don’t respond to us in any way, it will deeply hurt everyone’s feelings!”

“Oh? I understand your concerns, but blind expectation and self-imposed disappointment are a form of self-harm that you conjure up, and they are also the fundamental reason why I won’t respond to you.”

“Big Sis Xiao Han, are you saying that all of this has been our unrequited affection from start to finish?”

As this sentence was uttered, the girls immediately fell silent.

Even the girl who spoke the sentence realized her mistake after saying it.

At the moment of silence, I spoke to break the quiet.

“If a person lives purely for one person, strives for one person, and pours all their emotions into one person… then that person is only one step away from self-destruction, and that step is realizing that everything they did was merely unrequited affection.”

“I can tell you frankly… such a person is not a follower in my eyes, but a Time Bomb. No one would hug a Time Bomb and treat it as a treasure.”

As I finished these words, I knew it would shatter some of the fantasies of these girls, but recognizing the facts sooner was much better than deceiving themselves.

“I know my words are unpleasant, and I’m not afraid of you spreading them, but I must mention that this Time Bomb has already left Tan Han completely isolated, and I will not follow in her footsteps.”

As I spoke, I saw that one of them had already turned pale, as if she had heard the most terrifying thing she would ever hear in her life.

Her trembling pupils seemed to be asking if I was serious about what I had just said.

The other girls at most just looked a bit upset, and some seemed to have fallen into deep thought because of my words.

I didn’t give them a chance to speak further.

I didn’t come here to cause trouble.

Encountering these girls was an accident, and making them cry was also not my intention.

“I’m very glad that after I said all this, you can still remain rational, instead of turning on me like those members of the Tan Han Support Group. Especially you, your name is… Qiu Mei, right?”

My gaze then turned to the girl who was the most emotional just now.

This girl was startled when I suddenly called out her name, as she didn’t remember her name being known or remembered!

“Your performance in the joint exam was very eye-catching. You killed three monsters alone and collaborated to kill more than a dozen. You even tore off an Angel’s wing. I remember all of your performances, which is why I’m telling you this. I simply hope you can have the ability to think for yourselves, rather than being controlled by your own wishful thinking emotions. You need to understand what exactly you came to the Witch Academy for, but one thing is certain… you shouldn’t be here to chase celebrities.”

Reaching this point, I stopped talking further.

In my field of vision, the information about each person that had surfaced from the Great Tree of Knowledge also faded away.

My words struck a nerve with someone, and also crushed the hearts of many.

They say girls are emotional, and they were no exception.

Once they finished venting their emotions, if they started recalling my words, then my effort wouldn’t have been wasted.

Furthermore… the trigger points for girls seemed to be different sometimes.

Occasionally, just remembering the other person’s name could bring immense emotion to them, just like this Qiu Mei.

I wouldn’t say anything more for the rest; I would let them fill in the blanks themselves.

Even if they posted criticisms about me on the Academy Network, I didn’t care.

After all, hadn’t enough people been criticizing me recently?

At this moment, the group of girls looked at my departing back, all wanting to speak but holding back.

After I completely disappeared from their sight, a feeling of despondency began to spread.

“Um… Big Sis Xiao Han, are you alright? We all know that you are the most devoted to Little Han among us…”

“I… I’m fine. That, did you all hear that? Big Sis Xiao Han actually called out my name… she paid attention to me!”

“Qiu Mei, are you okay? How about I ask for leave for you? You don’t look very well?”

“I’m just a little excited. Big Sis Xiao Han was right…”

“Isn’t Qiu Mei a bit obsessive now?”

A girl whispered softly at the side at this moment.

“I don’t know… Hey, do you think it’s true that Big Sis Xiao Han remembers us? I really want Big Sis Xiao Han to remember my name too…”
