Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 513: Lucianne Explores the Tree of Knowledge

Looking at the person who had already left, Lucianne wanted to say something, but didn’t know how to open her mouth.

She just stayed there quietly by herself.

This was a viewing platform on the upper deck of the yacht.

The wind was blowing on one side, and fortunately, no one came to disturb her.

Lucianne quickly became mentally active.

After experiencing a setback, the source of pressure had left, and she could more freely try out the so-called Tree of Knowledge.

The entire development of events felt somewhat ”dreamlike” to her at this moment.

She had so easily obtained the ability she had previously dreamed of.

Settling her mind, she quickly saw her Sea of Consciousness, anchored by the Tree of Knowledge.

A small sapling floated in that void, and the roots growing beneath it seemed to have plunged into the depths of her consciousness.

The moment the seed sprouted, she felt the connection between herself and the seed, which was like her own instinct and could perform many basic tasks.

“Memory… as nutrients…”

Lucianne pondered for a moment.

Countless memories floated in her mind.

She truly wanted to try this ability herself.

After searching for a moment, Lucianne found some trivial and embarrassing memories from a long time ago—memories she didn’t want to recall but still remembered—to test.

“May the past memories transform into nutrients and vanish from my mind!”

Lucianne exclaimed softly, following her ”instinct” to convert the memory into nutrients and feed it in.

In fact, she didn’t know what form the so-called conversion into nutrients took, but since she had already established a connection with the Tree of Knowledge, following her instinct might work.

And the fact was that it did, but… the result was beyond her expectation.

“Damn it, didn’t it say it would convert into nutrients?”

Lucianne felt the memory shared back by the Tree of Knowledge, and her face darkened a little.

Now, she probably wouldn’t be able to forget it at all, but apart from these unpleasant memories, the Tree of Knowledge really did grow slightly.

“The memory converted into nutrients will also become a recorded memory… and the original memory hasn’t been consumed…”

Soon, putting aside these unpleasantries, Lucianne summarized the information gained from this attempt.

She also quickly self-tested.

After memorizing an irregular string of numbers, she gradually forgot this irregular number string not long after, but the information recorded in that memory was recorded in her Tree of Knowledge.

This verified, in the simplest way, that the so-called Photographic memory was real.

“Is there no way to delete these memories?”

Lucianne muttered to herself, somewhat distressed amid her joy.

With just a simple attempt, she had confirmed that this unknown method had granted her the ability of ”Photographic memory,” and this backed-up memory was not much different from her original memory.

She felt she could fully adapt to it in just a few days.

At this moment, she recalled the three abilities of the Seed of Knowledge she had seen earlier, as well as what Little Han had said before leaving.

Since her current deep thinking yielded no results, she might as well try something else first.

That… Shadow of Knowledge.

She had witnessed the terror of this method during the joint exam, and… the other party seemed to be able to control this ability as their own Avatar.

Thinking of this, Lucianne suddenly realized something: could the other party also ”monitor” the ability of this Tree of Knowledge’s Shadow of Knowledge?

A cold sweat broke out on her back at the thought.

But no matter what, since she had accepted this benefit, the price was naturally unavoidable.

Even if everything was as she thought, she couldn’t resist at this stage, or rather, she couldn’t just give up such a powerful ability.

After experiencing this ability, who could have the courage to say they didn’t need it?

In any case, she couldn’t say no to this temptation.

“But… how exactly do I summon the Shadow of Knowledge? Do I just call it…”

Lucianne had no idea right now.

Most of the Spellbooks she used also contained instructions on how to use that Spellbook.

Now, this seed stumped her.

However, just as this thought crossed her mind, a figure suddenly appeared in her field of vision.

“Truly a waste! Lucianne, you have such a good thing delivered to your hands, and you don’t even know how to use it?”

Suddenly, that familiar voice echoed in her ear, making her heart skip a beat instantly.

“Shadow of Knowledge…”

“Yes You’ve clearly established a connection with the Seed of Knowledge, and many abilities have become instinctual. Summoning me is just a matter of thought. What exactly are you being so timid about?”

At this moment, the figure in Lucianne’s eyes was right beside her, continuously belittling her in a lecturing tone.

Meanwhile, Lucianne was recalling what Little Han had said before leaving…

“Why are you being so harsh… You’re not Yang Yuehan. You’re just a reflection of my inner subconscious…”

“Oh, so you know that. Didn’t you already know that during the joint exam? You only dare to call out now, are you mighty calling out to yourself? If you have the guts, say something harsh in front of Little Han!”

The Shadow of Knowledge continued.

“Enough! I didn’t call you out to argue about this!”

Lucianne suppressed the urge to retort, but she had to admit she had nothing to say.

“Your mind is in chaos. You are using the current reason as an excuse to escape. I’ll humor you.You want to use me to understand how to use this Seed of Knowledge, right? Your idea is indeed correct. The Seed of Knowledge does record a considerable portion of usage instructions that need to be articulated by me. Ask away.”

At this moment, the Shadow of Knowledge completely adopted the stance of a superior, especially that final phrase ”Ask away,” which stung Lucianne’s heart again as if it were a handout.

“Little Han… she’s not like this…”

“That’s right, Little Han isn’t like this, but in your heart, she is. You’re afraid of her, and you’re also afraid of yourself, because subconsciously, you think that if you had power like hers, you would be even more excessive than she is.”

As Lucianne whispered that sentence, the figure of the Shadow of Knowledge circled around Lucianne.

That familiar voice echoed in her ears, and the piercing remarks struck the most vulnerable part of her heart.

“Tell me… tell me about the instructions for using the Tree of Knowledge…”

Lucianne took a deep breath before slowly emerging from her earlier emotions, then spoke.

“Currently, the Tree of Knowledge has three basic abilities. You understand the memory backup function. You also understand the Shadow of Knowledge, which is me. Only the Appraisal Spell remains… Do you want me to tell you about it…”

“No, tell me about the memory backup function. I want to know how to completely delete the memories backed up in the Tree of Knowledge… and… the memory storage of the Tree of Knowledge, does it have an upper limit?”

Lucianne interrupted the Shadow of Knowledge.

She hadn’t forgotten why she summoned the Shadow of Knowledge—of course, it was to clear those memories that were making her OCD act up.

“Simple question. Deleting memories in the Tree of Knowledge is very simple. As for the memory storage limit you mentioned… let’s just say it hasn’t been recorded; it hasn’t been tested yet.”

“However, theoretically, there is an upper limit. But this upper limit is very likely related to a person’s Sea of Consciousness, Mental Power, and so on. After all, if the Sea of Consciousness cannot bear the Tree of Knowledge, then the storage limit is effectively reached. However, you can deal with this issue by regularly cleaning up trash memories.”

“I have a concept left by Little Han here. You can categorize the stored memories, such as important information, common knowledge, knowledge, useless junk, suggestive content, temporary important memories, etc., to facilitate one-click cleanup when you clean up memories.”

After the Shadow of Knowledge finished speaking, Lucianne fell into deep thought.

These concepts were not hard to imagine, and… they were very practical, but she really couldn’t think of a more efficient way in a short time.

Subsequently, under the Shadow of Knowledge’s hands-on guidance, Lucianne also learned the method to erase those memories, but the same memory was basically of no help to the growth of the Tree of Knowledge.

She had thought she could exploit a loophole.

Thinking of this, Lucianne couldn’t help but mock herself.

This wasn’t a game; how could there be a loophole for her to exploit?

And even if there was, it would be meaningless.

The growth stage of the Tree of Knowledge wasn’t a rigid requirement; what she needed most was knowledge!

The knowledge that had once tortured her!

Now… heh heh… she had even planned how to retaliate.

Before, when she begged for this knowledge to enter her brain, they seemed unwilling.

Now, that knowledge would eventually become a plaything in her hands, to be discarded whenever she wished!

“What exactly are you fantasizing about? Is this the time you should be thinking about this?”

The sudden voice pulled Lucianne back to reality.

It was the Shadow of Knowledge that hadn’t disappeared yet.

“Is there anything else?”

“If not, I don’t want to see you for now.”

“You haven’t tried one of the abilities yet. Aren’t you curious?”

“That Appraisal Spell… what exactly is it?”

Lucianne quickly reacted.

She had somewhat neglected this ability earlier, but the Appraisal Spell thing… was it really not just a joke to trick her?

How could such a heaven-defying thing exist in the real world?

She would rather believe it was a very ordinary feature, similar to intelligent object recognition, and wasn’t this concept still in the realm of fantasy?

“That is one of the proudest abilities Little Han developed, and one of the core abilities embedded in the Tree of Knowledge. Why don’t you try using Appraisal on yourself?”

“This ability can be used on oneself?”

Lucianne half-believed, half-doubted and used the Appraisal Spell on herself, following the instinctual control over the Tree of Knowledge.

As the command was issued, she immediately felt a series of information emerge…

“What is this supposed to do?”

As Lucianne finished her sentence, a simple, illusory display screen appeared in front of her, giving her a feeling similar to operating the Earth Vein Operating System.

This display could even interact with her gestures.

But the information on it made her scalp tingle!

It recorded her name, age, birth, and a series of other details, from text information to her personal pictures, including her former gender and the time she changed gender…

And the information about the Magic Power Source and Spellbooks inside her was also recorded in great detail…

The more she read, the colder she felt down her spine.

This was like having her last secrets stripped bare.

Some information she didn’t even remember herself, but it was presented with incredible accuracy.

As she scrolled further down, she found that the information recorded below was divided differently.

“This information is up for debate and cannot be definitively confirmed. The further down you go, the less reliable the information becomes, offering only reference value.”

The Shadow of Knowledge explained to her in a timely manner.

“This information… is too terrifying. Little Han possesses this method… then wouldn’t she be… How is this possible?”

Lucianne forced herself not to think further, because that possibility was too terrifying…

“There’s no such thing as impossible in the Transcendent world. Things are done by people. There’s no need to feel pressured, because now you also possess this power. But please don’t use this ability to do anything bad, like checking the color of other girls’ suggestive content.”

The Shadow of Knowledge said without hesitation.

“I would never use this ability to do such a thing!”

Lucianne resolutely defended herself.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes!”

“Positive?”

“P-Positive! Damn it, I’m not a pervert!”

“Yes, yes, yes. By the way, this ability has another heaven-defying function. Do you want to know?”

The Shadow of Knowledge changed the subject and asked.

“What other function?”

“You can also record the information acquired through Appraisal into the Tree of Knowledge, making it a nutrient for the growth of the Tree of Knowledge.”

“!”

…

At this moment, after leaving Lucianne, I strolled around this yacht.

The facilities here were so numerous that they surprised me.

There were two swimming pools on the yacht alone—one open-air and one indoor.

Coupled with the Spatial Extension Rune Technique, the internal partitioning design of the yacht was truly terrifying.

The yacht, which I originally thought was quite large, probably had an internal space as intimidating as a cruise ship, didn’t it?

Moreover, there were several decks: the main deck, the upper deck, the flybridge deck, and the sun deck.

There was even a private movie theater inside…

The open-air restaurant on the main deck had now turned into a self-service party dining area.

As for the area near the open-air pool, it seemed a bit like a chaotic dance floor.

As the yacht sailed away, the Witches here had completely let loose and were enjoying the rare party atmosphere.

Not only Witches, but even Holy Angels and Elves had joined in, as if there were no barriers between them at this moment.

Although I might not be able to blend into this joyful atmosphere, I really liked this lively atmosphere, but I quietly sat and enjoyed it alone.

Perhaps I just liked the feeling of inner peace brought by this extreme contrast; it was truly addictive.

Thinking this, I walked up to the self-service dining area and picked out the food I liked.

Although it was a buffet, the food here was not sloppy at all, with many items being rare and precious ingredients, and they were very fitting for the seaside theme, mostly seafood.

Just as I was eating very seriously, a figure suddenly appeared beside me.

Just as that hand was about to reach out, I discovered it first.

“Hey Big Sis Bai! Were you planning to sneak attack me?”

I turned sideways and saw Big Sis Bai’s smiling face, then said.

“Little Han, are you done with your business?”

“Yes, although the process was winding, I managed to promote it, barely.”

I put down the fork and plate in my hand and then pretended to look pitiful.

“Boo-hoo-hoo Big Sis Bai, earlier, someone told me I wasn’t good at socializing…”
