Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 530: The Choice of Custom Weapon

After the class ended.

“How was it? Did the content of my class help you solve any problems?”

The Witch mentor asked with a smile.

The class had ended, and the students who were in the class were leaving, while she was tidying up her lecture materials.

“Thank you, mentor. I benefited greatly,” I said, before Big Sis Bai could.

“Then it means I didn’t teach this class in vain. The class is over now. Do you have anything else you want to consult about? I can talk to you while I still have some time.”

“Thank you, teacher. Currently, I haven’t encountered any difficulties. I just caused you a little trouble by suddenly joining the class. I have already paid the tuition, and here is a small token of my appreciation.”

As I spoke, I presented a small, square crystal.

This crystal was accidentally created by a Witch sister.

It could carry the Seed of Great Knowledge, and originally only had this one effect.

However, the Seed of Great Knowledge was a Grand Spell effect that existed permanently without needing to be carried, so it was nearly useless.

It was equivalent to putting a physical carrier on the Seed of Great Knowledge.

Using it as a gift made it seem more formal.

However, that sister was not content with just that.

I heard she had started working on mimicking the Sea of Consciousness carrier crystal, allowing the Seed of Great Knowledge to germinate directly within the carrier seed, so its growth could be directly observed in the material world.

“This! The Seed of Great Knowledge?”

Seeing what I took out, the other party was obviously stunned for a moment, but quickly reacted.

“You can use the Seed of Great Knowledge as a gift. You must be Little Han, who has been discussed recently, right? I didn’t realize it for a moment.”

She gave a light laugh, looking surprised, but still reached out and accepted the seed.

“Since it’s a gift from Little Han, I will accept it. I wish you will both be happy forever. Of course, if you encounter any minor problems, you can also contact me directly. I am very good at handling emotional issues, but I also hope you never have to contact me, so… I won’t give you my contact information.”

“Is… is that so? Then I’ll take your good wishes.”

I quickly said, after all, the other party’s thinking was indeed quite unconventional.

Should I say this was worthy of a Witch?

“Mmm, of course. If you encounter any problems and want to consult me, besides my regular classes, you can also contact that person, Dana. She says she’s your good friend, your best gal pal, and so on. My ears are numb from hearing her talk about these things all the time, but even after hearing so much, I haven’t seen you meet once. Little Han is truly… even cuter than the rumors say.”

“Thank you for the compliment. Then we will take our leave now.”

“I hope we meet again.”

After bidding farewell to this mentor, I followed Big Sis Bai out of this teaching building.

This class showed me that Witch Academy truly offered all kinds of courses.

Even a course teaching people how to fall in love existed, but thinking about it, it didn’t seem wrong.

But Big Sis Bai at this moment…

“Big Sis Bai, did you learn anything in the Love Course these past few days? How about I give you a chance now to use those techniques on me? I’ll be very cooperative.”

I reached out and bumped Big Sis Bai with my elbow, asking with a smile.

“Alright.”

Big Sis Bai didn’t hesitate, but just as I was waiting, I was met with Big Sis Bai’s hands reaching for my waist.

“Huh? Tickling? Is that all… Haha… Ah! Eek Haha, stop… stop, haha, let me go.”

When I felt what Big Sis Bai was trying to do to me, I was about to say something stubborn, but the next moment, the instinctive ticklish reaction from my body immediately shattered all my confidence.

“Foul, foul! What is this!”

I immediately shouted after escaping Big Sis Bai’s clutches.

“Did you laugh happily just now? Little Han’s laughing voice was very cheerful, and the sound was very pleasant too.”

Big Sis Bai argued, acting as if nothing happened.

“Is… is that so?”

Suddenly being praised by Big Sis Bai like this, I subconsciously blushed.

I seemed to have… genuinely never laughed so freely and unreservedly before.

And as a Body Cultivator, I was unable to suppress my bodily instincts just now.

Big Sis Bai must have played some trick on me.

“Then I guess the technique passes.”

I did not continue to press Big Sis Bai, as I had listened to some of that class myself.

For couples who both needed to attend a Love Course, constantly trying to create expectations for the other party was a one-sided act of imposing pressure on the other.

Do not overly expect the other party to provide surprises.

This was an endless gamble.

One wrong move would not bring a surprise but disappointment, which was something neither party wanted.

Therefore, actively proposing suggestions that both parties could accept was the best process, and this process needed to be built upon a mutual understanding.

Otherwise, it would be equally awkward if the request made was something the other party could not fulfill.

“Does Big Sis Bai have her own arrangements next?”

“I don’t have any urgent arrangements. But you, Little Han, I heard you’ve been quite busy lately.”

“Oh, I’m not busy now. I just hadn’t adapted to the feeling of so many people helping me around before. Let’s not talk about that thing that makes my head swell. Since Big Sis Bai and I are both free, how about we do something more meaningful?”

“Alright, what does Little Han want to do?”

Big Sis Bai asked expectantly.

“Hmm… Big Sis Bai, what do you think? Should I… make a weapon for myself now?”

As I spoke, I took out the Short Wand that had been stored in my Storage Equipment for a long time.

Recalling the opening ceremony back then, Big Sis Bai had meticulously selected the materials and craftsmanship for this Magic Wand for a long time, but unfortunately, it hadn’t been used much in the end.

“Little Han wants to get a new weapon for herself?”

Big Sis Bai asked when she saw me take out the Magic Wand.

“Little Han doesn’t seem to have used this Magic Wand many times.”

“That’s right. After all, there weren’t many occasions to use this Magic Wand. I admit it can bring me some augmentation, but I have to say the effect is negligible.”

“Then why do you still want to get a new weapon?”

“Mainly because I have nothing else to do.”

I swung the Magic Wand in my hand and said with a smile.

“And Big Sis Bai, you know that quite a few mentors in the Witch Academy have recently acquired the Seed of Great Knowledge. This promotion is supported by the Academy Head. Well one of the rewards included in this is the opportunity to customize a weapon for me, and it will be customized using a rare material from the Academy Head’s collection. The Alchemist Master has also been introduced to me by the Academy Head. All that’s missing now is an inspiration from me for the customization.”

“So that’s how it is.”

“Right. As the saying goes, idle is idle, so why don’t we think about it together now? After all, I’m already a Teaching Assistant, so it’s normal to have a weapon that represents my identity, right? By the way, Big Sis Bai, do you want to customize one too?”

I asked curiously.

“That’s true, but I’ll pass. My demand for weapons isn’t high. Don’t forget that I have a Spell to summon weapons, which is more convenient to use.”

“That seems true, but… a Spell effect can’t compare to a tangible weapon, right?”

“Yes, but if the weapon summoned by a Spell breaks, I can just summon it again.”

Big Sis Bai said with a smile.

“It’s normal for a weapon to be damaged in Body Cultivator combat, so Little Han, just worry about yourself. But have you thought about what you want?”

“No, I haven’t… that’s why I asked Big Sis Bai to help me think.”

I playfully stuck out my tongue at Big Sis Bai.

“Does Big Sis Bai have any good suggestions?”

“Suggestions… I really haven’t thought about it. So, Little Han, do you still want a weapon in the form of a Magic Wand?”

“A Magic Wand… is too conventional and lacks any unique characteristics. I think I’ll pass. My essential requirement for the weapon isn’t high; it’s mainly about showcasing its uniqueness.”

“Then what is your uniqueness, Little Han? Are you particularly suggestive?”

“We’re talking about serious matters! Big Sis Bai, stop telling suggestive jokes.”

I gently waved my hand and patted Big Sis Bai’s side.

However, Big Sis Bai was right.

If I was looking for uniqueness, then what was my uniqueness?

What am I good at… This really seemed like a difficult question to answer.

I’m good at… Spellbooks?

Alchemy?

Runes… Research?

What about the uniqueness?

“Alright then, have you considered a weapon that can combine the two powers of Spell Casting and Body Cultivation?”

Big Sis Bai asked again at this moment.

“This… I haven’t thought about it. How can the power of Body Cultivation be incorporated?”

“The weapon type, such as a sword or a staff, or other types of weapons, just need to be compatible with Spell Casting.”

Big Sis Bai explained to me.

“Oh, so that’s how it is…”

I thought it meant incorporating the power of Body Cultivation.

I didn’t expect it was simply the weapon type assisting in combat.

“But… wouldn’t a sword or something similar clash with your weapon, Big Sis Bai?”

“Is Little Han afraid of that? You used to like this kind of thing, the kind where you’d swing any straight stick you found…”

“Hey, hey, hey! Don’t bring up that black history!”

“Alright So you don’t want swords or anything similar? Hmm… In that case, let’s go and ask the Alchemist Master the Academy Head arranged for you. Since it’s a custom order, asking her should give you some good options.”

Big Sis Bai ultimately did not offer any further personal opinions.

Professional matters should be left to the professionals.

I completely agreed with this.

Since we couldn’t discuss any conclusion, then let the other party make the choices.

This time, I was going to be the ’Client’ and make crazy demands!

The solution you provided is excellent and gave me a lot of inspiration.

Although I don’t know what I want, you let me know what I don’t want.

I suddenly understood the pain of the ’Contractor’...

Therefore, under Big Sis Bai’s suggestion, I also started to contact that Alchemist Master.

According to the contact information the Academy Head gave me, the other party’s name was Natalie Bromfield.

The call connected shortly after I dialed the number.

A slightly lazy voice came from the other end.

“Hello, who is this?”

“Hello, Teacher Natalie, I am Yang Yuehan, introduced by Academy Head Mei Linde. I would like to ask…”

“Oh! You’re Little Han, right! You finally contacted me!”

“Eh?”

Before I could finish my polite sentence, the other party’s tone suddenly became excited as if she had thought of something.

That tone sounded as if she had seen a… prey.

I originally thought I would have to humbly ask her for help.

After all, an Alchemist Master introduced by the Academy Head must be highly sought after in Witch Academy, right?

Perhaps the kind of person who was normally very busy.

The other party acting like this, on the contrary, flattered me.

“What’s wrong? You want to customize a weapon, right? Are you free now? Should I come to you or do you come to me?”

“Oh… I do want to customize a weapon, but I am free now, so I’ll come to you. Could you please send me your location later?”

“Yes, yes, please come quickly.”

“Mmm, alright, I’ll hang up now.”

After hanging up the phone, I still felt somewhat flattered.

I looked at Big Sis Bai, believing she must have heard my conversation with this mentor just now.

“That’s so strange, Big Sis Bai. An Alchemist Master is so enthusiastic about me. Shouldn’t people of this status usually be aloof?”

I asked curiously.

“Little Han, where did you hear all these strange common sense facts?”

Big Sis Bai’s expression was also strange as she looked at me.

“Isn’t it? After all, an Alchemist Master! There should be many people who want to ask her to help them refine some kind of alchemical weapon, right?”

“That’s true, but it’s not as exaggerated as you say. Everyone here is a Transcendent Witch. At least in Witch Academy, she isn’t in a position where everyone needs her help. Just be normal. Treat her as a mentor. As for her being so enthusiastic towards you… perhaps she has heard much about you? After all, Little Han, you’ve been a hot topic in the Transcendent Witch circle lately.”

“Is that so? Then I’m even more flattered…”

“Don’t think too much about it. Perhaps it’s simply because she has a good relationship with the Academy Head? Most Witches are very enthusiastic; you’ll get used to it. Besides… this also means you won’t have too many obstacles in discussing the custom weapon with her, right?”

“Mmm,” I nodded.

Big Sis Bai was right.

The other party was so enthusiastic, regardless of the reason.

After all, I was the one who needed something from her and would be troubling her.

Such a relationship was also beneficial for me to communicate with her about the weapon customization issue.

However, even now, I hadn’t made a final decision.

As for the choice of weapon, instead of lacking inspiration, should I say I was too greedy?

I had the illusion that I wanted everything, mainly because I didn’t have a fixed combat style, which led me to want to try everything.

For example, a Magic Wand, which is convenient to hold.

A sword or blade, which might allow me to learn a few moves from Big Sis Bai.

A Magical Artifact, a delicately constructed object floating in my hand, would also be very novel.

Even a book could work, which would be very consistent with my temperament as an Academic Witch!

And opening the book could turn it into a Magical Artifact, while closing it could deliver a ’knowledge critical hit’ to the opponent.

Thinking this way, I suddenly felt that the form of a book seemed quite good… but I hadn’t made the final decision yet.

In any case, let’s go and see Teacher Natalie first.

One always has to broaden one’s horizons to understand what one truly wants.
