Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 537: The Shop Manager’s Trouble

“Eh—eh?”

When I arrived at the Bakery Club, I was directly met with a closed door.

I originally thought I would run into Shop Manager Xia Li here, but I didn’t expect to be greeted by a closed door.

But Destiny couldn’t have guided me here just to hit a dead end, right?

No, no!

Something must be wrong.

I didn’t remember the Bakery Club closing for no reason.

I even worked here part-time during the holidays, and I’d never seen it closed.

So, something must have happened, right?

I went up and looked inside through the glass door.

The shop was a bit dim, and a notice of temporary closure was posted on the glass door.

It seemed like it had been newly posted not long ago.

“Something must have really happened. Could it be that what I said last time was too harsh, making those girls cry, and now there’s no one to support the daily business?”

I muttered to myself jokingly, but I still performed an Appraisal Spell on this place, wanting to get a general idea of what had happened.

The information was organized quickly, and there was a lot of it, but the result came out very slowly.

This was because it wasn’t an Appraisal of a specific object, but a summary of a specific event over a span of several days in a single area, so the Appraisal Spell seemed a bit strained.

It seemed that regarding the research of the Appraisal Spell, I had found a new research direction and modification guide for them.

After all, when encountering problems in practice, you could then solve them.

Just as I joined in organizing this information, a shout suddenly interrupted my train of thought.

“Hmm? Is that Little Han?”

“Senior Ying Shiqian?”

I turned around and saw the figure, a bit surprised.

I didn’t expect to meet her at this time.

Could this be the so-called guidance of Destiny?

“It really is you? Oh my, don’t call me senior. Little Han is a Teaching Assistant now. I can’t bear such a title.”

Ying Shiqian quickly said with a smile.

“It’s fine, Senior Ying Shiqian. I’m used to calling you that anyway. But, senior, what are you doing here? Also, why is the Bakery Club closed?”

I asked curiously, pointing at the closed shop door.

“Oh, the Bakery Club being closed is a troublesome matter. I came here mainly because I left something behind and only remembered when I needed to use it.”

Ying Shiqian walked up, took out a key, opened the door, and led me into the somewhat dim Bakery Club.

Ying Shiqian then rummaged around at the cashier counter with her back to me and quickly retrieved the item.

“Hehe… that’s a secret, so I won’t tell Little Han what I left here.”

Ying Shiqian smiled and quickly brushed the matter aside.

I didn’t probe further.

After all, although she said it was a secret, she wasn’t particularly trying to hide it.

It was just a small thing.

“Then I won’t probe further. Then tell me about the Bakery Club. I came here not long ago and didn’t see anything wrong. What exactly happened?”

I asked, changing the subject.

Since I met an acquaintance here, I naturally didn’t need to use the Appraisal Spell to search for information.

After all, an unrestricted Appraisal Spell was a serious invasion of personal privacy.

“Yes, something did happen, but it’s not a big deal, at least not for us. But it was a big blow to the Shop Manager.”

At this point, Ying Shiqian couldn’t help but sigh.

“Something happened to the Shop Manager? What could have happened to her?”

I followed the senior out of the Bakery Club, and she locked the door behind us.

“Hmm, Little Han, are you free? There’s a coffee shop not far from here. My treat. Let me tell you about it?”

“Sure, then I’ll be troubling seniors.”

I was a bit surprised, but I agreed to Ying Shiqian’s treat first.

I hadn’t expected the situation to be so complicated that it couldn’t be explained in a few words.

We came to an outdoor seat at a small coffee shop here.

I ordered a classic hand-brewed coffee, while Ying Shiqian ordered a caramel coffee.

“Little Han, do you still remember the Shop Manager’s little treasury we talked about before?”

Ying Shiqian asked as soon as she sat down.

“Of course, I remember. Hmm… I almost forgot, the Shop Manager seems to still owe me a small gift.”

“Little Han still remembers that?”

“Of course. For that, several people at the Holy Angel Academy at the time suffered a great deal.”

I said with a smile.

“By the way, let’s not talk about this. And then?”

“And then…”

Ying Shiqian’s voice lowered as she spoke.

“Little Han, do you still remember the most precious thing in the Shop Manager’s little treasury?”

“The most precious… oh, that [Transcendent Knowledge]!”

I immediately thought of that and also whispered back.

“Yes, that’s it. The Shop Manager… seems to have been targeted quite a bit. I estimate that in the end, she will have to give that thing away under pressure.”

“Give it away? Who’s targeting her?”

I became slightly interested.

I had previously learned that the [Transcendent Knowledge] in the Shop Manager’s possession was part of the original Script design, so I had no intention of touching it after learning about it.

I didn’t expect someone to want it now.

My first thought was that someone was tired of living, but I quickly realized something was wrong.

Maybe this was an event driven by the Script?

After all, [Transcendent Knowledge] was no small matter, and quite a few Witches wanted it.

It was impossible for anyone to dare to plot for it like this.

“The ones who came that time were the guys from the Wan Shi Wu Club. Does Little Han know about the Wan Shi Wu Club?”

“Wan Shi Wu Club, hmm… I know a little about it.”

I quickly nodded.

After all, one of the two seniors I met during the written test was a member of the Wan Shi Wu Club.

I remember that one… seemed to be called Fu Xinglan?

I still had their contact information, and they also took my business card.

“It’s good that you know. If that club wants to make a move against our Bakery Club, we are absolutely no match for them in terms of size.”

Speaking of this, Ying Shiqian was also a little scared.

As an Old Fritter who had been around the Witch Academy for a long time, she had a rough idea of which groups, clubs, and communities in the academy could not be provoked, and the Wan Shi Wu Club was an existence that absolutely could not be provoked!

Even Little Han was best not to confront them head-on.

After all, within those more terrifying clubs, who didn’t have a few club members who had become Teaching Assistants?

The Witch Academy had been passed down for so long.

Those clubs that had been established until now and hadn’t been disbanded all had their own set of operational and inheritance systems.

“Then, Senior Ying Shiqian, do you know why they suddenly came to snatch it?”

I continued to ask.

At this moment, our coffee was also delivered.

I picked up my cup and then looked at Ying Shiqian with some curiosity.

“I’m not very clear. It doesn’t seem to be a snatch, but rather to make the Shop Manager make a choice. I heard it’s related to the Struggle for Destiny. They don’t want to fall out with the Shop Manager just yet.”

“There’s a lot going on in this matter.”

I said with some surprise.

It seemed the Script was really at work.

Now even the large clubs were starting the so-called Struggle for Destiny?

It should be a conflict over choosing sides…

“Yes, but I don’t know much about it either. Ever since the Shop Manager had a private talk with the people from the Wan Shi Wu Club, she has become a little quiet and won’t explain the situation to me, and she even closed the shop directly.”

“Then… Senior Ying Shiqian, do you know where the Shop Manager is now?”

I continued to ask.

If I knew, I wouldn’t mind going over to ask clearly.

After all, I had plenty of time.

“I don’t know, but… I heard the Shop Manager say she wants to meet Tan Han. She should be waiting for her school-leaving application to be approved these two days, or it may have already been approved and she’s gone to find Tan Han.”

“School-leaving application? Isn’t this the holidays… do you still need to apply?”

“Oh, this is for us who have graduated and are still staying at the academy. After all, the power we wield is too great, and they don’t want to just let us go. We are considered unstable elements, so it’s quite troublesome to leave the campus. However, some special missions can allow for a quick exit. The Shop Manager might have casually accepted an out-of-campus mission and left.”

“So that’s how it is.”

I nodded.

I didn’t expect to completely miss her this time.

The Shop Manager wasn’t even at the Witch Academy!

Then, I chatted with Senior Ying Shiqian for a while longer, mainly about the details of this matter, but unfortunately, Senior Ying Shiqian really didn’t know much.

However, I did get a piece of seemingly useful information, which was that the [Transcendent Knowledge] the Shop Manager possessed was only a part of a complete whole.

It seemed that the Shop Manager had obtained it before she graduated, and it hadn’t been that many years ago.

Ying Shiqian was also not very clear about what Xia Li experienced back then, only knowing a general idea.

And the form of that incomplete [Transcendent Knowledge] seemed to be a crystal crown, and its other name was “Absolute Zero.”

As for whether it was truly absolute zero, I also discussed it for a while.

Ying Shiqian said she was not very clear, but it was highly likely.

Ying Shiqian had no concept of [Transcendent Knowledge], so it was just a guess, but I knew its terror.

If it was just a fragment, reaching the absolute zero of the material world, which was the complete cessation of movement of material particles, was entirely possible.

It was just that the difficulty was very high.

However, this level of difficulty was something that even the Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell that Tan Han once possessed might not necessarily be able to achieve, and I, by continuously deriving from a basic ice-type Evocation Spell, also might not necessarily be able to achieve it.

Otherwise, how could it be called [Transcendent Knowledge]?

I personally felt that absolute zero might also involve the properties of material space at the micro level, which was difficult to achieve simply by relying on Elemental Energy itself.

After all, the energy level of Transcendent Elemental Energy was relatively low, and it only affected the visible material world, obeying the objective physical laws of the material world to a certain extent.

But now, we were not discussing absolute zero, but the matter the Shop Manager was encountering.

I took a small sip of coffee and was about to ask something else, but at this moment, I suddenly felt an unusual movement.

“What’s wrong, Little Han?”

Ying Shiqian also noticed that my expression had become a little strange.

“Oh, it seems someone is calling me,” I said casually.

But in fact, I was feeling the positioning of the Reverse Summoning Spell.

It was just that this summoning was a bit strange.

And the Reverse Summoning Spell I mastered now had been updated to many versions.

Basically, each business card would be distinguished to correspond to who I gave it to.

But this summoning was… a very primitive summoning ritual, which was the small alchemical item I made at the very beginning to carry the summoning ritual.

At that time, I didn’t give out many.

Qiu Ruxin was one, and the few in the dormitory were also counted, but I replaced them for them later.

So, there weren’t many people who still had those.

“Calling you? Why didn’t I hear anything?”

Ying Shiqian was also a bit surprised and then looked around, confirming that there was no one calling Little Han nearby.

“Oh, I was referring to a kind of Spell. I’m really sorry, I might have to leave you for a while.”

I put down the coffee and said apologetically to Senior Ying Shiqian.

“It’s fine. I know Little Han is very busy. Go ahead.”

Ying Shiqian quickly reacted and did not say anything more, but directly bade farewell to me.

“Thank you, then I’ll leave first.”

I also nodded, and a ritual formation of a Reverse Summoning Spell appeared under my feet.

The next moment, my figure disappeared from here.

Ying Shiqian looked at the empty seat opposite her, a hint of envy flashing in her eyes, followed by a sigh, and finally a smile of relief.

“Hehe In any case, I am a friend of Little Han now. Saying this out loud would be quite impressive.”

Ying Shiqian was just a little emotional.

It felt like not much time had passed, and the previously shy Little Han had in the blink of an eye become a big shot she couldn’t even cling to.

…

“Damn it… how did these guys target me?”

At this moment, Xia Li was having a hard time avoiding the guys in the distance, several Spells concealing her aura and the overflowing signals.

Those guys, like mad dogs, had suddenly targeted her.

In order to catch her, they even used terrifyingly powerful weapons to blow up several buildings along the way!

This series of explosions had already caused panic among everyone in the vicinity, and this was probably the largest area affected by the recent Transcendent terrorists.

She also tried to communicate with the other party, but they gave her no chance at all.

Also… the power of the thermal weapons those guys used was not right.

It was probably an alchemical item with a peculiar shape.

Or… it could be those Wizard Tools from the Wizard Academy.

On the other side.

Opposite Xia Li, unbeknownst to her, the guys carrying out the terrorist attack were the Players who had descended from the game world.

Originally, they should not have been so reckless, but when they were collecting information about this world, they suddenly received a mandatory mission from the Myriad Worlds Terminal!

This was the first time they had encountered this kind of mission.

The priority of this mission was extremely high. It was a mission jointly issued by the highest-level Game Architects and the Myriad Worlds Terminal.

For this reason, those high-level Game Architects, whom they usually couldn’t even see, directly established communication with them and took over the command authority over them.

They only needed to be responsible to these Game Architects.

And they did not need to bear the consequences of this incident.

So, these vanguard explorers were very clear that they might have encountered something good this time.

But at this moment, only those Game Architects who directly controlled the Myriad Worlds Terminal understood what good thing they had encountered.

They were almost going crazy!

This time, by unintentionally entering this world, they had directly encountered something on the same level as the core of the Myriad Worlds Terminal!

They called [Transcendent Knowledge] the ”Technology Core.”

If they could obtain a second Technology Core, it would be worth any price.

This opportunity was extremely rare, so they couldn’t be bothered with testing the depths of this world’s Transcendent beings.

They had to get their hands on it before those terrifyingly powerful Transcendent beings reacted!

After getting their hands on it, even if they immediately left this world, there would be no problem.

This harvest was far more terrifying than the value of a world itself!

The only problem now was how to receive this ”Technology Core.”
