Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 506: It Should Be Me Thanking You…

“I won’t see you off, alright? If there’s a chance next semester, you can try out the Physical Arts courses, just for the sake of body strengthening…”

Only after I watched Tan Han and the others leave did Big Sis Bai speak up beside me.

“You just gave the Spellbooks back? Including the Super Consumption Spellbook?”

Big Sis Bai’s tone didn’t contain much confusion, just a hint of curiosity, and an expectation for my response.

“Yes, I didn’t expect a casual joke back then would bring me so much trouble.”

I shook my head with a wry smile, recalling the off-hand comment I made back in Ninglan New City about wanting all her Spellbooks.

I hadn’t expected it to cause the current situation.

Regardless of whether Tan Han was serious at the time, my words definitely gave her that opportunity, making her realize her reliance on the inherent power of Spellbooks.

And similarly, that trip to Ninglan New City exposed the concepts of the Child of Destiny and the Script, which induced the spontaneous gathering of followers and promoted the birth of the Tan Han Support Group.

However, all of this looked great on the surface, but the actual situation was that the members of the formed Support Group were of mixed quality, leading to Tan Han now being too large to control.

The entire process was about creating conflict, discovering a problem, making a resolute decision, and solving the problem—a very old yet enduring error correction mechanism.

Hadn’t Tan Han discovered these problems right away?

She had, but the problem wouldn’t be solved just because Tan Han discovered it, because if she acted too rashly, she would eliminate herself along with it.

She would be isolated, and the situation would likely be forced into a state similar to mine previously.

Not everyone could endure complete isolation, especially someone like Tan Han, who had grown up under the halo of genius and was the center of everyone’s attention.

“Is that so? Then, Little Han, do you regret it?”

“Regret? What is regret? It just makes the fun more winding and watchable, that’s all.”

I changed my posture, turned sideways to face Big Sis Bai, reached out, and took the Coconut Big Sis Bai had just been drinking.

As the sweet coconut milk flowed into my mouth through the straw, mixed with Big Sis Bai’s flavor, my heart was also filled with satisfaction.

“What about the Spellbooks then?”

“Big Sis Bai is quite conflicted about the issue of Spellbooks.”

I chuckled, but it was easy to understand.

After all, a Spellbook represents power, and it also represents resources!

Moreover, it’s a resource that can be circulated among Transcendent Witches!

“It’s not that I’m conflicted about Spellbooks. Once I advanced to a Transcendent Witch, I basically said goodbye to the urgent need for Spellbooks. I told you this before, remember?”

“Spellbooks can be bought from the Primal Witch, right?”

I recalled what Big Sis Bai had told me then.

The Primal Witch presided over the Witch’s Great Library, which was formed from the entire Witch World.

That Great Library archived all the heritage of the entire Witch race, and also included the consignment of Spellbooks.

Thus, any Transcendent Witch could buy the Spellbooks consigned there, or Spellbooks donated or returned to the Witch’s Great Library, but the purchase needed to be made, and could only be made, with Magic Power Source.

“Yes, the prices of the Spellbooks there, especially the ordinary Spellbooks at the bottom layer, are ridiculously low, and the inventory is quite large. Even a single Magic Power Source is enough to buy an Evocation Spell like a Fireball, and sometimes it’s buy-one-get-one-free. As for Advanced Spellbooks, they are either very expensive or have no stock at all. You can only find the data that this Spellbook exists and has been archived.”

“So that’s how it is?”

I chuckled.

Combining what I knew about the scarcity of Spellbooks in the Witch Academy back then with the current uncontrollable proliferation of low-level Spellbooks, there seemed to be a reason.

A single Magic Power Source can be exchanged for a basic Spellbook—this is truly a huge profit.

No wonder entry and exit to the Main World require review and qualification.

Aside from the Main World’s own carrying capacity limit for Transcendent life, judging by the value exchange between Magic Power Source and Spellbooks in the Main World… if any Transcendent Witch wanted to earn the price difference, they would probably be able to instantly break the balance of the Witch Academy.

But there is also a main possibility, which is that the Main World is relatively barren, lacking even the basic conditions for the circulation of things like Magic Power Source and Spellbooks.

Of course, if a Transcendent Witch still wanted to earn Magic Power Source and Spellbooks in the Main World… doing such a thing excessively might even invite the Academy Head’s righteous retribution.

“That’s right. When I learned all this, my perception of Spellbooks quietly changed. There’s really no need to rush around for Spellbooks in the Witch Academy.”

“When you advance to a Transcendent Witch, the Spellbooks you once wanted can all be bought from the Primal Witch. A Spellbook that can circulate in the Witch Academy cannot be so luxurious that it cannot be found in the Great Library. Because such a Spellbook would arouse greed even in Transcendent Witches, especially against a student who is not yet a Transcendent Witch. That is truly having a treasure brings trouble.”

“So Big Sis Bai said all this just to give me a lecture, is that right?”

I listened carefully to what Big Sis Bai was saying; I was indeed very interested in these matters.

“Of course… Little Han, you have too many secrets, so I unconsciously started giving you a lecture.”

“It’s fine. Big Sis Bai’s lecture… I love to hear it.”

Of course, whether I can take it to heart might be another matter entirely.

After joking and chatting with Big Sis Bai for a while, I took out my phone and logged onto the Academy Network.

The Joint Exam was over, and this area could connect to the Academy Network again.

What I was doing now was looking for fun.

What kind of fun?

Just Tan Han’s fun, that’s all.

Although this series of events was quite troublesome, it was nothing more than a self-important misunderstanding.

Without knowing the whole picture, it was fine to view everything as entertainment.

For example, if I deduced the process from the result of this incident, I could even conclude that Tan Han planned it all herself.

After all, she was the biggest beneficiary in the end.

With the help of the Script, she completed a plan she didn’t fully understand herself and solved her own troubles.

But from a student’s perspective, my own calculations within this matter were also numerous: calculating against the former genius, suppressing all the Children of Destiny…

But!

Where in the world are there so many calculations?

I was just looking for fun, that’s all.

Once this point was clarified, many things could be viewed with an open mind.

I looked at the information Tan Han posted on the Academy Network, announcing the severance of her relationship with the Tan Han Support Group, expressing her determination to retrieve the Spellbooks, and demanding apologies from those who had followed the crowd and insulted others… It could be said that Tan Han’s sincerity on the Academy Network was fully demonstrated.

After all, doing something like this required Tan Han to bear immense pressure.

A considerable portion of the Tan Han Support Group was already turning around and biting Tan Han now.

However, the Joint Exam had just ended, and what they did was even more disheartening to Tan Han.

Anyone with a clear eye could see that Tan Han’s decision was sound.

After all, the only ones who were upset were the opportunistic fair-weather friends who gained nothing.

Looking at this information, one could foresee that another storm of public opinion would sweep through the Witch Academy during this holiday—the final rage of the incompetent.

But amidst this, I saw the shadow of the Witch’s Secret Realm Club and the Wan Shi Wu Club.

This reminded me of the two seniors, Fu Xinglan and Tracy, I met during the written exam, especially Tracy.

She had told me before she left that their Witch’s Secret Realm Club would also help at critical moments.

At first, I thought it was just polite conversation.

But… thinking about it, it makes sense.

After all, I was a Teaching Assistant now, which made it worthwhile for them to show goodwill toward me in advance.

When I finally got tired of browsing my phone, I turned it off and looked at Big Sis Bai, “This is boring… What are your plans now, Big Sis Bai?”

“Finally tired of playing?”

Hearing my words, Big Sis Bai smiled, stood up, and walked toward me.

Then she took off my Sunglasses.

“Eh? Hey!! Big Sis Bai, what are you doing?!”

In my puzzled gaze, Big Sis Bai reached out and picked me up, in the most shameful Princess Carry way!

“P-put me down, there are so many people here…”

I appropriately showed a trace of panic, then my gaze quickly glanced at the Shadow of Knowledge next to us… Good, good, good, so you were the one giving Big Sis Bai advice, right?

I was being kind by not probing what Big Sis Bai was doing, and this guy was colluding with Big Sis Bai to pull a big one on me?

“Shh Don’t be too loud You don’t want others to notice that you, who are already a Teaching Assistant, are being carried in such a shameful posture, right?”

“Ugh…”

I was blocked by Big Sis Bai’s single sentence and stopped struggling.

I just wrapped my arms around Big Sis Bai’s neck.

At this moment, Big Sis Bai’s outfit brought us into near skin-to-skin contact.

The slight swaying and friction during her walking, coupled with the contact between our bodies, made me feel a unique sense of enjoyment…

Realizing my lapse in control, I quickly adjusted my mentality and secretly scolded myself: Physical Arts tactile sensation practice is not supposed to be used like this, hey!

“Are you sure others won’t pay attention?”

I cautiously asked, then looked to the side.

Indeed, no one was curiously staring at us.

“Others can see, but they won’t deliberately pay attention. They might if your movements are too intense, though.”

“Is this… lowered presence?”

“It’s just a method of cognitive correction.”

Big Sis Bai said with a smile.

An ordinary branch under the Great Project of the Soul, whose soul life essence has a natural advantage over Soul-substance.

The power derived from the project is an absolute Dimensionality Reduction Attack for beings whose life essence is still Soul-substance.

It could be said that the Witch race, after mastering the soul life essence, should have remained hidden so they could have absolute suppression over Void life forms in terms of life essence.

But the Witch race did not do this.

Because both the Truth Witch of Soul and the Primal Witch firmly believed that promoting this concept throughout the Void would bring about an explosive rise and expansion in the Void life forms’ use and development of the soul.

Pressure brings motivation, and competition brings improvement.

And the Witch race was confident enough to firmly believe that Witches would not lose in this aspect of the competition!

This decision made all races in the Void feel the Witch race’s arrogance, but only the Primal Witch believed it was confidence, a stature that a Transcendent race capable of leading the Void should possess.

“Big Sis Bai, where are you taking me…”

I watched Big Sis Bai walk toward the seaside with me, a little curious for a moment.

I didn’t try to get information from Big Sis Bai’s Shadow of Knowledge; I wanted Big Sis Bai to personally satisfy this feeling of anticipation!

“To play in the water How boring would it be to go to the seaside and not play in the water…”

“Play in the water?”

I was stunned, not expecting the answer to be so simple.

And Big Sis Bai had already carried me to the seaside.

Small waves crashed against Big Sis Bai’s calves, and the splashing waves wetted one side of my skirt.

“Wait… um, I don’t know how to swim yet…”

I whispered.

After all, I hadn’t learned to swim in either of my two lives, nor had I ever tried.

Although with my current physical fitness, I shouldn’t drown, I just hadn’t mastered the corresponding technique yet.

“Hmm? Little Han doesn’t know how to swim? Then you should definitely get into the water. It’s embarrassing to not know how to swim at your age, and you should know that this bikini you’re wearing is swimwear.”

Big Sis Bai said as she walked me further out.

The splashing waves had already soaked my hips and toes, and the ends of my scattered silver-white hair were also wet.

“Eh? Hey! Ooh… gurgle gurgle… W-ah.”

Just when I wasn’t ready, Big Sis Bai suddenly let go, and I was plunged into the seawater.

After a brief struggle, I ”laboriously” surfaced.

After I stood up, the seawater was only up to my waist.

A wave washed over me, making my footing unstable in the water, and I stumbled and fell back into the water.

“How does it feel?”

Big Sis Bai reached out to help me up after I fell.

“Mmm… not bad…”

Being held by Big Sis Bai like this, I leaned my whole body on her, my face pressed tightly against Big Sis Bai’s abdomen.

This feeling was indeed quite nice.

“Is that so?”

Big Sis Bai quickly realized the oddity in my tone, then lifted me up and gave me another ”facial cleanser”

“How about this?”

“Wuwu… mm…!”

After such happiness was thrust upon me, I almost suffocated from being unable to fully enjoy it… If Big Sis Bai hadn’t gone easy on me, I might have met my end here today.

“I surrender… um… let’s learn to swim… I’ll learn to swim, will Big Sis Bai teach me how to swim?”

I immediately chose to surrender and said.

“Alright Come on, Big Sis Bai will take you into the deep sea. If you learn to swim and dive, you will witness an even more beautiful world.”

……

“Here, take this.”

Tan Han took out a Spellbook from her storage equipment and handed it toward Xiao You.

“This…”

Xiao You looked at the Spellbook Tan Han handed over.

Although Spellbooks generally looked like light clusters from the outside, Xiao You immediately recognized this as the Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell!

“Since I gave it to you, then take it. And these remaining Spellbooks… you all should share them too. As for the ones not yet retrieved… I will find a way to retrieve them with you.”

“But… Big Sis Tan Han, these were originally your Spellbooks. Why are you giving them all to us? Even though we…”

“These Spellbooks are not mine. They are personal rewards given to us by Teaching Assistant Little Han for our outstanding contributions in the Joint Exam. Take them.”

Tan Han said, her tone firm.

“But… Big Sis Tan Han, I really don’t deserve such kindness…”

“You saved me in the final moments of this Joint Exam and managed to turn the tide to end the Joint Exam early. This is what you deserve.”

At this, everyone fell silent.

“Take them. It should be me thanking you all… for still being willing to follow me.”
