Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 526: What is the value of the Destiny Gazing Technique?

“According to reports, an incident of a malicious nature occurred in Modu just yesterday. It was a terrorist attack jointly launched by three individuals, who purposefully targeted three public areas with high population density, engaging in indiscriminate harm and robbery. The incident resulted in a total of 32 deaths, with the number of injured reaching over a hundred by incomplete statistics, and countless property losses. Currently, no Transcendent Academy has claimed responsibility for the incident, and the terrorists are suspected of possessing Transcendent power, preliminarily inferred to be a loosely organized, unregistered civilian Transcendent organization…”

As this piece of news report caused an uproar in the outside world, a large number of discussions immediately erupted online.

Regarding this kind of Transcendent attack incident, the Main World usually chose to suppress the news, revealing as little as possible.

However, the fact that it was reported without any concealment this time truly made many people detect an anomaly, and moreover… this was in Modu!

Modu was the territory of the Witches, and an incident of such a malicious nature occurring in the Witch’s territory was indeed like slapping the Witch Academy’s face.

But before the incident could shock the entire globe, similar patterns of unregulated terrorist attacks seemed to appear successively in various parts of the world.

For a time, the ordinary people’s heated discussion about Transcendent beings continuously intensified, and the theory of the Transcendent threat once again circulated in the Main World as if reaching a new cycle.

Spontaneous protests and street demonstrations appeared in some regions, after all, this was a malicious incident that resulted in a large number of ordinary people’s deaths!

But looking back at the history and past of the Main World, it was evident that the rules ingrained in ordinary people a feeling of both fear and longing for the Transcendent world, and generations of peace gradually made ordinary people forget the terror of the Transcendent.

And soon, the various Transcendent Academies also quietly issued tasks related to investigating the Transcendent incidents, and then issued a notice of precautions to the students who had already left the school, emphasizing that they must not use Transcendent power for wrongdoing outside of school, but also that they should be good at using their own power for self-protection when encountering Transcendent incidents, and so on.

The incident slowly fermented in this way, waiting to be ignited.

And the incident that happened in Modu naturally spread to the Academy Network within the Witch Academy.

Currently, the Witch Academy had already issued a mission for the Modu incident, intervening in the matter, so this incident also entered my line of sight.

Originally, I was not interested in this matter.

After all, it was the holiday period, and the Transcendent students had left the school.

If someone had ill intentions, it would indeed trigger a Transcendent incident, which was nothing unusual.

However, what made me pay attention to this incident was the Witch Academy’s attitude towards it.

They just posted a mission on the academy task board and issued a notice, and that was it.

This was a heinous act carried out in Modu!

The Witch Academy was an existence built upon Modu, so did this not equate to implicitly ambushing their base?

And when I realized something was wrong… my first suspicion was… this was a part of the Script.

In fact, calculating the time, the interval between the Script nodes was roughly just like this.

“Little Han, why are you suddenly interested in this matter?”

Seeing that I was suddenly interested in an external news story, a Transcendent Witch next to me also leaned over and asked curiously.

“Eh? Big Sis Qiong, you know about this too?”

I asked curiously.

The Big Sis Qiong I mentioned was Qiong Onions in full name, one of the professional Witches introduced by the Academy Head to link the Academy Network operating system.

She was the character primarily responsible for communicating with me during the process of connecting the Great Tree of Knowledge with the Academy Network, but since this matter would be completed soon, she entrusted it to her sister whom she brought over, while she mainly communicated with me in advance about matters related to the Great Tree of Knowledge’s Firewall.

“I know some, but Little Han, there’s no need for you to get involved, right? It’s just a small matter, no need to waste too much mental effort on it.”

“Oh, I just saw it unintentionally, but I’m still curious… isn’t the Witch Academy going to manage it? Or is there something else hidden about this incident?”

In fact, I wanted to ask if this incident was related to the Script.

After all, having mastered Transcendent power in a Transcendent Academy, there was usually no place to showcase it.

Now that they were home for the holidays, as a Child of Destiny, they should naturally have some kind of encounter in the outside world, such as suddenly being attacked, then turning the danger into safety, and then discovering that this seemed to be involved with some organization, finally following the clues during the holiday to eliminate a civilian evil Transcendent organization, adding another stroke to their life journey.

Although this plot conjecture was a bit cliché, it was indeed possible.

“Alright, alright… Actually, I don’t know much about this either, but it does indeed have something to do with that kind of relationship… It’s best if Little Han doesn’t blindly interfere with this matter.”

“Is it the so-called Destiny Script?”

I asked directly, making it clear.

“Little Han, you guessed it?”

Seeing me make it clear, she did not try to cover it up and asked back.

“Didn’t this matter already spread? How could I not know.”

I shrugged and said, “I really don’t want to get involved anymore, but… I’m still very curious about it. Big Sis Qiong, what do you usually rely on to learn this information?”

“That’s true… In that case, I won’t bother concealing it either, but what I know is nothing more than hearing gossip from other Witches. You have to know that Witches talk about everything when they chat, oh it’s already afternoon tea time. Would you like to come to my place for some dessert?”

“Hmm… Thank you, but I’ll pass. Take care, I wish you a pleasant afternoon tea time.”

After a simple farewell, I also turned around.

During this time, I had a rough understanding of the routines of the Transcendent Witches.

No matter how urgent the matter was, Witches would always make some time for themselves to relax, even when studying Grand Spellbooks.

After my special permission, a certain part of my villa was temporarily used as the location for the tea party.

Of course, it was not just for afternoon tea.

Witches also liked to enter the Primal Dream State through the Primal Dream State and play with other Witches.

For Transcendent Witches, the Primal Dream State was a platform provided for them to socialize and gather with Witches from different worlds.

It was a Dream State constructed world that belonged to the Witches, which was clearly a completely different place from the Dream State world that students usually entered.

I also heard their descriptions of the colorful world inside.

I heard that there was also a dedicated Dream State area constructed for the Witch Academy of this Main World within the Primal Dream State to provide information exchange for the Witches inside the academy, but I was not yet qualified to step into it because I did not possess the Spell to enter the Primal Dream State, and the Primal Dream States entered by relying on equipment were all scenes set up by the Witch Academy.

However, I was not particularly envious.

After all… I was not mentally prepared to communicate with the Witches there.

Just the current contact I had with these Transcendent Witches in the academy was exhausting enough.

And the current me clearly had other things to do.

Since the Script had already been edited, the Destiny would likely fluctuate significantly.

This was a great opportunity, an opportunity to further improve my Destiny Gazing Technique Spell!

At the current stage, my research with Fool’s Dream regarding the spiritual communication of the Sea of the Dream State had temporarily reached a bottleneck, but the experiments so far had also proven the feasibility of this idea.

However, to complete it, many difficulties needed to be overcome, such as the problem I was facing now… the communication with the Sea of the Dream State also required a certain state of sleep for Fool’s Dream.

It was very strange.

I was also very shocked when I came to this conclusion, but after eliminating other variables, only this one remained.

But later, based on the suggestions of several Witches accompanying me for the test, they had Fool’s Dream change from sleeping to Spiritual Meditation.

Meditation was a more subjectively controllable attempt than sleep.

Currently, Fool’s Dream was testing what kind of Meditation could achieve the state most suitable for my requirements.

This required a large amount of trial and error to complete the predetermined goal.

And taking advantage of this time, and this opportune chance, I was also curious about the current direction of Destiny.

With the activation of the Destiny Gazing Technique, the Great Tree of Knowledge presented the corresponding information on the superficial movement of Destiny.

The large Destiny torrents I marked mostly represented the places where Destiny converged, which was the so-called Child of Destiny.

However, the superficial phenomenon presented by the current Destiny Gazing Technique… exhibited a situation I had never observed before.

“As expected, there is an anomaly. What does this represent?”

I looked at the information, confused and frowning.

The phenomena presented by Destiny were somewhat too abstract.

Even after the “translation” of the Destiny Gazing Technique, I could only roughly confirm the location of some Children of Destiny.

For example, at this moment, Lucianne had returned to the Witch Academy.

Although I was somewhat surprised why she chose to return to school, I speculated that it might be related to the Seed of Great Knowledge I gave her.

When I calculated this speculation into the variables, I found that this conjecture highly coincided with the form presented by Destiny.

This was the function of the Destiny Gazing Technique.

As long as enough was known, it was enough to deduce many things in the Script that could not be understood.

But precisely because of this, the difficulty of perfecting the Destiny Gazing Technique and completing the Destiny rules was far more terrifying than I had anticipated.

The current Destiny Gazing Technique was more similar to… a deduction game for passing the time.

It felt like something very suitable for Witches who had nothing better to do to play… Regarding the application of the Destiny Gazing Technique, it was merely a method I fostered from an inspiration triggered by the Earth Vein Information Appraisal Spell, so I did not mind exposing this technique.

Or rather, as I thought of this, I was already contemplating how to expose this thing and let those idle Witches help me perfect it.

My ambition for the Destiny Gazing Technique was to make it usable in any world where the Script was activated!

“Little Han.”

Just as I was thinking this, a familiar voice suddenly rang out behind me.

The voice startled me, and when I turned my head to look, it was indeed Academy Head Bev Ailana!

“Academy Head Bev?”

“That’s too unfamiliar. You call that Old Witch Mei, Big Sis Mei, and you’re unwilling to call me Big Sis Bev?”

Bev spoke with a hurt expression.

That time when Little Han signed the Lesser Witch Contract, that Old Witch Mei did not call her, which made her furious, but her main purpose for coming this time was to get something.

“Uh… Hello, Big Sis Bev.”

I smiled and called her again.

After all, she was the Academy Head, and she was so generous with her gifts, so calling her something sweet was natural, especially since the first time I met this Academy Head, she even demanded to be called Academy Head Ma’am.

“Hello.”

Bev was all smiles upon hearing this sweet address.

“By the way, I came here this time mainly to get the Seed of Great Knowledge. I was delayed by some things, so I’m only coming to pick it up this late.”

“Oh, it’s alright. I’ve always saved it for the Academy Head. The demand for the Seed of Great Knowledge has been quite large recently, but my production capacity is also steadily increasing. These are all my current reserves.”

“So many?”

Bev was surprised by the quantity I took out.

“No, I don’t need that much. The resources I gave back then weren’t much, and the Old Witch Mei only took less than ten…”

“That’s because it hadn’t been promoted yet, right? I’m practically giving out the Seed of Great Knowledge for free now. If I still calculated according to the previous value, it wouldn’t be fair to the Academy Head.”

“Free…”

Hearing this word, the corner of Bev’s mouth twitched subconsciously.

“You truly don’t want to earn a single penny. I finally understand why so many Witches are so keen on the Seed of Great Knowledge…”

After all, no one could refuse something for free, and Witches were no exception.

“Well it’s not entirely free. After all, the free things are the most expensive. Has the Academy Head heard that saying?”

“You little rascal, do you have other plans?”

Bev raised an eyebrow.

Could it be that she had misjudged me?

“Uh… not at the moment…”

“Isn’t that still giving it away for free?”

Academy Head Bev said irritably.

“But since you’re so generous, I’ll accept it first. Since that’s what you think, I won’t force it. I will help you hand over these Seeds of Great Knowledge to the Witches suitable for them. By the way, do you have any leads on the Spellbook I gave you earlier?”

“Spellbook? Oh, that one. I… uh, I haven’t had any time to try it yet, so I don’t know the specific situation. Aca… Big Sis Bev, are you very concerned about this?”

I scratched my head and asked awkwardly.

After all, the experiment related to that Spellbook had truly not been included in my plan list yet.

My time was already nearly filled by the two Grand Spellbooks, leaving absolutely no spare time for other things, especially recently.

Moreover, I genuinely did not lack things to research.

I simply had too many good things.

“Oh, that’s fine. I was mainly afraid that Little Han wouldn’t be able to handle that Spellbook. If you don’t want it, I can give you other Spellbooks.”

“There’s no need for the Academy Head to worry about that. I like to challenge difficulties. I don’t think there’s any Spellbook that is completely unusable. Thank you, Academy Head, for your concern.”

“Alright then, it’s a good thing that Little Han has confidence.”

Bev did not concern herself with the matter further.

Her attention was quickly drawn to the objects in front of me.

“Little Han, what are you busy with?”

“Oh, just some small attempts, related to Destiny.”

“Small attempts? Destiny? Anything that can involve Destiny is not a small attempt.”

Bev Ailana said with some surprise, then she leaned closer.

“Do you mind telling me about this? It looks a bit abstract.”

“Sure I just don’t know if this technique has any Practical Value, so please don’t laugh at me, Big Sis Bev…”

Seeing that the Academy Head looked interested, I also felt this was a good opportunity.

I just did not know if the Academy Head would be interested in this, but… as a Transcendent Witch, the Academy Head should possess means to manipulate Destiny, right?

But regardless, I still began to explain the relevant information about the Destiny Gazing Technique to Academy Head Bev.

“Every technique has its value; don’t only measure the value of a technique by its Practical Value.”
