Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 512: Planting the Seed of Great Knowledge within Lucianne

“This… is the so-called Seed of Knowledge?”

At this moment, I had already brought Lucianne to the upper deck of the yacht.

The yacht had already left the original Yacht Dock.

The sea breeze was blowing here, tossing our long hair.

Looking at the island gradually moving away, I looked at Lucianne and answered her question.

“Of course Before it takes root in your Sea of Consciousness, you still have the chance to give up. Even if it has grown, you can still choose to destroy it. Its risks are controllable so far.”

I explained to her with a smile.

Then, the brand-new Seed of Great Knowledge floating on my palm was handed to Lucianne.

Currently, the ”cultivation” of the Seed of Great Knowledge required a significant amount of time and nutrients.

Without obtaining a large source of nutrients, its cultivation speed could not be accelerated, as even technological breakthroughs could not compensate for the lack of nutrients.

I had already decided that once the information and repetitive, or nearly useless, data transmitted back by the first batch of Trees of Knowledge were all converted into knowledge nutrients, I would use them to cultivate the Seed of Great Knowledge.

Lucianne subconsciously reached out to take it, but her hand grasped empty air.

“The Seed of Knowledge doesn’t have a physical body, so, in essence, you use Mental Power to hold it.”

I reminded her.

“I understand…”

Lucianne wasn’t too surprised.

After all, she was familiar with this kind of existence; for example, Spellbooks also required similar methods to be taken out or put into the body.

She was quite skilled at this.

“What then? Just put it into the forehead?”

“What else did you think? Then, your consciousness needs to sink into the Sea of Consciousness to proceed to the next step.”

Lucianne followed my steps and placed the Seed of Knowledge from her forehead, then closed her eyes as if she wanted to follow the Seed of Knowledge into the Sea of Consciousness.

After a moment, Lucianne opened her eyes again.

“Successful?”

I raised an eyebrow, a little surprised, but why didn’t I feel anything at all?

“How does consciousness enter the Sea of Consciousness?”

“Hmm?”

With Lucianne’s single sentence, I looked at her, stunned as if I had cerebellar atrophy, and was momentarily taken aback.

“You’ve been in contact with the Transcendent world for about half a year, right? You don’t know how to enter the Sea of Consciousness with your spirit?”

After I finished this sentence, I suddenly realized.

Recalling the first time I entered the Sea of Consciousness—no, it shouldn’t be called entering the Sea of Consciousness—even perceiving the Sea of Consciousness, I had done it when I first derived the Tree of Knowledge.

Following that, it was an accident with the [Transcendent Knowledge] that I relied on the power of Body Cultivation to completely master the method of deep consciousness entry into my own Sea of Consciousness…

Suddenly… I realized a problem, and that was that the concept of the Sea of Consciousness seemed to… need to be opened up artificially, because it was an abstract concept.

It was impossible for a person’s mind to have an actual ”space” existing like this, perhaps there was, but it shouldn’t be called that, nor should it be used in this way.

Only when a person subjectively began to construct this concept would the Sea of Consciousness be abstractly ”perceived,” then subjectively opened up and discovered, and only then could it be utilized.

This must require an external stimulus as an anchor.

This was like a blind person unable to understand the concept of color.

No matter how it was described in language or communicated through consciousness, a blind person couldn’t imagine the brilliance of color.

However, blind people also had eyes.

If their eyes were repaired through external force, allowing them to see light, then this would be opening a door to a new world for them.

Lucianne was currently in this situation.

She had never understood the Sea of Consciousness, nor had she been exposed to such things, let alone having the relevant enlightenment methods.

If it were me, my enlightenment stage would probably be similar to the Memory Bookshelf method, but the space for storing books opened up by the Memory Bookshelf was not the Sea of Consciousness.

However, it did pave the way for my independent realization and understanding of the Sea of Consciousness as a spiritual state.

“Sorry, I was making assumptions. The Sea of Consciousness is a subjectively constructed abstract concept…”

I lightly massaged my forehead, a little helpless, but I still had to explain it.

And the one who was even more helpless at the moment was Lucianne, especially because in her eyes, the other party’s tone just now, which took things for granted, seemed to be marveling at her incompetence… This sense of powerlessness made it impossible for her to even refute, as this was a real gap.

“Then if I don’t have a Sea of Consciousness, is there any other way?”

Lucianne didn’t want to give up on this Seed of Knowledge.

Its effect was simply too heaven-defying.

If she was eliminated because of this initial threshold of use, she would probably regret it every time she woke up!

She had also heard of similar things, such as Spellbooks.

Not every Spellbook circulated in the Witch Academy could be used immediately upon receiving it.

Some Spellbooks had thresholds that were difficult to reach even for use.

This was probably one such case…

“If you don’t have a Sea of Consciousness, then open one up. It’s a very simple principle. Since you’ve learned about this concept, didn’t you think about overcoming it?”

“Overcoming…”

Lucianne was stunned by what I said.

This was a blow stemming from a difference in way of thinking.

When I encountered a difficulty, I would think about changing the method to solve it, but the other party was thinking about overcoming it…

“Yes, the Sea of Consciousness is a very abstract concept. If you can realize its existence, you can achieve many things. In fact, Meditation is also an enlightening method to inspire the Sea of Consciousness, but we don’t need to use this slow method now. We’ll use the most direct method.”

I directly took out the Seed that Lucianne had put into her body with one hand, which left Lucianne bewildered.

It was… taken out again?

Just now, she had put it into her forehead, and then it had disappeared from her perception before she realized it.

“Now, focus your Mental Power on this Seed. I will guide you to construct your Sea of Consciousness using this Seed of Knowledge as an anchor.”

As I spoke, I was immensely sighing internally.

The difficulty of promoting the Seed of Knowledge seemed even harder than I had expected.

It was not like the Leaf of Knowledge, because the Leaf of Knowledge did not belong to the person carrying it; its ownership completely belonged to me.

The person or Fool’s Dream carrying it only temporarily had the permission to use it.

The Seed of Knowledge, however, was something that established a deep connection with a person; it could even be said to be a part of that person.

Even I, the caster, could not interfere with it, only ”observe” it.

Although I personally felt that this connection was likely more than just observation, I needed a deeper understanding to grasp what other abilities were involved.

At this moment, Lucianne was also very obedient, releasing the Mental Strength Thread condensed by the Witch Meditation Method, firmly locking onto this Seed of Knowledge.

She had consciously tried to do this earlier, but she hadn’t made complete preparations, and this Seed had arrived in a realm she couldn’t reach in a way she couldn’t understand.

I didn’t say anything more, and looking at Lucianne’s slightly ”weak” Mental Power at the moment, I still didn’t feel reassured, so I wrapped my own Mental Power around hers.

As the Seed of Knowledge slowly sank into her forehead, this time, my movements were very slow, in order to allow her to adapt to the entire process of peering into the unknown.

The Sea of Consciousness was not such a mysterious thing; it was just the unknown that amplified the difficulty of its construction.

This was similar to first encountering the Witch Meditation Method—it seemed very difficult, but the difficulty was only at the threshold of getting started.

At this moment, under my meticulous guidance, Lucianne was in a trance, as if her spirit and consciousness had opened up a completely new perspective.

That was a place of conscious chaos.

Only when the subjective consciousness perceived this place did the Sea of Consciousness gain order, and she finally saw the existence of that Seed there through this peculiar perspective.

“This! This is the Sea of Consciousness!”

Lucianne was more surprised than ever at this moment, like a child who had received a new toy.

However, I could also tell that she was still somewhat restrained in front of me, but the small actions she couldn’t hide due to her excitement betrayed her agitated inner self.

“Yes, it’s that simple. Don’t overthink it. This has no direct connection to your so-called talent; it’s just that your cognition hasn’t expanded to this step yet. Once you understand the concept of the Sea of Consciousness, perhaps even without me, you probably could have learned and quickly mastered this concept on your own.”

I said to comfort her.

“Is that so? I understand.”

Lucianne accepted my explanation, but she felt even more unwilling internally.

She needed to work even harder!

As long as she had this ability to memorize everything, freeing up time from those boring textbooks, she would have more time to learn more things and broaden the upper limit of her cognition.

This mere threshold of qualification was enough to teach her a lesson.

“Next, use Magic Power to nourish it, allowing it to take root and sprout in your Sea of Consciousness, growing into a Tree of Knowledge. That will initially complete the steps for mastering it. After that, its growth will depend on you.”

“Use Magic Power?”

Lucianne was stunned and subconsciously prepared to use it, but no matter how hard she tried, the Seed could not draw Magic Power like a Spellbook.

The technique she used for Spellbooks completely failed to work at this moment.

“I… I can’t mobilize Magic Power…”

“Oh!”

At this moment, I also realized: the other party was still a newcomer!

She was simply not qualified to use Mental Power to interfere with Magic Power, while I had already completed a qualitative transformation of Mental Power due to repeated accidents…

“Sorry… my professional skills are not yet proficient enough, and I forgot these most basic things.”

I massaged my forehead with my right hand, feeling a bit embarrassed.

The main reason was that the only experimenter, Big Sis Bai, was too strong, leading both her and me to overlook some ”common knowledge” we hadn’t paid attention to.

Now, after attempting to promote it, I immediately discovered many problems.

“Then do you have any other energy? Any power that your Mental Power can control will do—elements, Spirit Power, anything.”

“Can Witch Power work?”

Lucianne’s lips twitched a few times, then she asked.

“Witch Power? Never tried it. We can try it. Don’t worry, if it breaks, I’ll give you another one.”

Hearing her suggestion, I immediately became interested.

I had only tried common Transcendent powers that I could access, such as elements, but hadn’t tried the others.

I didn’t expect her to be able to control Witch Power, but this didn’t seem difficult to understand.

“Okay…”

Lucianne only struggled for a moment before nodding, because she hadn’t forgotten her identity as the ”guinea pig” cooperating with the other party’s experimental testing.

Lucianne rummaged through her Storage Equipment for a long time, then took out a crystal-like refined Sorcery Tool.

This was one of the foundations for Wizard Apprentices to control Witch Power.

After all, Wizards themselves were humans, and they didn’t have something like a Transcendent Bloodline to support them.

Of course, this excluded the madmen who incorporated the bloodlines of other races into themselves, but… bloodline fusion was not uncommon in the Wizard Academy.

However, Lucianne clearly hadn’t been exposed to this method of modification.

At this moment, as the Witch Power surged in, the Seed of Knowledge began to move.

In my observation, this growth process was many times slower than Big Sis Bai’s growth process, possibly due to the energy level issue…

But the Seed in Lucianne’s Sea of Consciousness was indeed ”growing.”

This was a long process, but Lucianne was the first person I promoted this to, besides Big Sis Bai, so I had ample patience to accompany her through the initial steps.

Furthermore, this was a very valuable opportunity to collect experimental data!

Although this attempt encountered quite a few setbacks, it gave me a significant reminder: if I wanted to teach someone, I shouldn’t base it on what I thought; it should be based on what the other person felt.

Never think that the explanation of common sense is unnecessary, because that is the guarantee of teaching quality.

At this moment, as a Teaching Assistant, I immediately adopted the mindset of a teacher educating students, and teaching others was also one of the quickest ways for self-learning.

I wasn’t afraid of mistakes or accidents, because these mistakes all represented problems, and solving problems represented self-improvement!

And at this moment, Lucianne also fell into a very magical state.

She felt her Sea of Consciousness passively expand as this Seed grew, extending the order of subjective consciousness outward.

In plain language, her Sea of Consciousness was gradually expanding with the help of the Seed of Knowledge.

As the Sea of Consciousness was constructed, her understanding of Mental Power also gradually deepened, as if even Meditation brought a sensation of sudden enlightenment…

“Hmm? It stopped growing?”

Lucianne subconsciously supplied more Witch Power, but once the Seed of Knowledge reached a certain degree, it couldn’t grow anymore.

When Lucianne opened her eyes, she found that I had already sat down on a deck chair next to her, and I had a cup of juice in my hand at some point.

“You ran into a problem, right? The Tree of Knowledge can’t continue to grow?”

“Yes.”

Lucianne nodded and said.

“Congratulations, the introductory stage of the Tree of Knowledge cultivation is complete. What I can teach you has pretty much reached its limit here. The subsequent growth of the Tree of Knowledge will require you to use your own memories or the information you acquire as nutrients to feed its growth.”

I said to Lucianne with a smile, then got up and took a sip of juice before continuing to explain to her.

“This will be a long process. If you encounter anything you don’t understand, you can try asking the Shadow of Knowledge. You must remember that the Shadow of Knowledge is me in your subconscious; it’s not the real me being rude to you. It’s because you feel that I should be rude to you. Perhaps you should slightly change your perception of my attitude, otherwise your way of thinking will become your biggest obstacle in the future.”
