The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Hearing this sentence, Director Hou, Jiang An, Qin Feng, and others almost simultaneously pushed open the door and quickly walked into the technical analysis room.

”How’s the situation?”

Qin Feng hurried forward, impatiently asking.

Across the room, technician Mr. Li raised his head and immediately made a crisp and clean OK gesture: ”Completely matched, no suspense at all!”

As soon as Mr. Li finished speaking, the atmosphere in the entire room instantly ignited.

Everyone simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief, then almost all showed expressions of excitement and elation, especially Director Hou and Qin Feng.

They exchanged a glance, their eyes full of relieved joy.

Qin Feng couldn’t hold back, took a few steps to Jiang An’s side, and heavily patted his shoulder, his voice full of emotion: ”Mr. Jiang, I’m really grateful to you! To be honest, I didn’t have much hope at first, but I didn’t expect you to actually find the blood trace in that place...”

Director Hou was also overwhelmed with emotions at this moment, as if he had just finished a psychological rollercoaster.

He recalled the scene when he followed Jiang An to investigate the cockpit: at that time, the scene had been repeatedly checked many times, and everyone thought there would be no new discoveries.

Even when Jiang An suggested focusing on certain gaps and edges, Director Hou felt the hope was slim, almost proposing to give up at the last moment.

However, the matching result in front of him now made him sincerely admire Jiang An’s persistence.

At this moment, Jiang An was also unable to calm his mind.

He vividly remembered the moment when he repeatedly searched in the cockpit, nearly reaching an impasse—just as he was about to turn and leave, a thought suddenly crossed his mind: If the suspect injured their finger during the crime, which locations were most likely to leave unnoticed contact marks?

This idea didn’t appear by chance but stemmed from his deep understanding of human injury mechanisms accumulated through years of forensic work, an almost instinctive professional intuition.

While everyone was still immersed in the joy of success, Mr. Li showed a puzzled expression.

He adjusted his glasses, looking at Director Hou and Jiang An, and couldn’t help but ask: ”But... Director Hou, Mr. Jiang, I’m really curious, from which part was this blood trace extracted?

I also understood the early stages of this case, the scene should have been thoroughly examined, how could such crucial blood traces still be left?”

This question stunned Director Hou, Qin Feng, and Jiang An simultaneously, following which they all unexpectedly burst into laughter.

Qin Feng shook his head, his tone carrying a hint of admiration and teasing: ”Mr. Li, you didn’t know this, did you?

Finding this was all thanks to our Mr. Jiang.

If he hadn’t insisted on returning to the scene, squeezing into the innermost part of the cockpit, and finding that suspicious mark in a gap that no one noticed, we wouldn’t have even thought there would be blood trace left there, let alone successfully extracting it.”

Director Hou also laughed and chimed in, even instinctively covering his mouth, ”Not a word wrong. That spot was too concealed, not to mention ordinary people, even we veteran investigators wouldn’t necessarily think to check that kind of corner.

I guess even the criminal suspect himself might not have realized leaving blood trace there—that might be what they call ’the wide net of justice has long arms’.”

Jiang An nodded, his tone calm yet deeply insightful: ”There was indeed an element of luck this time. At the time, I almost gave up, but I always felt there was something I hadn’t thoroughly seen...

It might be as people often say, there is a kind of arrangement in the unseen.

Sometimes, when you feel like you’re at the end of the road, just holding on a little longer, taking another closer look, inspiration will suddenly flash at some moment—and this time, we were very lucky to capture that moment.”

Mr. Li put away the identification results, turned to Qin Feng, and handed over the report: ”Mr. Qin, the result is out, please have a look.”

Qin Feng took the detailed test spectrum, his eyes quickly scanning the data and curves above, a determined smile appearing at the corner of his mouth: ”With this spectrum as support, let’s see how Li Xu can argue!”

Jiang An stepped forward, his voice steady as he added: ”In fact, this blood trace evidence not only proves Li Xu had entered the cockpit, but more importantly, the tiny gap where the blood trace formed is very special—it is located in a hidden corner between the control panel and the seat, difficult to leave blood trace unless one consciously reaches into a specific area. This strongly indicates he had clear operational behavior inside the cockpit.”

He paused, continuing the deep analysis: ”Judging from the morphology, the angle and distribution range of blood splatter also highly align with the characteristics of hand injuries moving quickly in this narrow space.

Combined with our previous measurements of his hand wounds, the wound width model almost matches the blood trace extracted from the gap.

In other words, this evidence not only points to ’his presence at the scene,’ but also directly points to ’what he did there’.”

”Impressive, my friend!”

Qin Feng couldn’t help but praise, nodding repeatedly, ”Mr. Jiang, you truly managed to integrate forensic knowledge and criminal investigation practice so thoroughly.”

”This spectrum in your hands has not only become a scientific report but also ’speaking’ evidence for scene reconstruction.”

”Respect!”

Director Hou looked at the time, his expression becoming serious: ”Since the evidence chain is now so clear, we should not delay, let’s go to the interrogation room immediately.”
