The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 594: Chapter 333: Double Blessings, What Joy!

Mr. Li pushed the door open, his voice barely concealing his excitement.

Zhang Chao, who was working at the desk, immediately looked up and grabbed the notebook on the table: ”Mr. Ma, what can we do for you?”

”I heard it’s something good.”

Mr. Li winked mysteriously, his lips curling up involuntarily.

Five minutes later, the two of them arrived at the door of Mr. Ma’s office.

Mr. Li straightened the collar of his police uniform and gently knocked on the door.

”Come in.”

Mr. Ma’s deep voice came from inside.

Entering the room, they saw Mr. Ma leisurely sipping tea, the fragrance of which filled the office.

Seeing the relaxed demeanor of their boss, they both relaxed—there didn’t seem to be any urgent cases.

”Have a seat,”

Mr. Ma gestured to the sofa opposite him. Once they were seated, he asked, ”Is yesterday’s case resolved?”

Mr. Li straightened his back and reported, ”It’s all wrapped up, the facts are clear, and the evidence is solid.”

”The suspect confessed to the three cases and implicated his accomplice, Zhao Jian, confirming that the two planned this bank robbery together.”

Mr. Ma nodded in satisfaction, taking a small sip of tea.

”Well done.”

He set the tea cup down and suddenly changed the subject: ”Over the years, the Jiangcheng Criminal Investigation Team has achieved remarkable results in fighting crime and maintaining public order, especially with the rapid resolution of this case. Not only has the provincial department highly recognized it, but even the Ministry of Public Security has taken notice.”

”The Ministry of Public Security?!”

Mr. Li and Mr. Zhang exclaimed in unison, looking at each other in disbelief.

They couldn’t believe that a department situated 3,000 kilometers away in the capital would pay attention to them.

Mr. Ma couldn’t hide his excitement either: ”Honestly, at my age, this is my first time experiencing something like this.”

”Mr. Wang just called and said that he will apply for a collective first-class merit for you. We must prepare the materials thoroughly.”

Silence fell over the office.

Mr. Li widened his eyes, his mouth opening but unable to utter a word.

Mr. Zhang pinched his thigh in disbelief, wondering if he was dreaming.

Both stared at Mr. Ma, as if to confirm it wasn’t a joke.

Mr. Ma took his time to sip his tea: ”Why, can’t believe it?”

After a brief silence, Mr. Li finally found his voice: ”This... this is unbelievable.”

”A collective first-class merit, I never even dared to dream of it.”

”Even a second-class merit would be a great honor for us.”

Mr. Zhang also came to his senses: ”Yes, Jiang An just received a personal first-class merit yesterday.”

”We all thought that was the biggest recognition for the Jiangcheng Criminal Investigation Team, but a collective first-class merit... this honor is too precious.”

Mr. Ma smiled contentedly: ”I’ve always emphasized, no merit without achievements.”

”This time, you not only set a benchmark for the provincial criminal investigation system but also provided valuable experience for national criminal investigation work.”

”The Ministry of Public Security decided to award this honor, which undoubtedly considers the exemplary effect of your case.”

”You must cherish this hard-earned honor.”

”Yes, Mr. Ma!”

They replied in unison, their voices loud and powerful.

Mr. Ma continued: ”Mr. Wang called mainly to urge us to prepare the advanced deeds material of the criminal investigation team.”

”When you go back, thoroughly review the work achievements over the years, not just this case, but major cases from the past need to be included, making the material as comprehensive and detailed as possible, laying a solid foundation for subsequent approval.”

”Understood!”

”We will prepare diligently!”

”Alright, now hurry up and prepare,” Mr. Ma waved his hand.

They both stood up, simultaneously giving Mr. Ma a standard salute.

Mr. Ma laughed and waved his hand: ”Alright, we know each other well, no need for this formality.”

”Hurry up and prepare the materials, strive to secure that first-class merit soon.”

Leaving the director’s office, the hearts of Mr. Li and Mr. Zhang still surged with excitement.

As the heads of the criminal investigation team, nothing filled them with more pride than this weighty honor.

They exchanged a knowing smile, nodding in agreement: ”Let’s go, prepare the materials immediately.”

Mr. Ma patted Mr. Li on the shoulder, his eyes full of gratification.

After their footsteps faded away, Mr. Ma picked up the phone again, dialing the secretary’s number.

”Hello, Mr. Li, come to my office.”

Two minutes later, there was a regular knock on the door.

”Come in.”

Mr. Li entered: ”Mr. Ma, you wanted to see me?”

”Have a seat.”

Mr. Ma motioned for him to sit, his expression growing serious: ”Yesterday morning, I made a military pledge at the police station’s entrance to solve the case within three days.”

”You’ve seen the viral video, right?”

The secretary’s eyes flickered, nodding slightly: ”Mr. Ma, I watched it on my way here.”

”Good, since the situation is clear, I’ll be open with you.”

Mr. Ma crossed his hands on the desk, his gaze steady and firm.

”This case has been successfully solved, we must seize the opportunity to speak up and make the truth known to the public.”

”Immediately prepare for a press conference at 3 p.m., to show all the citizens of Jiangcheng our success and effectiveness in solving the case.”

”Let everyone see not only our ability to maintain city safety but our determination to ensure lasting peace.”

”Understood, Mr. Ma, I’ll arrange it right away.”
