Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 242: What Is This Custom Modification System? Am I a Vehicle?

Core Essence rapidly flew out from his nexus compressed star. For the transformation, he would naturally use Core Essence. This moment was precisely why he had stored it inside him until now.

Azure Vitality Pills could also be utilized, but he did not want to use them. A part of him told him to use the superior Core Essence formed from the domain of a 4th rank evolver rather than inferior Vital Essence.

Core Essence was essentially an upgraded version of Vital Essence. The Core Essence of a 3rd ranker was crucial in developing core markings and advancing through the 3rd rank to establish a domain at the fourth rank.

The more Core Essence one had, the better. Because of this, Core Essence cultivators hunted down powerful mutated beasts deep inside the ocean; mutated beasts that had reached the 3rd rank, and bloodline warriors at the 3rd rank possessed the most abundant Core Essence.

Even for a fourth ranker, Core Essence was crucial in developing a domain.

And right now, Grey was using it for his evolutionary process at the 2nd rank. If 3rd rankers heard about this, they would probably be bleeding from head to toe.

This was an act of blasphemy.

But for someone who constantly broke through set evolutionary limits, this much was normal.

Xia Qingyue sat to the side with her white, slender legs dipped in the spring. She gently waved her legs as she observed Grey, who sat not too far from her.

To the outside, it might look like he was sitting close. But for Grey, the distance appeared far greater.

This was spatial law at work. Aside from the suppression formation, she had also deployed her spatial powers to give Grey more space to evolve.

And with the abundant energy here, she could maintain those powers until he was finished.

Grey did not necessarily need much cosmic energy to evolve after all. The Transformation Stage required more Vital Essence than energy.

’I wonder how he is going to surprise me this time.’ Xia Qingyue appeared thoughtful.

In her mind, Grey was a man of miracles. A never before seen prodigy who, if unleashed into the starry sky, would become a tremendous powerhouse within years of evolution.

’But his level of genius, the primordial pathstriders might be able to match easily.’ She shook her head.

The vast expanse beyond the skies of Blue Star was limitless, with endless amounts of prodigies surging forth. And if she had to rate the current Grey, he was only a lower leveled genius, or perhaps slightly higher.

A true genius was determined by their ability to jump ranks and fight across levels. In the starry sky, fighting across levels was common, and what differentiated a true genius was how much they could skip.

And considering the vastness of space, that amount was not small.

Quite honestly, it had been a while since she had been in the starry sky. She did not know how he would fare there.

...

Grey’s mind was calm. He knew everything would go as planned, and as such, he did not feel anxious.

Core Essence surged out of him. Being superior, it could flawlessly loosen DNA faster and more efficiently.

If Grey reached the threshold of the 3rd rank after this, then he might start hunting 3rd rank mutated beasts to take their Core Essence for cultivation. This was extremely crucial to him.

Grey soon started splitting his consciousness. He was going to activate all transformation techniques at once, and with his Mind Palace created and having reached a level similar to a 2nd rank esper, his mind was particularly sharp.

It could seamlessly split consciousness for parallel thought and processing.

Core Essence surged through his body as multiple transformation techniques activated all at once.

The Core Essence revolved around his body for a cycle before starting to permeate into his cells, then into his genes, and finally into his DNA structure.

The instant the DNA structure and Core Essence came into contact, its helix pattern began loosening, making space for the transformation and the new form of information that was about to enter across all DNA structures within his cells.

Soon, the circulation process began. Core Essence split apart several times as it began circulating in different ways within his DNA structure all at once.

The instant it started, Grey focused. This was the moment he needed to activate the Nexus Race Optimization Technique.

If there was a single mishap, he would quite literally blow up.

Soon, the time to activate it arrived. All circulation methods reached the point of forming genetic markings.

The Nexus Race Optimization Technique immediately activated.

Buzz!

The circulating Core Essences that were about to collide and explode in him paused. The instant they paused, the DNA stirred, as if awakened by an irregularity.

The following moment, it trembled once. Immediately after, the pause was restored, and in the next second, like a small big bang, a multitude of genetic markings began forming rapidly in his body.

The instant they started forming, Grey activated the Chaos Trait Modularization Art.

His vision shifted.

And several lights formed around him.

A few words appeared.

[Genetic Marking Customization Menu]

Dark lines formed on the inner consciousness face of Grey.

’What the f**k is this?’

Why was there a customization menu in front of him?

Before he could process it, more panels unfolded one after another.

[Cell Structure: Unassigned]

[Body Framework: Unassigned]

[Internal Organs: Unassigned]

[Energy Circulation System: Unassigned]

[Neural and Signal Network: Unassigned]

[Origin Imprints: None Selected]

[Genetic Markings: 0 / 12]

Curiously, Grey clicked on the Cell Structure tab.

The moment he did, the interface expanded.

Several new options unfolded before him.

[God]

[Primordial Human]

[Mystic Human]

[Ascended Human]

[High Human]

[True Source Dragon]

’Cells, huh?’ Grey tilted his head, interest flickering in his eyes.

Cell structure determined the foundation of everything. Regeneration speed, energy mobilization efficiency, bodily control, and even how quickly commands propagated through flesh.

From what Grey understood, among all the races listed within the Chaos Trait Modularization Art, most cell structures showed no drastic functional divergence. At least, not at the cellular level.
