Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 220: The secret of transformation

In the following instant, Grey was finally able to clearly observe Alissa’s folding pattern.

”It’s similar to a beast core’s DNA pattern, yet not quite the same.” Grey was pleasantly surprised.

The folding pattern active within Alissa was expansive and bore a strong resemblance to the structural sequence he had seen inside beast cores. However, it was far from a simple imitation.

At a deeper, more microscopic level, the structure became increasingly complex. Layers of genetic instructions overlapped one another, not merely coiling or unfolding, but actively rearranging their internal order.

Grey could not identify the latter segment of the folding pattern at all. Yet every second, that unknown section was being converted, stretched outward, and reinforced, as if the DNA itself was rewriting its own boundaries.

”Wait... is this the transformation?” Grey narrowed his eyes.

The structure of her DNA was no longer just folding. It was expanding in capacity, increasing the amount of information it could contain, preparing the body to support an entirely different biological form.

This was not a simple shape change. It was a fundamental restructuring of existence at the genetic level.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the DNA structure of a True Source Dragon, you’ve gained insight into its structural engineering and origin imprint!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the DNA structure of a True Source Dragon, you’ve gained insight into its structural engineering and origin imprint!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens. By observing a True Source Dragon transform, you have gained insight into the ’True Source Dragon Transformation’ technique.]

Insight surged into his head like a tidal wave. Grey stood rooted in place, eyes wide as torrents of fragmented knowledge crashed into his consciousness, each piece heavier than the last.

The origin imprint of a true dragon was incomparably complex, far beyond the beast cores he had studied before. Merely gazing at it made his vision swim, his mind struggling to anchor itself as layers upon layers of impossible structure unfolded before him.

Along its edges, countless ancient symbols and glyphs shimmered faintly, overlapping and intertwining like a living script. None of it made immediate sense to him, and his comprehension of the origin imprint itself remained abysmally low, as if he were staring at the blueprint of a god with mortal eyes.

Yet strangely, the insights related to structural engineering and transformation techniques surged forward instead. With every passing second, patterns aligned, logic connected, and understanding rose sharply, as if the dragon’s form was guiding him toward what mattered most.

In the next moment, Alissa’s growth finally came to a halt.

Her draconic body stood fully revealed.

Icy scales layered her form like forged crystal, each one reflecting cold light as if carved from frozen starlight itself. Dark blue horns curved proudly from her head, glowing faintly from within, while her eyes opened slowly, vast and ancient, carrying a pressure so absolute that it felt as though the world itself might shatter if she merely chose to look upon it.

Instantly, all of her powers erupted.

VRRRRRAAAAAAAUM!1

The roar was not loud in the conventional sense.

It arrived fractured and unstable, as if multiple voices were forcing themselves through the same throat, each one slightly misaligned. The sound felt wrong. A cold, hollow resonance bypassed the ears entirely and struck directly at the mind, making thoughts stutter and senses desync.

As it spread, reality itself seemed to glitch. The pitch bent unnaturally, stretching and snapping apart mid-roar, overlapping in broken layers that refused to resolve. The echo did not fade. It repeated faintly, out of order, like the same moment was being dragged back and replayed again and again.

The following moment, the world around them flashed black and white, as if all color had been stripped away in an instant. The air froze mid-motion, drifting frost halted in place, and even the falling shards of ice seemed suspended, caught between one moment and the next.

Grey’s vision blurred briefly as the roar pressed through existence itself. The sound did not travel outward like ordinary noise. It overlapped, echoed, and folded back upon itself, leaving behind lingering afterimages of the same instant repeating again and again.

For a breath that felt both fleeting and endless, everything stood still.

Grey’s eyes constricted.

His Saint’s Eyes shone with blinding brilliance as the mysterious power erupting from the true dragon washed over him. Even so, the pressure was suffocating, heavy enough to make his instincts scream.

There was no mistaking it.

Alissa had halted everything.

She had stopped time!

The True Dragon gazed at him coldly. There was no surprise in its eyes, nor any hint of alarm at seeing Grey move freely within a frozen world. To it, Grey was not an anomaly.

He was an enemy.

The Alissa he knew, even the drunken one, was gone. What stood before him now was a being ruled entirely by instinct. Its mind held a single directive: destruction. No reason existed beyond that.

”It’s at the peak of the middle stage.” Grey muttered, genuine surprise flickering through him before a wide grin spread across his face.

Alissa’s transformation was not yet complete, yet her aura had already climbed to the peak of the sixth stage.

Very good.

In terms of raw presence alone, Alissa was no longer inferior to a god.

Far away, Fedrick watched the scene unfold with pure, unfiltered terror.

For a brief, sincere moment, he wondered if he had already died and this was hell’s budget-friendly scenic route.

Clutching the tree like it was his last surviving relative, he began chanting calming scriptures at a speed that would have impressed even the most devout monks. He had already been swept away like a loose twig more times than he could count, and his dignity had not survived the second impact.

If this continued, Fedrick was certain of one thing. Enlightenment was coming soon. One way or another.

”I shouldn’t have come here.” Fedrick was caught between tears.

The following moment, Fedrick saw the world painted in white by the dragon turn purple as a powerful energy abruptly descended.

For readers who are familiar with Pokémon, the roar is conceptually similar to Palkia’s. It’s available in youtube if you want reference
