Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 219: She transformed!

Seeing this, a faint shimmer of moisture gathered in Alissa’s eyes. Her lips trembled slightly as she looked at Grey, confusion and hurt mixing together on her delicate face.

”Why are you dodging me?” Alissa asked softly, her voice tinged with sadness. She looked as if she had been deeply wronged, like a child pushed away without understanding why.

Grey let out a quiet sigh and shook his head. ”You are not yourself right now, Alissa. Pull yourself together.”

”Here.” He took out a candy bar and held it out to her. ”Chocolate helps stabilize your emotions. It will make you calmer.”

In his mind, the reason was already clear. This emotional instability was closely tied to her transformation, and the symptoms matched what he knew about dragons all too well.

They were creatures ruled by instinct and emotion.

Absolutely outrageous in their behavior, and just as outrageous in their demands.

Just mere talking could not make her calm down, he had to distract her.

”...” Alissa stared at the candy in Grey’s hands, then took it into her hands and immediately ate it with the packet itself.

”???” Grey finally confirmed it. She definitely had something wrong in her head.

”Grey...” Alissa’s expression became even more feverish and drunk than before after she ate the chocolate.

”Erm...” Grey was dumbfounded. Did he give her the wrong chocolate?

But how could that be? Why would he have the wrong chocolate in his hands?

Then, he heard Alissa speak again.

”That old Grey wasn’t like this at all.” Her tone slowly shifted. ”He looked at me with vulgar eyes. He always bullied me because I was quiet, because I didn’t fight back.”

”He never let me do anything with peace of mind.”

Her fingers clenched unconsciously. ”Whenever I tried to do something on my own, he would appear. Always watching. Always interfering.”

”Always sabotaging me.”

As the memories resurfaced, Alissa’s expression twisted. The affection in her eyes vanished, replaced by simmering fury.

Anger burned visibly across her face, her breathing growing heavier.

”That bastard...” she said through clenched teeth. ”He even dared to say things he should never have said.”

Her voice trembled, not with fear, but with restrained rage.

”...” Grey just stayed silent.

Although the memories related to the old Grey were fragmented and incomplete, he still understood exactly what Alissa was referring to. He knew where her resentment came from, and he also knew that what she described was merely the surface.

There had been more.

Much more.

”But that Grey is long gone,” Alissa said coldly. ”I’m happy about it. A bastard like him should never have been allowed to keep living.”

Her voice carried no hesitation, no doubt. It was firm and decisive.

Then, her expression shifted once more, the sharp edge softening into something conflicted. ”When I first found out the truth, I didn’t know what to think.”

”I was confused. I didn’t know what I was supposed to feel, or what I should do.”

She paused, taking a slow breath.

”But now, I can say it clearly.”

Her gaze lifted and met his.

”You are not my old brother. You are his complete opposite.” Alissa smiled brilliantly, a warmth blooming across her face.

”You were kind to me even when I treated you coldly. Even when I kept my distance, you never forced yourself on me.”

”As a true dragon, I understand emotions better than most,” her voice softened. ”You never caused me trouble. You let me do what I wanted.”

”You respected me.”

Her fingers curled slightly.

”But I was the one who pushed you away.”

”I shouldn’t have treated you like that.” Alissa sniffed quietly, her eyes glistening as if she was on the verge of breaking down.

Fortunately, the tears never fell.

”You’re completely different,” she continued, her voice growing steadier. ”Smart, Strong and Reliable.”

Her expression turned feverish, something instinctual flickering beneath the surface.

”True Dragons are naturally attracted to strength.”

Before Grey could react, she moved.

In the very next moment, Alissa leapt toward him once again, her intent clear and unrestrained.

”...”

Dark lines instantly appeared across Grey’s face.

With a single thought, telekinetic force surged outward, stopping her midair and holding her firmly in place before she could advance any further.

’Why did this woman jump at him every time she finished her words?’

Her gaze definitely did not look like someone jumping at him for an affectionate hug between two friends.

”Why?” Alissa froze again, her face half drunk. ”Why did you stop me?”

”Do you not like me?” Alissa said unhappily. ”I’m very pretty, you know.”

”Many men want me. But I don’t care about any of them.”

She gazed deeply at Grey. ”I’m only interested in a man that can protect me.”

”Someone stronger than me.”

”In the entire Blue Star, there is no man strong enough to negate True Origin Energy, except you!” Alissa’s expression turned sad.

”Then why do you not want me?”

”...” Grey genuinely wondered if this was a True Dragon’s mating season. Otherwise, why would she act like this?

He shook his head. She was only attracted to his power.

It was clear that she was not in her right mind and would only become embarrassed once she was out of this state.

However, the next instant, Grey’s expression shifted.

A powerful fluctuation erupted from the saddened Alissa. Her body was temporarily covered in a mysterious energy.

At a glance, the energy felt like True Origin Energy, but it was more refined and far more powerful.

”No, this isn’t just True Origin Energy.” Grey was alarmed.

He immediately activated his True Origin Insight, and instantly, he saw it.

The brand new energy that had appeared within Alissa.

And looking at the patterns, he immediately confirmed what it was.

True Origin Energy and Life Energy.

[Your Comprehension defies the heaven. By observing a ’True Source Dragon (awakened)’, you have comprehended its main energy source, ’True Source Energy’.]

”A True Source Dragon?” Grey frowned deeply.

Is it an upgraded version of a True Dragon?

However, the surprise did not end there. Following the appearance of the energy, the Source Law of Frost erupted.

It formed a terrifying power together with it.

In the next moment, Alissa’s body shifted.

Her horns grew sharply and became covered in energy. Her body itself started becoming larger with each passing moment.

[Your Comprehension defies the heaven. By observing a True Source Dragon transform, you have gained insight into the ’True Source Dragon Transformation’ technique.]

Seeing this, Grey felt a surge of information flood into his mind. But now was not the time to process it.

There was a far more pressing matter.

He immediately activated his Genetic Insight, focusing it on what was happening right now.

Alissa had just defied all logic. Only third-rank cultivators who practiced the Beast Transformation Technique could fully transform into the beast tied to their bloodline.

Yet she was undergoing a complete transformation into a dragon.

Grey narrowed his focus, peering directly into her genetic structure. He wanted to see exactly what was changing within her DNA, and more importantly, how her chromosomal folding patterns were being reorganized.
