Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 236: Alissa’s Determination

Soon, the crystal was activated, and the video of Wang Lin started playing once more.

The instant she saw the youthful yet handsome individual on the screen, Alissa’s face tightened.

”Is this... Father?” Alissa couldn’t help but ask.

Grey didn’t reply. He just stayed silent as the next words from Wang Lin were precisely about him revealing his identity.

Alissa’s expression stiffened, soon turning bitter, yet she still continued watching.

Wang Lin went on to talk about the Starry Sky, the Canglan Star, his origins, and how he met Melissa.

Then he talked about how the dragon clan came and separated them.

Alissa had an unemotional expression on her face, yet her heart was far from calm hearing all this.

Even so, she continued watching with a heavy heart.

But just before it continued, Alissa turned to Grey.

Seeing this, Grey waved his hand and paused the video. He knew she had something to ask.

”My mother... she was separated because she gave birth to me.” Alissa’s voice was rather sour. ”Because I was a half-human. Is that why she’s sealed away in the forbidden grounds of the dragon clan?”

”Yes.” Grey nodded.

”Then...” Alissa thought for a moment. ”If... if I don’t turn out to be a half-human, then what will happen?”

”I know what you are thinking.” Grey smiled and spoke. ”You’ve gained the inheritance of the powerful dragons from the source world. You are no longer a half-human, both in soul and body, but a powerful True Source Dragon. And yes, if you truly turn out to be a True Source Dragon, then they will most likely let your mother go and perhaps even praise her instead.”

”You know about the True Source Dragon...” Alissa’s eyes flashed, then she shook her head. ”Never mind.”

How is this man so knowledgeable about it?

Did he have an ability that made him omniscient or something?

The fact that he knew about True Dragons was already very concerning.

Because not a single soul other than her knew about it, and she had never uttered the words ”True Dragon” ever in her life.

It was clear that Grey had other means to find out, and she believed that was also how he found out about the True Source Dragon.

”If I’m not wrong, your mother is also a True Source Dragon. That’s why she was praised as the most talented individual in the dragon clan.” Grey added. ”Yet the dragons would rather care about their own pride as a race than talent. They directly sealed away your mother just because she fell in love.”

”But... if I reveal myself as a True Source Dragon, she will be released.” Alissa said softly.

Then she stared deeply at Grey and spoke. ”I want to leave this planet and go to the Dragon Clan.”

From the way Grey kept to himself, it was clear that he knew about the world beyond Blue Star even prior to watching this video. He was a reincarnated being after all, and she wouldn’t doubt his knowledge.

That must mean he might also have a way for her to leave this planet.

”Leave?” Grey shook his head. ”You can’t leave right now.”

Alissa immediately frowned at his words, but to this he simply resumed the recording. ”Wang Lin will explain it himself.”

Soon, the part where he discussed Grey’s origin played out. Alissa shot him a glance before continuing to observe.

Then came the part about the dangers of this world, about how there was a terrifying being in the second layer of space, and how the only way to leave Blue Star right now was either reaching major succession in spatial law and leaving through the second layer of space.

Alissa fell silent hearing this. The concept of spatial dimensions confused her very much.

Grey naturally noticed it.

”In case you are wondering, the second layer of space is like a higher version of our own dimension.” Grey explained. ”The spatial currents are stronger there, the space is much more refined and won’t break as easily as ours. As for the dragon clan, they are said to exist in the deepest layer of space. As for how deep, even I have no idea. One thing is for sure, you can’t go to the dragon clan directly without comprehending spatial law. For now, we should just focus on the second layer of space, which is also where the so-called terrifying existence from the abyss is.”

Then Grey appeared thoughtful.

Right, Alissa didn’t know about the abyss.

He soon began explaining the abyss and the corruption field to Alissa as he poured himself some Springfield wine.

The supply of Springfield wine never ended. Werner would bring him more batches whenever he ran out.

Alissa sat there in silence as Grey finished explaining.

So many things she wasn’t aware of, so many things happening in the background. It was honestly quite shocking.

”So what Lia said was the truth. The Duskwood family was really working under the High Order.” Alissa mumbled under her breath.

”Then the Duskwood family...” Alissa glanced at Grey, only to see him calm.

”Don’t worry about them.” Grey smiled. ”I already took care of them while I was visiting Nova City. Along the way, I also took over the Tri-City Province under my rule.”

”...” Alissa was tongue-tied hearing this.

However, Alissa’s concern right now wasn’t about Grey conquering seven cities in a few days. It was about the dragon clan and her mother and father.

They were both suffering right now because of her. If she hadn’t been born, none of them would have been separated, nor would the dragon clan have sealed her mother away or severely injured her father.

It was a strange feeling. She felt both sad and depressed at the same time.

’I must get my mother to safety.’ Alissa’s eyes shimmered slightly.

In her journey as an evolver, her mother, Melissa, had always been a part of it. If not for her guiding Alissa until now, she wouldn’t have made it this far.

Her mother, a cheerful woman who looked to be in her twenties, was always supporting and motivating her to get stronger. Whenever Alissa felt down, she would replay her mother’s encouraging words in her mind.

Alissa knew what needed to be done, and she would go to any length to do so.
