Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 216: Grey Clone

However, almost as he thought of that, his comprehension ability activated.

[Your comprehension defies the heaven! By learning transformation techniques, you’ve learned the importance of understanding genes and structural changes in one’s body and comprehended ’True Genetic Insight’ by deriving it from the ’True Origin Sight’.]

”These insight comprehensions.” Grey shook his head speechlessly.

These insight skills were the easiest things to acquire. Even the True Origin Insight had been comprehended from his desire to understand energies, and now another skill had formed, this time coming from his desire to understand how exactly the transformation occurred.

”But what am I going to do with this?” Grey frowned. Sure, he might be able to observe the structure and DNA of someone else, but where was he going to find a primordial human from?

On the other hand, he could also use it on Lia and maybe even Alissa to understand the essence of their transformations and apply it directly.

Maybe he could even kidnap a high human and take their structure as well.

But for now, he put those thoughts aside. He wanted to comprehend the other human techniques before making a bigger move. These techniques would, without a doubt, act as his foundation, as he was a human himself.

Next, he took out the Ascended Human technique note. This one was not as exaggerated as the Primordial Human transformation technique, but it was good enough.

[Your comprehension defies the heaven! By reading the Ascended Human transformation technique, you’ve gained insight into it.]

[Your comprehension defies the heaven! By reading the Ascended Human transformation technique, you’ve gained insight into it.]

Three more hours passed swiftly, and finally, he was done comprehending the technique.

”Ascended Human.” Grey carefully gathered the comprehended technique and stored it within his mind palace.

There was nothing much notable about the Ascended Human technique. It seemed to be a variation of the High Human transformation technique, but everything about it was better.

The special trait awakened after completion was not the Eyes of Illusion. Instead, it had something to do with immortal cultivators and martial artists, allowing them to form their own dharma weapon that would grow alongside them and even awaken weapon consciousness.

”Traits like that can exist?” Grey was slightly surprised. This did not seem to have anything to do with biology, did it?

It made him quite curious. Who was the one that created this technique, and how did they manage to make this a trait one could acquire after completion?

”The experts of the starry sky are definitely not ordinary beings.”

The Ascended Human technique did not possess any special extra ability like the Primordial Human technique. Hence, he moved on to the very last one.

The Mystic Human technique. However, before proceeding, he decided to take a break.

He had been inside his room for six hours straight. He went out for a bit and noticed that Lia was missing.

She had most likely gone out with Valeria. Little Hong was also missing, and she probably attempted to bring Mimi with her as well, but it should have dispersed.

Then, a thought rose in Grey’s mind.

”Wait.”

He returned to his room at the same speed he had exited.

Shutting the door closed, he immediately activated his shapeless ability.

However, this time, what appeared was not Mimi.

Rather, it was a human. A human that looked exactly like Grey.

This was a perfect carbon copy. Even the facial features matched perfectly.

Grey connected his consciousness to the other body, and as a 2nd ranker, splitting consciousness was entirely possible.

Soon, he began controlling the clone. He made it move around as usual, and eerily enough, it felt no different from his own body.

”This will work.” Grey was delighted.

Since he could not cultivate the techniques himself, he could instead use his shapeless ability to make use of the technique and observe everything using Genetic Insight.

Afterward, he could retract the ability, and it would reset back to zero immediately.

The clone sat cross-legged on the bed as the main Grey observed it while sitting on the chair.

Although the clone could not retain the transformation forever unless he maintained it constantly, it was still extremely useful.

Besides, Mimi had its own usefulness.

He had never thought about it before, but if he permanently let Mimi remain active, then it could theoretically cultivate. However, moving outside Grey’s perception range would instantly diminish that power.

For now, he pushed those thoughts aside and utilized the clone.

”Oh right, I need vital essence.” A slightly pained expression appeared on Grey’s face.

He did indeed possess the Azure Vitality Pill he had obtained from Brandon’s inheritance ground.

However, it was limited. On the other hand, he still had vital essence obtained from beast cores.

Speaking of beast cores, he was very interested in them. They not only stored vital essence but also the special traits a beast possessed.

He still remembered the Silent Wolf he had first encountered in the forest after entering the secret realm. He very much wanted its trait for himself. However, that trait could not be taken out of the core or utilized by humans.

But Grey felt that if he utilized his Genetic Insight, he might be able to discover something.

Hence, before attempting to cultivate the Primordial Human transformation technique, he decided to use Genetic Insight on the beast cores first.

He took out the carefully preserved wolf beast core from his spatial ring and activated Genetic Insight.

The world flashed black and white before his eyes. The glowing beast core filled with vital essence abruptly changed, its glow disappearing as something appeared within Grey’s vision.

What appeared were numerous X-like patterns in the very center of the beast core. Along its ridges, special intricate runes lit up.

The instant Grey laid his eyes on it, he froze.

”This...?”

He did not freeze because he was stunned, but because he was utterly confused.

First of all, the thing looked like a DNA-like structure from his old world’s biology textbooks. Quite honestly, he had no idea what he was supposed to comprehend from this.

For a moment, Grey did not know whether to laugh or cry.

He could now see the structure, but what now?

What exactly was he supposed to learn from DNA?

And most importantly, why was there DNA inside a beast core at all?

However, just as quickly, his ability kicked in.
