Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 199: Law of Supreme Yin and Supreme Yang

”City Lord. What is the meaning of this?” Fedrick’s expression tightened, his gaze sharpening as thoughts churned beneath the surface.

A small child at the 2nd rank, an unusual emergency distress signal from this region, and now an unauthorized barrier. All of it aligned toward a single possibility.

”You work for the High Order, don’t you?” Fedrick coldly declared, praising his own deduction in silence.

”What?” Grey almost choked on air when he heard the accusation.

”You bastard!” He snapped, anger flaring. ”You think I’m some kind of idiot you can pin anything on? First I was a criminal, now I’m a High Order member? What’s next? You’ll declare I’m a federal traitor plotting against the entire Federation?”

If not for the fact that Fedrick was a 3rd Rank Evolver, Grey would have already beaten him senseless.

Grey even wondered if something was wrong with this guy’s head. How did he even reach such a ridiculous conclusion?

”Do not play the fool with me.” Fedrick’s aura erupted violently. ”I know you orchestrated all of this with the High Order to trap a Federation expert here, did you not?”

”However, I, Fedrick Alanstein, am not a nobody! I am a powerful 3rd Rank expert!” He declared with pride swelling in his voice. ”You cannot trap me!”

”Die now, criminal!”

The power of Yin and Yang burst out from Fedrick.

A Yin-Yang diagram materialized behind him as terrifying law power surged forth like a roaring tide.

”The Law of Yin and Yang.” Werner, observing from afar, wore a grim expression.

The Law of Yin and Yang was an extremely fearsome law. Martial artists who comprehended it were overwhelmingly powerful, and its might multiplied once one formed a core based on it.

Ordinary Evolvers could rarely contend with martial artists for this very reason. Only immortal cultivators or espers could hope to compete, and even then, only if they had similarly profound law comprehension.

Those who wielded this law possessed perfect balance within their bodies. Not only did it enhance their combat strength by harmonizing their body and energy, it granted them access to the extremes of Yin cold and Yang heat. Most terrifying of all, they could redirect incoming attacks with frightening efficiency.

It was practically a cheat. As long as they had the strength to sustain it, they could use the legendary Taichi method to turn another person’s power back upon them.

Fire an energy beam at a 3rd Rank martial artist who had awakened this law ability, and they would reflect it right back at you.

This was essentially the same concept as Grey’s Flawless Mirror Circle Array, except they did not need any energy to use it.

This ability was incredibly potent in Evolver battles. The less energy you spent, the more you preserved, and the longer you could maintain dominance. By redirecting attacks, one could exhaust an opponent while sending their blows back at them. Of course, they could not spam the ability endlessly. There were limits to how frequently it could be activated. Some had a cooldown of several minutes, others several hours. It depended entirely on one’s comprehension of the law.

If one’s understanding was high, the cooldown shortened naturally. And if one reached the realm of becoming one with the law itself, the ability could be used continuously.

At that level, they were nigh invincible.

The temperature around the area rose and fell, one side of Fedrick was extremely hot while the other side, extremely cold.

Grey’s mind stirred as countless fragments surged together, forming a coherent structure within his consciousness. The concept of balance abruptly unfolded before him. Attributes, functions, and the very essence of equilibrium appeared like puzzle pieces snapping into place.

And it was not the ordinary Law of Yin and Yang. It was the Supreme Yin and Yang.

He had heard of its existence. This law was the ultimate balance, one step beyond the common yin and yang. In the Eastern Region, it was known as Taiyin and Taiyang, collectively revered as a superior polarity. Only a single known expert had ever comprehended it: the Great Polarity Master, a top formation sovereign of the Martial Path and one of the most respected figures in the Eastern Region.

But that was not the matter at hand. Grey’s current insight was incomplete, yet if he continuously gathered fragments of understanding, he might truly comprehend it soon.

The speed at which insight poured into him exceeded anything he had ever experienced. He suspected it was linked to the Federation expert’s far higher level of comprehension.

Grey’s Heavenly Tribulation Law was currently at minor succession.

Above minor succession was major succession, and beyond that advanced succession. Each breakthrough allowed the cultivator to merge deeper with a law, drawing on greater power.

Fedrick, meanwhile, had comprehended the Law of Yin and Yang to major succession and awakened its second law ability.

Grey, in contrast, possessed only one Law at minor succession: the Absolute Authority of Heaven.

And at this moment, the Heavenly Tribulation power within him began to surge uncontrollably.

Bzzt! Bzzt!

Tribulation power burst out of Grey like a rising tsunami, slamming head-on into the Law of Yin and Yang.

Boom!

A violent shockwave tore through the sky, twisting the air from the sheer collision of the two laws.

”This law?” Fedrick’s expression changed drastically. ”What is this law?”

”Since you decided to attack me, you think I’ll just sit still, dumbass?” Grey sneered.

The sky darkened as the Heavenly Tribulation clouds began to gather.

”Grey... he is hostile towards you.” Little Hong’s gaze locked onto Fedrick. She felt his intent through the fluctuations of his power.

Her expression turned cold instantly.

”Someone who wants to do bad things to Grey...” Little Hong’s aura hardened.

Realmheart energy erupted from her body, covering the entire Ascension Province within seconds. Civilians trembled under the overwhelming force.

But it did not stop there. For an instant, a sound like a primordial heartbeat echoed across the sky, and immediately afterward, a terrifying power descended.

Grey’s eyes widened.
