Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 155: Hello everyone, I’m the city lord (2)

Everyone immediately went wide eyed.

”Huh?!” Evan’s mouth hung open as he stared at the holographic screen. ”Master, did I hear wrongly, d-did Eterna just say that Brother Grey is now the city lord of the Three Guards Province?”

”You did not hear wrong.” The immortal lady said with a calm look on her face. ”Still, Eterna, to think you would grant him a second rank citizenship.”

Citizenship was a core part of the starry sky, everyone had citizenship, and Eterna had adapted the same system on this planet, meaning it may or may not also be effective in the starry sky as well.

”This rank is the bare minimum.” Eterna’s voice suddenly came out of nowhere, shocking everyone nearby.

To Evan’s surprise, it was coming from his phone.

He took it out, and to his surprise, Eterna’s logo could be seen on it.

”We finally meet.” The immortal lady spoke.

Everyone, including Alissa and Lia, was shocked by this outcome.

The AI was conversing with the mysterious lady.

”It was not that I did not want to meet you, Esteemed One, Xia Qingyue.” Eterna’s indifferent voice came from the phone. ”It is that you did not show yourself to me to speak.”

The immortal lady shook her head at this. ”This planet is not that ordinary for me to casually show my face.”

”There are hidden dangers and monsters everywhere.” The immortal lady spoke as she glanced at Alissa and Lia.

”We need to have a long chat after this.” The immortal lady who was called Xia Qingyue spoke. ”I was cautious at first, but now that you have found out, there is no need to hide anymore.”

”Yes.” Eterna spoke, then she disappeared.

However, the fellow geniuses of Nova City were left stunned.

The AI had spoken.

It spoke like an actual human.

And from the looks of it, the AI knew this lady.

”Master, Eterna knows you?” Evan asked in shock. ”How is that possible? You never showed your face in the outside world before this!”

Hearing this, Xia Qingyue shook her head. ”You are underestimating that AI. It might seem like this, but its true capabilities are far beyond what you can imagine.”

Then, they suddenly saw that the holographic projection had shifted, and they heard Grey speak from the holographic projection above.

...

[You are on air, say something to the public.]

Eterna’s voice rang out in Grey’s ear.

”Oh... erm?” Grey was caught off guard when he heard this.

He saw a drone flying just in front of him.

It was a federation drone only Eterna could access. Of course, he could access it too, but he would have to work with Eterna in the process.

’Wait, why am I thinking about that right now?’ Grey’s lips twitched uncontrollably.

Right now, millions of people were staring at him.

And for a moment, he did not know what to say anymore.

However, he could not just stare blankly at the screen either.

He coughed lightly and began to speak.

”Hello everyone...” Grey said with a half smile on his face. ”I am the new city lord of the Three Guards Province. Grey Lockhart, nice to meet you all.”

The crowd immediately went wild.

”This is the city lord? He looks so young.”

”How can someone so young looking be a city lord?!”

Some people were bewildered. How could such a young looking city lord guide the city?

Had Eterna made a mistake?

”Maybe he is using some youth preserving technique?”

”Everyone, I found out who he is! Look at the local news of Ashspire City!”

By now, the news of Grey’s appearance and deeds had already spread across Ashspire City. Everything in the city was related to him.

[Breaking news! The powerful master of Formation Master Werner, Grey Lockhart.]

[Corruption fields sealed! A never before seen power, the one behind it is Grey Lockhart!]

[The great formation master who revolutionized the formation, a defensive barrier against the corruption fields and monsters?]

”The corruption fields!” The civilians were stunned.

”He is the one who cleared out the corruption fields in the city!”

Everyone was immediately stunned.

This news spread across the province like wildfire.

”I know many are uncomfortable with the change of the city lord, some might not even care at all. But the truth still stands. I am the city lord of the Three Guards Province and I promise you that as long as I stand, no one will mess with the city. It is my promise.”

”Well, that is all. I expect everyone to cooperate and meet the standards of our city.”

”Oh, and starting today, the Three Guards Province will be called Ascension Province.”

As soon as he spoke, the civilians began to shout loudly, which even Grey could hear from the dead battlefield in the middle of the three cities.

And surprisingly, they were chanting his name.

”City Lord Grey!” someone cried.

Then another.

Voices rose one by one.

”It just appeared out of nowhere... that corruption field almost took my sister. If not for the City Lord acting in time, she would have lost her life!” a woman shouted, tears running down her face.

”My entire street was swallowed in seconds! If City Lord Grey did not clear it, we would all be dead!”

”I saw my neighbors get dragged into that darkness... but they are now safe, it is all thanks to you, City Lord Grey!”

”City Lord Grey! City Lord Grey!”

People clasped their hands, lifted their children, and wiped their faces as they shouted his name again and again.

It was not because of his slightly awkward speech.

No, it was because when the corruption fields suddenly spawned and death swept through their homes, he was the only one who acted.

Thousands upon thousands of people had lost their lives, and this one person single handedly took action and solved everything.

For the first time, they felt like someone stood on their side.

A guardian!

And that someone was Grey!

Grey could hear them across the city with his powerful mind perception, some people calling out his name, others thanking him for clearing the corruption fields.
