Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 184: Province Meeting (11)

The powerful beams of light all soared into the sky in quick succession, and immediately, several foreign faces appeared within Grey’s vision.

Several beautiful women wearing ancient garments and many old men who had aged like fine wine stood side by side.

Beside them, powerful beings with beastly auras dripping out stood in a row. They were not humans, and they looked like some sort of strange creatures, things that one would only see in an eldritch horror story.

Some had the appearance of worms, some looked like octopuses, and some even looked like a mix between a dragon and a phoenix.

Compared to the graceful experts in the sky, they were the parallel opposites.

Then, they started speaking among themselves. One looked enraged, others calm, and the creatures dripped with a powerful beastly aura as they looked toward the hand in the sky.

Then, they all seemed to nod in unison. One by one, they flew higher and shot toward the huge hand with powerful might. They all unleashed their attacks at the same time.

As soon as they did, powerful energy erupted from all corners of the world, and a powerful barrier formed around it.

The human experts rushed toward the hand with their weapons in hand. Energy rolled out of them like a tidal wave as it shot toward the hand.

Boom.

The instant it came into contact with the hand, the world trembled from its power. Even with the barriers, the floating islands closer to the hand were directly vaporized one by one.

Following that moment, Grey began to hear cries of horror. It did not come from the experts. It came from the world itself.

His vision shifted, and he saw many people kneeling on the ground and looking at the hand in terror. He even saw a mother cradling her crying baby in her hands, with tears streaming down her face.

Then, the hand moved. The mysterious pattern across its palm lit up, and immediately a red-black miasma emerged out from it.

The instant it appeared, the people below began to glitch uncontrollably. The kneeling people and the mothers who held their babies closer looked frightened, and then, with a painful scream, they disappeared from reality as if they no longer existed.

It was not just one place. Across the ginormous planet, trillions and trillions of people disappeared one by one.

’How is there so many people?’ Grey could not help but be stunned.

He did not count it, but the information came naturally to him. There were trillions upon trillions of people across this globe.

Perhaps even a sexdecillion number of people.

No, it would be more accurate to say that it was immeasurable, the amount of life within this world.

This boundless world had an immeasurable number of people.

The experts in the sky looked at this scene in terror. The following moment, the barrier that was placed over the world lost its effect. There was no one down there to protect anything, nor was there anyone left to keep it going.

The next moment, the world crumbled. The same suction force appeared from the hand, and along with the experts, the world itself was swallowed into a ball of light.

The next instant, it burst apart inside the hand.

...

Grey blinked. He realized he had changed locations again.

This time, he was within a chaotic space. There was nothing here except a powerful light shining above him.

Below it, there were several more tiny lights blinking. To his surprise, he saw a massive tribulation cloud above one of the lights below. Then, a light shone from the light above to the light below, and the person who attracted the heavenly tribulation was pulled upward.

”??” Grey’s expression changed when he saw this scene.

Looking closely, he realized that these lights were not normal at all.

They were, in fact, worlds.

Several fragments of information surfaced in his mind. This time, they came with faint sounds, as if whispered directly beside his ear. The voices were unclear and blurred, but the cadence eerily resembled a language from his old world, a language he was extremely familiar with.

The language of the east.

Although the pronunciation was distorted, he could still barely make out bits and pieces of meaning.

”lower realm ▇▇▇▇ one day ▇▇▇▇ reach the spiritual realm ▇▇▇▇ cross tribulation ▇▇▇▇ immortals”

Another broken line followed, overlapping like multiple memories bleeding into one another.

”▇▇▇▇ spiritual realm ▇▇▇▇ managed by ▇▇▇▇ immortal ▇▇▇▇ far above”

The voices continued to echo. Some sounded weary, filled with longing.

”we cultivate ▇▇▇▇ struggle all our lives ▇▇▇▇ yet the spiritual realm is still so far ▇▇▇▇ will we ever see it”

Others sounded resentful.

”those in the spiritual realm ▇▇▇▇ blessed with richer qi ▇▇▇▇ we suffer down here ▇▇▇▇ waiting for a chance that may never come”

Then the tone shifted. New voices appeared with sharper accents and heavier grievances. These were definitely from the spiritual realm.

”immortal realm ▇▇▇▇ unreachable heights ▇▇▇▇ even we cannot set foot there”

”the immortal lords decide our ▇▇▇▇ our tribulations ▇▇▇▇ our ▇▇▇▇ everything”

”no matter how hard we cultivate ▇▇▇▇ we are ▇▇▇▇ to true immortals”

Just as the murmurs began to fade, another strand of sound slipped into his mind. It was softer, almost reverent, yet still broken.

”someone ▇▇▇▇ ascended ▇▇▇▇ immortal realm”

”a genius of the era ▇▇▇▇ shattered ▇▇▇▇ soared ▇▇▇▇”

The next fragments carried disbelief and awe, but the meaning was buried.

”truly reached it ▇▇▇▇ the ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ unbelievable”

”even the spiritual realm trembled ▇▇▇▇ light ▇▇▇▇ descended”

Different voices overlapped, hollow and distant, their words broken beyond recognition.

”we cultivate for lifetimes ▇▇▇▇ yet ▇▇▇▇ immortality”

”his name ▇▇▇▇ echo ▇▇▇▇ realms”

”but what awaits ▇▇▇▇ above ▇▇▇▇ even immortals ▇▇▇▇ their fate”

The echoes dissolved entirely, leaving only the sense that something monumental had occurred. It felt as though none of them were meant to remember it clearly.

The whispers scattered like wind-torn mist, leaving behind only a lingering yearning, a desire stretching from the lowest realm to the highest heaven.

”Is this an immortal world?” Grey was pleasantly surprised.

He was first inside a sci-fi world, then inside what appeared to be a world of demons and gods, and now he was inside an immortal world.

What was this?

’Is this some sort of inner demon?’

’Why is it showing me things that I had only read in novels?’

It was all very ultra realistic. Perhaps not even the greatest movie director of the old world could create something like this.

One thing was certain. This was not a dream at all.

Unfamiliar faces, unfamiliar words, and unfamiliar worlds. Even if his imagination ran wild, these things were simply impossible.

Then, he heard a whisper again.

This time, it came from the so-called immortal realm.

”The saints of this era... awaken... for the ▇▇▇▇ stirs once more... we cannot allow the ▇▇▇▇ to descend again... gather your strength... rise beyond the limits of heaven... and sever this wretched cycle before ▇▇▇▇ devours all...”

The voice was powerful, ancient, yet fractured, as if echoing across countless realms and carrying only fragments of a far greater decree.

Grey’s expression immediately changed when he heard the word ”Saint”.
