Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 180: Province meeting (7)

”Reincarnation?” Lia’s face stiffened. ”How could that be? I cannot be that woman, right?”

However, Lia fell silent just as quickly.

She realized over the course of this week or two, her personality had begun to drastically change, almost like she was possessed. In fact, she even thought that she was possessed and went to an immortal cultivator who specialized in ghosts to seek help, yet nothing was of use.

Now, listening to Grey’s words, she was conflicted.

”I’ve already noticed your behaviours.” Grey said casually as he drank one cup of wine. ”While you act the same towards me, it cannot be said the same to others.”

”I’ll be honest, you weren’t the brightest mind I knew before.”

”Haha...” Lia laughed awkwardly when she heard him.

There was some truth to it, but listening to it from Grey himself rather hurt.

”But you’ve changed now.” Grey observed. ”Your aura is different, you’re more reserved and calmer than usual. The Lia I knew would be panicking when something like a high order invasion appeared.”

Although they didn’t know each other for long, Grey still taught her for hours. There was a saying that if you train together then you are at your most vulnerable time when your true character comes out.

Although he was no expert, he could still discern that she had changed.

”About that.” Lia softly said. ”I don’t know for sure...”

”There have been instances where I realized that I have changed, my personality had become different and coincidentally, I am now capable of analyzing someone’s move and making an instant counter to it.” She paused. ”It’s almost like I knew what someone’s next move will be, from what I know this is something only someone who had experienced countless battles can achieve. The number of fights I’ve fought could be counted on one hand.”

”You can analyse an opponent’s move and instantly counter it?” Grey raised an eyebrow.

Lia nodded silently.

”Then how about we test it out?” Grey stood up from his spot.

”If you want to.” Lia nodded and also stood up.

”Good.” Grey spoke as he took a step forward. Immediately a sword appeared in his hands as he sliced it forward, catching Lia off guard.

Lia was alarmed, however just as quickly, a sword appeared in her hands and it moved on its own.

Clank!

To Grey’s surprise, his unexpected attack was actually deflected.

Although the power of the burst force talisman had diminished completely now, he was still very strong. His current power level was between the 5th and 6th level, and he definitely wouldn’t lose to Lia in terms of reaction speed, especially with something like a saint’s eye.

At the same time, he also noticed that her posture was awkward, almost like her body itself was controlled by someone else to counter it.

Out of curiosity, Grey activated time stop and he swung his sword at Lia.

He wanted to test something. Since the gods existed in the timeless world, did that mean Lia wouldn’t be affected?

He was sure that she was stopped in time the last time he used it, but he wanted to see what would happen if she was being attacked.

Buzz!

Sword energy flared as it rushed towards Lia like a huge mountain pressing down on the world.

However, she showed no sign of moving, she was frozen in time just like everything else around him.

However, the next moment, his expression changed drastically. His heart skipped a beat.

Shnn!

A golden light abruptly shone from Lia’s forehead and the following moment a seal formed and a booming voice followed after.

”Who dares to harm the monarch of the legion of god?”

The voice was ethereal and the instant it appeared, the time frozen secret realm shook with tremor. To Grey’s dismay, a glitchy figure abruptly appeared above Lia.

There was no doubt about it, this was God Tongue.

The instant he saw the thing, his mind went blank as an influx of information suddenly began appearing in his head.

He suddenly saw the specks of lights in the starry sky disappearing and being recreated over and over.

’Not good.’ Grey was stunned. He realized that his mind was completely being overpowered from the influx of information, if he didn’t stop this right now he might die from brain death.

However just as quickly as it happened, Lia’s figure flickered and in the time frozen space, her eyes widened.

”S stop!” She instinctively called out seeing Grey gritting his teeth in pain.

However the figure didn’t seem to respond. At the same time the 2nd second limit of Grey’s ability went away and time returned to normal, the figure was still there.

”Those who lay a hand on the monarch shall die!”

As it spoke, reality itself began to twist and turn, the space around them warping like ripples spreading through a shattered mirror. The air trembled with an overwhelming pressure that pressed down on Grey’s body, sealing his limbs and locking his breath in his throat. In that moment, he realized he could no longer move, as if an unseen power had chained his very existence in place.

However, that didn’t last long.

Buzz!

The nexus energy within Grey’s body surged out of his nexus compressed star without restraint. It churned with a wrathful intensity, as if the very notion of something daring to challenge its perfection was an unforgivable sin.

Boom!

The eruption that followed blasted out of Grey like a collapsing heaven, a violent tidal wave of power that ripped through the space around him and hurled Lia into the air as if she weighed nothing.

In the next instant, the glitchy figure that had targeted Grey halted mid action, its form stuttering as if reality itself refused to let it move. A heartbeat later, the figure flickered violently, trembling as though it had glimpsed a terror it could not comprehend, before falling to its knees and vanishing in a single abrupt flash.

Lia on the other hand was slightly injured from the explosion of nexus energy that took place. However just as quickly, light emerged from her head and her injuries began to heal up.

Grey on the other hand, realizing he could move again, swiftly took control of his nexus energy.

However to his surprise, He couldn’t control it fully, it was almost as if it triggered by something.

Could the nexus energy be angry?

Almost as if it had a consciousness of its own.

But it made sense. Something tried to threaten its domination over everything, how could the energy of perfection let it slide?

Not even the Gods would be exempt from it.

Grey eventually took control of it and the nexus energy stirred once and went back into his compressed nexus star.

”...” Then, Grey’s lips twitched uncontrollably.

There was no need to say anything, this was something he brought to himself.

And he got the karma for what he did.
