Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 163: Ascension Province (4)

”What?” Xia Qingyue’s expression became strange. ”She thinks you’re her father?”

”Yes.” Grey said with a sigh. ”It isn’t random either. I believe she thinks I’m her father because of my energy; she reacted to my energy.”

”Your energy?” Xia Qingyue’s expression changed. ”It’s your energy again.”

”That man in the mecha likely went crazy due to your energy as well.”

”I’m afraid it’s something far deeper than just recognising the secrets of my energy.” Grey shook his head. ”If that were the case, then I would be dead by now as well.”

If that had been the logic behind Orin going mad, then by the same reasoning Grey would have been struck by the same terrifying lightning Orin received; instead the one he received was an extremely lenient one his Nexus energy swiftly negated.

His energy could negate things, but there was a limit to what it could do.

If he could negate every other energy no matter the level, he would automatically become the most invincible existence on Blue Star because nothing could harm him then.

Evolvers mainly utilized energies, after all.

Then, he heard Xia Qingyue speak.

”Just what exactly are you hiding? What is the origin of your energy? I know for a fact that aether energy is a direct product of your main energy.” She could no longer contain her curiosity, so she decided to ask.

To this, Grey merely spread his hands. ”You saw what happened with Orin; if I speak carelessly you might be struck down by Heaven as well.”

”I’m definitely not going to say anything after what happened with Orin. And I’m not using my Nexus Overlock within the range of someone with the Law of Machinery again.”

”You know about the Law of Machinery?” The immortal lady was curious. ”Did Eterna tell you that? Wait, no... she isn’t the type to do that.”

She shook her head. She still did not know that Grey and Eterna communicated actively every day.

Even if Grey said so, she would not believe it; Eterna was something even she could not underestimate, a powerful AI from the starry sky, and she would likely take it as a joke if Grey claimed that Eterna actively contacted him and sought him out.

”I just figured it out myself.” Grey shrugged.

It was true; he discovered the law through his comprehension, and only then did Eterna learn of it.

At the same time, Grey considered whether he should reveal things about Blue Star to the immortal lady or not.

’Let’s not,’ Grey mused.

Telling her would not change anything; there were still details that needed to be clarified, and only then would he reveal them to her.

Not just to her, but to the entire Blue Star, he would only reveal it to the world once he broke the barrier that surrounds the Starcrest Continent.

Of course, he did plan on revealing things about the chaos seal. She was from the starry sky; she should definitely know something about it.

’Could there be more fourth-rank beings outside the barrier?’ This was a thought Grey often had, and it had arisen in his mind after the discussion about the fifth rank.

He believed it was highly likely.

Of course, he could not say for certain whether it would be a human or an abyssal being.

In the end, the only way to find out was to go there personally.

”Anyways, as I was saying, she can’t be gotten rid of because she was found inside the secret realm near Ashspire City and now I own that secret realm.” Grey explained.

”You own the secret realm?” Xia Qingyue was slightly surprised. ”Did you merge its core?”

”That’s right.” Grey nodded.

”Secret realms on this planet actually have cores?” Xia Qingyue was surprised. ”This...”

She knew this planet was not normal; as someone from the starry sky she knew not all secret realms had cores and usually the ones that had cores constantly expanded and eventually turned into worlds, and to find one in this backwater planet with very little cosmic energy was extraordinary.

”That is correct. Now I can access it any time I want and have full control over it.” Grey replied.

”Impressive.” Xia Qingyue said. ”People in the starry sky kill each other for a secret realm with a core, and yet here you are, casually owning one.”

”Huh?” Hearing this, Grey was confused. ”Why would they kill each other for a secret realm with a core, senior?”

Grey was slightly surprised.

”Don’t worry about it for now; you’ll naturally understand once you reach Origin Manifestation.” Xia Qingyue said. ”But for now, keep the secret realm safe; it’ll come in handy during that time.”

”If you say so.” Grey nodded.

Since she did not want to reveal more, he naturally did not pry.

He would find out about it without her help either way.

That’s how he had managed things until now; even if the two cosmic elders, Eterna and the immortal lady who came from the starry sky, did not reveal anything to him, he eventually discovered the truth himself.

That’s just how things went.

”Keep the child under surveillance. I still don’t trust her completely; I feel a sense of unease when I look at her.” Xia Qingyue returned to the subject and spoke; they had already deviated from the main topic countless times, and she needed to finish her words now because she was running out of power at a fast rate.

”You do not have to worry about that. She won’t act out of line; she listens to me completely.” Grey said while shaking his head.

Then, Xia Qingyue asked, ”Just how exactly did you find her? What is the origin of that realm?”

”She was inside the core of the realm.” Grey replied.

”The core?” Xia Qingyue frowned. ”It’s true that secret realms gain consciousness at a certain stage, but she definitely isn’t the consciousness of that secret realm; I can tell that much.”

To this, Grey paused and asked, ”Senior, do you know anything about the chaos seal?”

Hearing this, Xia Qingyue’s expression turned serious.

Her gaze locked onto Little Hong with a look of disbelief forming on her face.

”Repeat what you just said!” She said in a trembling tone.

”I said chaos seal.” Grey said with a blank stare.

Didn’t she hear him the first time?

Did using her time ability make her deaf?
