Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 169: Ascension Province (10)

After that, they immediately descended into Grey’s mansion. On the way, Werner also left. He wanted to go find his disciples, Meiying and Meiling.

Now, only Lia, Little Hong who was sleeping soundly in Lia’s embrace, and Grey were left.

”This is where I’ve been living after I left Nova City.” Grey said with a smile. ”It isn’t that big, but it can accommodate at least four people inside without any problem.”

”You can temporarily rest here if you’d like, or I can find you another place to stay if that is your preference.” Grey said with a smile.

To this, Lia shook her head. ”No, I’ll stay with you.”

Then, she paused and asked. ”Who is that lady that appeared when we arrived?”

Hearing this, Grey laughed. ”Why, are you curious?”

And to his surprise, Lia nodded at him silently.

”She’s the one who found me during the time Tiger Claw Gang was chasing after me, and before this, I used to sell her formations for a living. This mansion is also a gift from her in return for helping her fix her health problem.”

”Her health problem?” Lia inquired.

”Yes, she had some problems with her body. Her body experienced pain at nights, and I simply fixed it for her.” Grey remarked.

The words ’fixed her’ echoed in Lia’s ears longer than she expected. She did not understand why, but an odd, prickly warmth rose beneath her chest.

”I... I also have a problem,” Lia suddenly blurted out. ”Can you fix me too?”

The moment the words left her lips, her face flushed. Why did she say it like that?

Grey, however, did not think much of it. ”Are you talking about your energy going out of control?”

Lia nodded, avoiding his gaze.

”That can be handled,” Grey said confidently. ”With my guidance, you will get used to the energy in a few weeks.”

”Alright...” Lia murmured, feeling a strange mix of relief and something else she could not name.

Grey smiled. ”It must have been a long day. Go choose any room you like and rest.”

Lia hesitated a bit and spoke as she slowly parted her lips. ”What about you? You have been working hard too. You are not going to rest?”

”Not yet.” He shook his head. ”There are still some things to take care of. I will be back in an hour or two.”

”Okay.” Lia nodded.

Grey nodded back at her, and he then shot off into the sky, leaving Lia alone.

With him gone, Lia entered the mansion and looked around. There were some undone dishes in the kitchen, some leftover pizza, and other fast food items in the refrigerator and others.

Seeing this, she shook her head. ”He forgot to do his dishes.”

Then, she made her way into a room that was closest to the kitchen. Inside, there was not much but a simple bed and some shelves, meaning this room was not being used. Since that was the case, she gently placed Little Hong there and then began to explore the mansion.

She was curious about the place Grey lived in during the two months they were separated.

At the same time, she was glad that he was not living on the streets.

She had always been worried about this, Grey in the streets with no place to stay.

However, there was no need to worry anymore.

Grey was now the city lord of the Ascension Province which had four cities. He could live anywhere he liked and no one would come complaining.

...

In the sky, Grey looked at two different directions. One led to the Ardent family, and another led to Interwire Corporation.

Today was a long day, and he already felt like stopping everything and going to sleep.

But he could not rest until he had completely uprooted the main villains.

And so, he was debating whether he should go to the Ardent family to throw his disco ball at them or the Interwire Company first.

In the end, Grey decided to go with Interwire Corporation.

All he had to do was bomb the entire headquarters.

The Interwire Corporation was completely under the High Order, and there was no need for hesitation.

They all deserved to die.

Then, Grey flew directly towards the headquarters of Interwire Corporation.

As soon as he did, the skyscraper’s windowed panels shifted, and several weaponry immediately burst forth from the building.

”He’s here! Fire!” An employee at the Interwire Company screamed.

Immediately, powerful energy beams shot towards Grey.

Seeing this, Grey was momentarily speechless.

He wondered if these people had dirt in their heads instead of brain cells.

They should have already seen the livestream or heard Eterna’s announcement, yet they were still bold enough to directly attack him.

”Getting attacked in my own territory doesn’t feel that good.”

Grey mumbled, and instantly a terrifying mental fluctuation erupted out from him. Following the next moment, the countless Interwire members who were attacking him all dropped to the ground with a blank look on their faces.

Then, Grey’s hands flickered as a magic circle with intricate patterns appeared on his fingertips. Immediately, a disco ball of light emerged from his fingertip, and soon it began to grow as the flames grew, and eventually it reached the size of a huge football stadium. Grey waved his hands as talismans burst out from his spatial ring, and quickly, a barrier formed around the entire Interwire Building.

Now, the people inside could not go outside, nor would what he was about to do affect the city.

Without thinking twice, he hurled the huge ball of fire toward the towering skyscraper.

Inside the underground facility of Interwire Corporation, Marcius had a grim look on his face.

He was now at the late stage of 2nd rank, and the pill Varyn gave him had directly pushed him to late stage.

But so what?

It was all for nothing.

”I was wrong.” Marcius said while shaking. ”I shouldn’t have sided with the High Order.”

Marcius truly regretted his action now.

However, things were far too late.

He had already sensed the terrifying mental fluctuation.

His life ended here today.

A feeling of dread assaulted Marcius as he lay waiting.

And it did not take long. A disco ball of bright light suddenly entered the underground hidden facility, and Marcius, seeing this, burst out into tears, and just as quickly, his body was vaporized along with the entirety of Interwire Corporation.

Starting today, there would no longer be any Interwire Corporation.
