Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2172: Chapter 2167: Full of Gunpowder Tension

”What mission, Commander, just tell me, I promise to complete it!” Zhao Dong said.

”It’s a surveillance mission.”

”Surveillance mission? What’s the content of the mission, Commander?” Zhao Dong pursued further.

”To surveil Yuan Yunong!” Qin Jian stopped keeping it mysterious and said directly, ”After all this time, through my observations and analyses, I feel Yuan Yunong is a spy! So I hope you’ll monitor her in the days to come, and remember not to slip up.”

”Yuan Yunong is a spy?” Zhao Dong’s eyes widened in disbelief, ”Commander, you must be mistaken, right? How could she possibly be a spy?”

”Why not?” Qin Jian raised an eyebrow and said, ”I won’t give you much explanation; since I’ve asked you to do this, there’s certainly a reason for it, you just need to carry out the mission!”

”Yes!” Zhao Dong said, standing at attention.

”Hmm! Do you have any other questions?”

”If I’m surveilling her, what should happen to my work?”

”Just report and request family leave! I’ll approve it, and you don’t need to worry about the rest. Just focus on surveilling her for me and I’ll handle everything else!”

”Yes!”

......

On Monday, An Hao went to drop off the two children at kindergarten.

As usual, Yuan Yunong was at the classroom door to greet the children. Seeing An Hao with the two kids, she hurried over.

”You’re personally dropping off the kids today?”

An Hao swept away her usual gentle demeanor, today her expression and words were much colder: ”Yes, from now on I will drop them off every day.”

”That’s great. Little Chenyang and Little Chenguang will certainly feel very happy!” Yuan Yunong said smiling at An Hao.

”Really? Then isn’t it that you might feel less happy?” An Hao squinted at Yuan Yunong, her words biting, ”I imagine you would prefer Qin Jian to drop them off, that way you both have an extra chance to meet each day.”

An Hao’s words were full of gunpowder, making the other parents pause in their steps.

Yuan Yunong’s expression stiffened: ”What do you mean by saying that? I can’t understand.”

”Do you really not understand or just pretending?” An Hao sneered at her, ”Also, from now on you should address me as Dr. An! That sounds better to me!”

”Fine.” Yuan Yunong also lowered her face, noticing more people gathering, she raised her voice, ”You can’t treat me like this! You were the one who asked me to help look after your two children, and now you’re suspecting me! I admit I did visit your house often, but I’ve never done anything with Commander Qin! He’s a very upright person!”

”I believe he’s upright! But I don’t trust you!” An Hao stared at her and said.

”You...” Yuan Yunong said, tears in her eyes, feeling extremely wronged, ”How could you treat me this way! I’ve given so much, exactly for what?”

”Exactly for what? I think you know better than me!” An Hao smirked and said, ”I’m afraid you’re attracted to my husband! Let me tell you, Yuan Yunong, don’t think you can mess with me! If I find out you’re playing games behind my back, I definitely won’t let you off lightly!”

After finishing, An Hao turned and left, leaving Yuan Yunong standing there, subjected to whispers and finger-pointing from others.
