Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2168: Chapter 2163: Is It a Coincidence?

”What?” Yuan Yunong looked at Hua Jin with a face full of disappointment and said, ”You don’t even want to look at me anymore?”

”Did you forget what I told you? I said we shouldn’t meet so casually again.” Hua Jin’s deep voice was laced with suppressed anger.

”So it’s because of her!” Yuan Yunong shouted angrily, ”Is that why you’re treating me like this? Brother Hua Jin, did you forget the difficult times we went through together, side by side?”

”I haven’t forgotten.” Those dark times are forever etched in Hua Jin’s heart.

”You haven’t forgotten, yet you treat me this way!”

”I told you not to meet because the two of us can’t appear together! That night we almost ran into Yan Ye’s car, I wasn’t sure if he saw my face!” If the two of them appeared together, it would surely arouse suspicion.

This group’s IQ is very high, their observations are meticulous and their thinking is intricate; a slight misstep could expose everything.

”I just don’t understand, why are you here with a doctor’s identity?” Yuan Yunong said angrily, ”Do you dare say you don’t like An Hao?”

”Stop guessing! Hurry and leave!”

Hua Jin didn’t want to continue this topic with Yuan Yunong.

An Hao took a taxi; she hadn’t gone far when she suddenly realized she forgot her bag.

She hurriedly got back on the taxi to return to Nanguofeng to retrieve her bag. Just as she arrived at the restaurant entrance, she was about to get off when she suddenly saw Hua Jin and Yuan Yunong talking.

She closed the car door again and sat inside quietly observing.

But soon, Yuan Yunong turned and left.

And Hua Jin walked down another path; afterwards, the two of them had no further interaction.

Only then did An Hao get off the car and return to the restaurant, fortunately the bag had been picked up by the waiter.

Arrived back home.

The children were all asleep, Qin Jian was waiting for her at home.

Mother-in-law Zhang Yun had left early in the morning, leaving just the four of them in the house again.

Seeing An Hao return, Qin Jian closed the magazine he was reading and set it aside.

”How was it? Was dinner good?”

”It was fine. Gained quite a bit!” An Hao said while changing her clothes.

”Tell me more.”

”Medical knowledge, that’s a given. But I had an unexpected discovery...”

An Hao hadn’t finished speaking when Qin Jian said, ”Is this man called Hua Jin interested in you?”

”How do you know?”

An Hao was taken aback.

”Intuition!”

Having changed her clothes, An Hao flitted to Qin Jian’s side like a small bird, leaning her head on his shoulder, ”Maybe... I kind of feel like he might be! But is this just me being overly sentimental?”

”It definitely isn’t just imagining things! My wife is so beautiful, of course many would be coveting her!” Qin Jian hugged An Hao’s neck, kissed her, and said, ”Once my leg is better, I’ll go meet this Hua Jin, see if he really has three heads and six arms to dare covet what’s mine!”

”Annoying!” An Hao punched him lightly in the chest, ”I’ve already made it clear to him. But the thing I wanted to talk about isn’t this.”

”What is it then?” Qin Jian asked.

”Not sure if I’m overthinking it, but tonight I left my bag at Nanguofeng, when I went back to get it, I saw Hua Jin and Yuan Yunong talking.”

An Hao said.

”Could it be a coincidence?”

”Not sure. That’s why I think Hua Jin is worth keeping an eye on.”

Qin Jian nodded in agreement, ”Seems like we should report these findings to the National Security Bureau tomorrow, get them to assist.”

”Yes.” An Hao nodded.

.........

The following day was a rainy, drizzly weather, and Yuan Yunong got up early to take leave and went to the cemetery.
