Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1544: Chapter 1544: What is Family

An Hao saw An Family father and son standing outside the door and immediately a smile appeared on her face. Holding the child, she walked down the steps and excitedly said, ”Dad, An Ping! How come you’re here? Why didn’t you let me know in advance so I could have arranged for someone to pick you up?”

”No need, no need. It’s easy for us to get here. I’ve even learned how to take the city buses! No more wandering around the city trying to find places.” An Shuchao said with a smile.

”Dad, An Ping! Next time just let me know beforehand. A few days ago, Qin Jian and I were discussing installing a telephone at home.” Qin Jian said.

”No, no, no! What do us farmers need a telephone for? I’m not old yet, and my arms and legs are still strong enough to come out and about.” After An Shuchao finished speaking, he looked at Qin Jian, ”How about you? An Hao, this child too, you had such a serious incident, and I knew nothing about it. The girl kept it tightly hidden from us!”

”Exactly, sister! Why would you do this?” An Ping was very upset with An Hao this time.

He, of course, knew that An Hao didn’t want her family to worry, which is why she kept it from them. But knowing now would only make them worry more.

And they are her family.

What is family?

Family are those people who, no matter what difficulties or hardships they face, will always stand by your side.

Maybe they can’t solve your problems, but they will cry with you, be sad with you, share your burdens, and accompany you through those dark, gloomy days.

For a woman whose young husband ’died’, and yet she kept it hidden from her family and put on a brave face alone for so long.

”I know I was wrong, isn’t that enough? I won’t do it again.” An Hao said with a smile, ”Don’t be angry anymore, come on inside and sit down! Let’s not block the doorway.”

”That’s fine. But what were you two up to?” An Shuchao handed his stuff to the security guard, reached out to take the child in An Hao’s arms, kissed the child tenderly, ”This little guy, looking so sturdy and cheerful, really delightful!”

”Today the weather is nice and sunny, we planned to take the child for a picnic in the park! Get some sun and unwind a bit.” It’s rare to have such good times, she wanted to go out and relax as well.

”That sounds great. You’re right; you’re both busy and tired, you should go out. As for me, I just came to check on Qin Jian and the child. Knowing you all are fine, I’m relieved. You go to the park. I’ll visit An Ping’s company with him.”

As An Shuchao was speaking, Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun heard the commotion and came out of the house.

Seeing the Qin Family had come with things big and small, they quickly invited them inside the house.

”Hey old buddy, you’re already here, why not come in and sit? Are you thinking my hospitality isn’t good enough?” Ning Yibin was also off for the day.

It was a good opportunity to spend time with guests as his in-laws were here.

”Boss, look at what you’re saying. You all are busy, I’m the only idle one here. I was just afraid of taking up your precious time. My goal was just to see Qin Jian and the child, to know they’re all fine and I’d be at ease.” An Shuchao spoke sincerely.

”No matter how busy, where can it go? In-laws are here, we must entertain them properly.” Ning Yibin spoke to Zhang Yun, who was preparing tea, ”In a bit, cook a few good dishes. Let’s have a good drink with the in-laws.”
