Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1516: Chapter 1516: Fate Should Not End

After dinner, Zhang Yun cleaned up the dishes and utensils, while Ning Yibin, who had a lot of things he wanted to say to his son, let him go upstairs to rest upon seeing his exhausted expression.

His severe injuries had not healed yet, and after a long, bumpy journey, he was certainly worn out by then.

Qin Jian’s body indeed felt uncomfortable; healing his injuries thoroughly would still take some time.

Ning Yibin personally helped his son upstairs and handed him over to An Hao, ”You might have to work hard tonight.”

”Dad, look at what you’re saying. It’s not hard at all. I’m too happy to see Qin Jian back,” An Hao replied.

”Okay, then you guys should rest early.”

Ning Yibin glanced again at the two little ones lying in bed, still waving their fists and not sleeping, so he said to An Hao, ”As for the kids, let them sleep with me and your mom tonight. You’ll be worn out taking care of three people.”

”That’s okay, Dad, you should rest early too. After all, you and Mom have not closed your eyes for days and nights because of Qin Jian’s situation. Now that he’s back, both of you should really relax and rest.”

”Then... alright.” Ning Yibin’s health was not good, and his heart had been troubling him often these days.

He knew it was because he was too tired, and inadequate sleep was always causing issues.

Ning Yibin went downstairs, and An Hao got up to lock the door.

She turned around and rushed towards Qin Jian, who was sitting at the head of the bed, ”Come on. Let me see your wounds.”

Qin Jian clenched his clothes tightly and refused to let go, ”Don’t look. You will just feel sad.”

”No. Let me see. Don’t hide it from me! I’m bound to find out about your injuries sooner or later.” An Hao’s gaze was stubborn as she insisted on seeing them clearly.

Qin Jian knew he couldn’t stop An Hao, so he let her do it.

An Hao slowly unbuttoned Qin Jian’s shirt and, upon seeing the extensive abrasions on his chest, felt incredibly heartbroken; his originally smooth, honey-colored skin was now rough and covered with various scars.

”Did it hurt a lot at that time?” An Hao’s fingers gently stroked his wounds, her eyes full of sorrow.

”It didn’t hurt.” Qin Jian caught her hand and kissed it, his eyes falling on An Hao’s emaciated cheeks, ”But you, these days must have been unbearable, right?”

An Hao pressed his rough hands against her cheek, gently rubbing them, ”Yes. It was unbearable! The thought that I might never see you again and that our children would grow up without their father’s involvement made me very sad. But fortunately, you have finally returned! The painful wait was worth it.”

”The pain of the body is not pain. Every day and night we were apart, I wished I could fly to your side, to tell you I was still alive, to encourage you to keep going! To spare you from worrying about me!”

”Thankfully, fate was kind.” Qin Jian gently lifted An Hao’s chin and gently kissed her lips, ”My life was not meant to end yet!”

When it came to the matter of his life not meant to end, An Hao asked Qin Jian, ”I heard you fell into a crevice. How did you fall and how were you rescued?”

Qin Jian’s previously gentle and calm gaze turned deep and dark. He slowly opened his lips and said, ”I was stabbed by someone close to me. Do you know? The blade went right through my heart.”
