Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1188: Chapter 1188: Looking for Trouble Comes Knocking

He was shirtless, revealing a muscular chest and a beautifully sculpted set of abs, his honey-colored skin glistening in the afternoon sunlight.

”What are you doing?” An Hao looked at him with puzzlement.

Qin Jian didn’t speak; instead, he got into position and crooked a finger at An Ping, ”Come over, knock me down and you’ll get your anger out.”

”Alright! You asked for it. Brother-in-law, then please forgive my indiscretion,” An Ping yelled as he rushed forward.

”Hey. Don’t hurt him,” An Hao, alarmed by their posturing, quickly reminded Qin Jian.

With An Ping’s slender frame, she really feared that Qin Jian might accidentally knock him flat.

”Don’t worry, I’m just helping him vent.”

An Ping frantically exerted all his strength fighting against Qin Jian, who deftly dodged while advising him on his next moves.

The two grown men fought in the yard for a good half-hour, both drenched in sweat.

Finally, An Ping ran out of energy and sprawled flat on the ground, panting heavily for a long time before he finally calmed down.

Qin Jian slipped on the clothes handed to him by An Hao, glanced at An Ping lying on the ground, and asked, ”How about it, feel better now?”

”Not just better. I don’t even have the strength to talk,” An Ping said weakly.

”Go on, get up, take a bath and sleep a bit. When you wake up, it’ll all be over,” An Hao stepped forward and gently patted his shoulder, ”Forget about Niu Shanshan. He’s not worth your full-hearted devotion.”

When An Ping woke up, the sun had already set, and the evening sky was stained red.

He got up from his bed, sore all over, and stepped into the yard, where everything had returned to normal.

Even the couplet at the door had been taken down.

It was as if the previous day’s festivities were but a dream, vanished in a blink.

”You’re awake?” An Hao emerged from the kitchen holding two bowls of steaming dumplings, ”Feel any better?”

”Hmm,” An Ping nodded.

”Come and eat. I made your favorite dumplings,” An Hao said with a comforting smile.

”Thank you, sister,” An Ping gratefully replied.

”Family don’t owe each other thanks. Come on, let’s eat dumplings.”

..................

Both families spent the night without incident.

Early the next day, An Hao sent Qin Jian back to the city, sensing that this affair was far from over.

Knowing Niu Xiuling’s temperament, she would likely make a big fuss once she found out.

She had to come up with solid evidence to slap Niu Xiuling in the face in front of everyone.

This sense of outrage, she had to release it on behalf of the An Family.

After breakfast, Qin Jian left for the city, heading straight to the military hospital’s ultrasound department to retrieve those test results.

Upon getting them, he hurried back home.

Noon.

Three members of the An Family were gathered around the table, about to start their meal with chopsticks in hand

when suddenly, a commotion was heard at the door.

”Who is that? Can’t even have a quiet meal!” An Ping said with a frown.

Listening to the noise, An Hao put down her chopsticks, ”Troublemakers have arrived.”

Hearing this, An Shuchao and An Ping also set their chopsticks down with a clack.

It was the first time they actually hoped for someone to come looking for trouble, ready to take the opportunity to vent all the frustrations they had been holding in.

It was also time to show the Niu Family that although the An Family tended to keep a low profile in the village, they were definitely not ones to be easily bullied.
