Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1164: Chapter 1164: Are You Jealous Right Now?

”Yes, I haven’t forgotten that she was once on your mind,” Qin Jian said indifferently.

”After all this time, you still haven’t forgotten about that, have you? The sour tone in your words just now, can’t be because you’re jealous, can it?” After Yan Ye finished speaking, he smirked and mockingly said, ”You act so reserved and restrained in front of her, does she even know you’re such a big vat of vinegar?”

”That has nothing to do with you,” Qin Jian said before turning to leave.

”It had something to do with me when you were asking for my help just now, didn’t it?” Yan Ye taunted him a couple of times.

Qin Jian stopped in his tracks, turned around, and looked at him, ”Thank you, Yan Ye. Considering you’ve helped our family so much, I really should thank you properly.”

”Oh, how do you plan to thank me?” Yan Ye asked with interest.

”Make good use of your time and find yourself a date.”

”You...” This was definitely done on purpose to annoy him.

Qin Jian arrived at General Surgery and went straight to the director’s office.

Ji Chuan was sitting behind his desk, frowning and writing something on a piece of paper with many corrections.

Qin Jian raised his hand to knock on the door.

Ji Chuan lifted his head, and seeing the person standing at the door was An Hao’s husband, he was stunned for a few seconds.

”Director Ji, hello, my name is Qin Jian. We just met yesterday, and I appreciate you sending my wife home yesterday,” Qin Jian walked over and extended his hand, initiating a handshake with Ji Chuan.

”Hello, hello, please have a seat.”

Out of politeness, the two men exchanged a few pleasantries.

Qin Jian got straight to the point, ”Director Ji, I need a favor from you. I’d like to ask about Ruan Fangfang’s performance in the department.”

”You’re asking the wrong person, shouldn’t you be asking about An Hao?” Ji Chuan said, ”She’s a hardworking and excellent person. If she keeps it up, she will undoubtedly become an exceptional surgeon.”

”Thank you for giving her such high praise, but today, I really want to know about Ruan Fangfang’s performance,” Qin Jian reiterated his question.

”Her performance is mediocre, and she is easily distracted. Who knows what she fills her head with every day; anyhow, she’s not the candidate I’m looking for,” Ji Chuan evaluated objectively.

Actually, he didn’t need to tell Qin Jian any of these things. But before Qin Jian came, Yan Ye had called ahead, asking him to play along.

As a friend, he couldn’t let Yan Ye down.

Qin Jian explained the purpose of his visit, earnestly asking Ji Chuan for his help later.

Ji Chuan readily agreed, especially since he also didn’t want to keep seeing an intern who was an eyesore, constantly bustling about under his nose, yet unable to do any work satisfactorily.

”Thank you.”

Having gained a general understanding of Ruan Fangfang’s situation and work performance, Qin Jian then went up to the dean’s office.

It was now nearly May, and the various departments had begun to report on the interns’ performance consecutively.

Although the students from the military academy all had their assignments.

But if a talent is discovered during the internship, the dean could still negotiate with the school to bring them in ahead of time.

After reviewing An Hao’s internship report, the dean had already silently made a decision.

Such a student could be retained early on as part of the talent reserve, and the dean picked up a red pen to annotate on top of the report.

The next report was the evaluations of Ruan Fangfang by the directors of various departments throughout her rotations.

The assessments weren’t very good, except for in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, there hadn’t been any issues in the other departments.

As the dean was considering her stay or departure, a knock on the door was heard.
