Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 178: Chapter 177 This is what you asked for

Song Yueqin saw An Hao looking over and said with a cheeky smile, ”Oh dear, I’m really sorry, I didn’t see you eating your biscuit here and I accidentally knocked you over.”

”Then you must be blind!” An Hao glared at her, her eyes blazing with anger.

Seeing An Hao get angry, Song Yueqin was even more pleased with herself. She squatted down, picked up the thoroughly mud-soaked book from the mire with two fingers, and clucked her tongue, ”Oh dear, the book is completely drenched in mud now, such a shame...”

”Song Yueqin, you brought this upon yourself today.” An Hao gritted her teeth, her expression darkening, and with a swift lift of her foot, she kicked the squatting Song Yueqin hard into the mud pit.

”Ah!” Song Yueqin hadn’t expected An Hao to actually kick her, and with a splat, she tumbled into the muddy water.

Though it was springtime and not too cold, being covered in mud was no pleasant experience.

Mud, messy and cold, filled Song Yueqin’s mouth, leaving her no time to breathe; she spat it out vigorously.

As she spat, she also tried to stand up, cursing An Hao, ”You lowlife, this isn’t over between us.”

No sooner had the words left her mouth than An Hao kicked her in the chest again. Song Yueqin hadn’t yet gotten up when she plonked back into the mud pit, splashing up a large wave.

Seeing her in such a sorry state, An Hao laughed, ”I’m really sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose, and now I’ve even knocked you down twice. If your mouth is still filthy, I don’t mind knocking you down a couple more times.”

”An Hao, you haven’t heard the last of this.” Song Yueqin, wiping the mud from her face, crawled out of the mud pit and threw the cold pancake at An Hao.

An Hao dodged quickly, and the pancake hit the ground.

The commotion the two were making was too great and drew out all their classmates.

Seeing everyone had come out, Song Yueqin hurriedly assumed a weak appearance, covering her face to cry, ”An Hao, was that really necessary? I only accidentally bumped into you, which is why your name and book fell into the mud. I know your family is too poor to afford books, and I already said I would pay you back. Why did you have to push me into the water?”

Her words made everyone turn to look at An Hao.

Liu Qiaoqiao, who was on good terms with Song Yueqin, stood up. Seeing Song Yueqin sitting in the mud pit looking pitiful, she didn’t hesitate to stand up and accuse An Hao, ”It was definitely you who pushed her. I saw it.”

”You saw it, huh? How did you see it, I ask you? With the wall behind and the window so high, where did you watch from? Did you develop telescopic vision, or did you grow ’wind-passing’ ears?” An Hao retorted without mercy.

Liu Qiaoqiao was at a loss for words, her face turning bright red, ”You... you...”

She couldn’t articulate her reasoning after quite some time.

This caused the onlooking boys and girls to erupt in laughter.

Song Yueqin became anxious for her intelligence, ”Would you hurry up and help me up, why waste words with her?”

Liu Qiaoqiao, who cared about her own image and was laughed at, felt humiliated, and Song Yueqin’s words only added to her displeasure.

”Wasn’t I just trying to help you?”

”With the facts right before my eyes, do I need your help? It was An Hao who pushed me.”

”Fine, my goodwill is taken for donkey’s liver and lungs. I won’t bother with you, I’m leaving.” In a huff, Liu Qiaoqiao turned and walked away, not bothering to pull up Song Yueqin.

”Alright, stop gawking and hurry up to pull her up.” Shen Zhihua, disturbed by the commotion, came out from the classroom and, seeing the situation, asked someone to quickly pull up Song Yueqin.
