Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 161: Chapter 160: Moving with Helpers

Hearing An Hao calling him again, An Ping twisted around and returned to the room.

”Sis, is there anything else you need?”

”About the matter of moving our stuff from home, don’t ask Captain Tian to accompany you. Go find your good friends to help you out instead.”

An Hao’s words puzzled An Ping, ”Why is that, sis?”

If it came to strength, those soldiers who were trained every day in all kinds of drills, surely they had more strength than them, right?

Besides, more hands make light work, with so many people, they could probably move everything in one trip.

If he had to ask a few of his good friends, how many trips would that take?

”They are in the PLA. They are disciplined in their actions. If you ask them to help move things from home, Bai Xue will surely kick up a fuss and not stop at anything. Then she might go out and speak ill of us to the neighbors, which could affect the image of the PLA. It’s not good if people who kindly come to help us out end up getting caught in controversy,” An Hao had considered all these things.

”What you said makes sense, sis. I overlooked that,” An Ping nodded and said, ”Then I’ll go find Erzhuzi and the others. We are the closest of friends. If I mention this matter, they will surely be willing to help.”

”That’s fine, but before you take them to move the stuff, make sure to notify each of their parents in advance. Explain the situation, and if they are not willing, then don’t go through with it.” An Hao had considered all the things she could think of.

Even though she was in the right in this small matter, she couldn’t guarantee that those who didn’t know the truth wouldn’t be deceived by Bai Xue, thinking it was An Hao who couldn’t tolerate her stepmother and stepsister.

”Alright, sis, don’t worry about it, I promise to complete the mission.”

An Ping went out, heading straight to call on his buddies.

He recounted to them every bit of what had happened at home.

Erzhuzi and the others were so furious they were almost crooked with anger.

When the parents of Erzhuzi and the others heard about it, they both felt bad for An Hao and cursed Bai Xue for not being human.

They were outraged that she would gang up with her daughter to bully An Hao.

And considering that An Shuchao was quite an honest and easy-going sort of person, An Hao surely couldn’t avoid being mistreated.

”Erzhuzi, go on then! The last time An Ping asked to borrow money from us, we were too poor to lend him any, and your father and I felt quite bad about it. You and An Ping are good friends, so now that you can help with some of the work within your power, you go ahead,” Erzhuzi’s mother said.

An Ping, Erzhuzi, and Liu Xiaolian strutted off to An Ping’s house to move things.

As soon as they entered, they made directly for An Hao’s room.

The tables, cabinets, and stools in An Hao’s room were all part of her mother’s dowry when she got married.

The three of them divided up the work, two lifted while one carried, and they started clanging away, moving An Hao’s belongings out of the room.

Bai Xue was tearfully explaining the situation to An Shuchao in the room while Bai Yanjiao was also defending her, taking the opportunity to speak ill of An Hao, ”Dad, you’ve been with my mom for so many years, don’t you know what she’s like? It’s very likely An Hao has got it wrong, so she’s framing my mom. With her temper, she’s sure to have upset quite a few people, and that’s why someone’s taking revenge on her. She’s just looking for an excuse to drive us two away!”

”Old An, whether you believe me or not, if you don’t trust me, I’ll prove my innocence with my death.”

”Let the past be the past, let’s not bring it up again!” An Shuchao was also dizzy from these various family entanglements.

Now that it was over, he no longer wanted to talk about it.

”Alright then, if you don’t want to hear it, I’ll stop talking,” Bai Xue finally let out a sigh of relief. Before she could get too relieved, she heard a commotion outside.

She stood up and looked out the window to see An Ping busying himself with moving things, and she immediately panicked.
