Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 162: Chapter 161: None of Your Business

”Old An, you need to get up and see what An Ping is doing!” Bai Xue shouted loudly.

Bai Yanjiao also heard the commotion and looked outside, immediately blowing up: ”Mom, An Ping has moved all the things out of the house.”

”Exactly, Old An, you need to take care of this.” Just now Bai Xue had made a scene with An Hao, and she didn’t dare to offend An Ping as well.

She clearly understood that in An Shuchao’s heart, An Ping’s status was different from An Hao’s.

So she wanted An Shuchao to deal with this.

With Bai Xue’s help, An Shuchao got out of bed, used his crutch to push aside the curtain, and walked into the courtyard.

Seeing An Ping, Erzhuzi, and Liu Xiaolian busy and sweating profusely, he asked An Ping, ”What are you doing?”

”I’ve come to move my sister’s things.” An Ping said, ”Sister has gone there, and there’s nothing in her new home. Do you want her to only have a kang to sleep on?”

An Shuchao thought his son made sense and nodded, ”Alright, go ahead and move her stuff for her.”

Now that he had spoken, An Ping felt even less reason to worry.

He called out to Erzhuzi and Liu Xiaolian and moved things out with great effort.

Seeing that An Shuchao did nothing, Bai Xue felt unhappy: ”The person has left, but she’s taking so much stuff with her.”

”She has already left this family, what more do you want from her?” An Shuchao said gruffly, giving Bai Xue a retort.

”Did I make her leave?” Bai Xue’s complexion also darkened, ”She left of her own volition.”

”I didn’t say you made her leave. I’m just saying, if it’s her own things, then let her take them.”

”Are these things hers? They belong to our family.” Bai Yanjiao muttered.

”Even if these things are from my family, they have nothing to do with you.” An Ping came out carrying things and overheard her, so he butt in, ”These things are my mother’s dowry, and now they’ve been given to my sister, what’s it to you?”

With those words, Bai Yanjiao was silenced.

Such a commotion at the An Family had attracted the attention of neighbors.

Those who liked gossip came over to ask, ”Why are you moving out?”

Seeing someone asking, Bai Xue hurriedly replied, ”No, no, it’s just An Hao moving to the old house over there. The college entrance exam is coming up, and it’s quieter there. It’s conducive to her focused revision.”

”Really? That’s what I thought,” the Widow Zhang said, coming over cracking sunflower seeds.

She was always idly looking for excitement, poking her nose into anything lively, and keen to check out anything happening with others.

”Do you really believe that, Big Sister Zhang?” An Ping, unable to put up with Bai Xue’s blatant lying, immediately exposed her, ”My grandmother’s old house is so old and dilapidated, do you think my sister would want to live there? No one would willingly go, but there’s no choice, she can’t stay in this house.”

Listening to the tone and the words, Widow Zhang immediately latched onto the information in his words, pressing further, ”What’s going on? Who can’t stand your sister?”

”Big Sister Zhang, do you still need to ask An Ping? Any clear-eyed person can see what’s going on,” Erzhuzi glanced at Bai Xue, ”It couldn’t possibly be her own father mistreating his daughter, could it?”

Bai Yanjiao, upon hearing this, got upset and stood up to defend her mother, ”Erzhuzi, who are you talking about? Who’s mistreating An Hao? Make yourself clear!”

”Isn’t it clear enough? If it wasn’t mistreatment, who would be crazy enough to move into a rundown, broken house?” Erzhuzi didn’t hold back, and retorted sharply.
