Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 128: Chapter 126: A Special Letter

The following afternoon, Qin Jian saw Qin Feng off to the train station.

As she was about to leave, he handed her two sealed letters, ”Read this letter to Mom when you get back. This one, you must deliver it into An Hao’s hands. Make sure you don’t lose it.”

Qin Feng was puzzled as she turned the envelope over in her hands, ”What’s inside?”

”It’s some documentary materials,” Qin Jian glanced at Qin Feng and spoke indifferently.

”What materials?” Qin Feng pressed.

”You don’t need to worry about that. Just remember to deliver it to An Hao,” Qin Jian instructed again, noticing Qin Feng’s curiosity, he added another line, ”If anything goes wrong with this letter while it’s with you, I’ll persuade Mom to marry you off to Song Fei.”

Qin Feng had been thinking about sneaking a peek on her way, but upon hearing Qin Jian’s words, she choked up, rolling her eyes at him after a while, ”You’re threatening me! Are you really my brother? How could you do this to me!”

The corner of Qin Jian’s lips slightly curved upwards, he patted Qin Feng’s shoulder, ”Just remember to deliver it.”

”I got it!” Qin Feng huffed, secured the envelopes, and boarded her vehicle to leave.

************

Back in the village, Qin Feng immediately went to An Shuchao’s home, following Qin Jian’s instructions without a moment’s delay.

It was evening, and the An Family had just finished preparing dinner, getting ready to eat.

She stood in the courtyard and called out, ”Is An Hao here?”

An Hao had just picked up her chopsticks when she heard someone calling her from outside. She hastily put down her bowl and chopsticks and went out.

It was getting dark, and the figures in the yard were shadowy. She could only roughly make out a silhouette, ”You are... Qin Feng?”

”Yeah.” Qin Feng responded, pulling out the letter from her own pocket to hand to An Hao, ”This letter is for you, take good care of it.”

”A letter?” An Hao took the letter, puzzled, asking casually, ”Who sent me this letter?”

”My brother asked me to give it to you,” Qin Feng repeated Qin Jian’s words, ”He said it contains some important materials for you. But he didn’t specify what they are, just that it’s very important!”

An Hao quickly thanked her and insisted Qin Feng stay for dinner.

Qin Feng declined, saying with a grin, ”I just got back from the city, I was so focused on delivering your letter that I haven’t even returned home yet. An Hao, the candied hawthorns you make are really delicious. Next time you have the chance to make some, remember to give me a couple, okay?”

An Hao’s lips curled into a smile, ”Sure, I’ll definitely bring some over when I make them!”

After seeing Qin Feng off, An Hao hurried back into her room and closed the door.

Although she didn’t know what was in the letter, just the thought that it was from Qin Jian made her heart race.

She lit a candle and, with an excited heart, she tore open a corner of the envelope in the candlelight.

To her surprise, the envelope contained several banknotes, fifties, tens, as well as fives and ones. She counted them up to be exactly two hundred yuan.

What does this mean?

An Hao quickly looked through the envelope and found a piece of letter paper. She unfolded it eagerly, finding only a sentence that couldn’t be simpler: Take the money and use it.

Was this money for her?

Did Qin Jian know that she was in need of money right now, living in a very difficult situation?

Holding the letter paper, An Hao’s eyes began to redden slightly.

In her previous life, he had also helped her silently like this, but that life could never be returned to. This life, she would definitely cherish the fate she had with him...

An Hao put the money carefully away, also tucking the letter into the bottom layer of a drawer with great care, then, not even bothering to eat, she began to bury herself in writing him a letter.
