Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 893: Fight Against Feng Shen

On the flying artifact, Yuan Tianquan, Ren Ziwei, Yuan Tiancheng, Ruan Xiaoqi, and Duanmu Luolan gathered together in one room, discussing Feng Yaoʼs knowledge about that thing.

That raised many questions about Feng Yao in their minds. Duanmu Luolan massaged her forehead in thought. ”Who exactly is that woman? She even knows about my ancestor, Duanmu Liufei, even though she has never appeared in public in the last few hundred thousand years.”

”Iʼm not sure about it, but I have a hunch about that woman.” They turned to look at Ruan Xiaoqi, who was propping her chin in thought. ”Iʼve read some books in our library, and they mentioned the ability of ancient cultivators to store their memories and strength before they died. Right before they died, they stored everything into their souls, and they would inherit them again after they were reincarnated. Unfortunately, those books didnʼt mention a method for doing so, and there is no real evidence to prove that reincarnation is real, so this matter is just my guess.”

Ren Ziwei then spoke. ”Even though it is just your guess, it is likely to be real. Otherwise, that woman would not know so many details about us, especially regarding that thing, which only our ancestors know. The only way to find out the truth is to meet her again, but we donʼt have any information about her.”

”I donʼt think we need to look for that woman.” Ren Ziwei turned to her husband, Yuan Tianquan. ”That woman is clearly hiding her true strength, and her true strength may be equal to or even surpass our lord. If my guess is correct, she will come to our realm one day, and we will meet her again then.”

”Letʼs stop talking about that woman, and we should think of a way to protect our children from Leng Xueyan, especially Yuan Tianling.” Yuan Tianchengʼs words made them sigh heavily. ”They failed to get the Earth Flame, and Tianling was in the lava with that kid before. Iʼm sure that old woman will do something to her, and it wonʼt be good for her. Rather than bringing her back to our realm, I think we should send her to another realm.”

Yuan Tianquanʼs expression turned serious. ”Even if we send my daughter to another realm, Leng Xueyan will still manage to find her. If that happens, she will punish her even more severely.”

”I know that, but it could at least buy her some time, right? After all, this universe is very vast, and Leng Xueyan wonʼt be able to find her in a short time.” Yuan Tianquan nodded in agreement to Yuan Tiancheng. ”By the way, I once went to a beast realm in the past, and they were fire-type beasts, so I thought we could hide her there for now.”

”Fire-type beasts?”

Yuan Tiancheng nodded at them. ”They are the Vermilion Bird Race, and I am quite familiar with their current matriarch, Zhu Hong. If you agree to bring Yuan Tianling there, I will contact her now to ask for her permission.”

”Please contact him, brother-in-law.” Ren Ziwei immediately agreed for the sake of her daughterʼs safety.

Yuan Tiancheng immediately contacted Zhu Hong using an interspatial communication device, and the female vermilion bird agreed to his request by asking him to take Yuan Tianling to her Vermilion Realm. ”She agreed, so we will go to her realm before returning to our realm.”

”Thank you, brother-in-law.” Ren Ziwei immediately left them to meet his daughter, followed by Ruan Xiaoqi and Duanmu Luolan.

Outside, Yuan Tianhua looked at Yuan Tianling with suspicion, especially since she kept smiling to herself. ʼHey, did something happen between you and that little fox in the lava?ʼ

ʼHuh?ʼ Yuan Tianling looked up at her in surprise. ʼWhat do you mean by that?ʼ

Yuan Tianhua shook his head at him. ʼWeʼve known each other since we were toddlers, remember? I know you well, and Iʼm sure something has happened between you two.ʼ

ʼHaha.ʼ Yuan Tianling laughed with an embarrassed look. ʼSomething did happen between us, but I did it of my own free will, especially since he was seriously absorbing the Earth Flame at that time.ʼ

ʼAs expected!ʼ Yuan Tianhua then turned to the three women who had approached them. ”What happened, Mother? Why are your expressions so serious?”

”We wonʼt be returning to our realm directly, and we will go to another realm first.” Yuan Tianhua, Yuan Tianling, and the three young men looked at Ruan Xiaoqi in confusion, prompting her to explain the situation. ”We have no other choice now, and we are doing this to buy time so that Leng Xueyan will not be able to find her in a short time.”

As Leng Yueyanʼs disciples, Yuan Tianxie and the others naturally knew their masterʼs character. ”I think thatʼs the best idea, Aunt Xiaoqi. Tianling will suffer if she returns to our realm now, and our master wonʼt leave our realm for such a trivial matter, so she can hide from her for now.”

”But—”

”Donʼt argue, okay?” Ren Ziwei interrupted her daughter. ”Leng Xueyan is a selfish bitch, and she is one of the strongest in our realm. She will not look at our family status, and she will never hesitate to punish you severely, especially since you were in the lava with that kid.”

Yuan Tianling let out a soft sigh and nodded to her mother. ”Okay then, I will follow your plan.”

”Tianxie and the others, you all have to keep this matter under wraps, understand? Yuan Tianxie and the others nodded in agreement to Duanmo Luolan.

Thereafter, their flying artifacts turned around and headed for the Vermilion Realm at full speed.

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei is at the Phoenix Castle with Feng Yao, Feng Tian, and Feng Jiu. The Phoenix Princess informed her parents that she would take them to the Paradise Realm in a few days, asking them to prepare for their departure.

Feng Yaoʼs sudden decision shocked Feng Tian and Feng Jiu, especially since she had previously said she would take them away after Xerethʼs business was finished. ”Regardless of what you do, you will never be able to defeat him, especially if he summons Taotieʼs avatar once again. That beast is one of the strongest in the universe, and no one in the three mortal realms can beat him. However, Zhang Fei has a way to defeat that demon, but he canʼt do it before all the mythical beast races unite.”

”Uniting all the mythical beast races is not an easy matter, especially since their egos are too high.” Feng Tian said with a heavy sigh.

Feng Jiu then added. ”Long Qiang, Dai Hubai, Wang Wugui, Zhu Shanniang, and Huli Xianniang are targeting Zhang Fei now. Their ancestors seem to be helping them hunt him down, so he will face many tough opponents soon. Therefore, I think we should delay our departure, and we will help him deal with them.”

”Haha.” Feng Yao softly laughed. ”Zhu Shanniang and Huli Xianniang may be strong, but they are still women, and no woman stands a chance against him, especially with his abilities as a lust demon. Mother, even a woman like you will fall for him if he uses them on you, let alone those two women.”

Feng Jiu looked at Zhang Fei, who scratched his nose awkwardly. ”So far, there are only two women who can withstand my lust demon ability, and one of them is Feng Yao. Therefore, I am not worried about Zhu Shanniang or Huli Xianniang, and I will face them by myself if they attack me first. Long Qiang, Wang Wugui, and their two beast races are strong, but Iʼm not too afraid of them. I have Feng Yichen by my side, and she alone can eliminate them. Moreover, I still have another trick, and that will help me to surpass them, so you donʼt have to worry about my safety.”

”Please show it to us.”

One of Zhang Feiʼs clones sent Feng Yichen, who was staying in the pavilion, into the beast space. He then activated the Soul Connect III to borrow the power of the Dark Phoenix. In that instant, his strength became equal to a cultivator at the 5-Moon Divine Ascension Realm, especially since the feature allowed him to borrow her full strength.

The Phoenix Emperor and Empress were shocked as soon as they sensed Zhang Feiʼs current strength.

”Incredible!” Feng Tian shouted in shock. ”I donʼt know how you managed to do that, but your strength is truly extraordinary! This way, you donʼt have to be afraid of them, and you should be able to force them to submit to you.”

”Thatʼs right.” Zhang Fei nodded at her. ”Honestly, I can still increase my strength further, but I donʼt know whether it will be on par with Xerethʼs strength or not.”

”How did you do it?” Zhang Fei enveloped the three of them with his aura, and they disappeared from the room.

.

The Beast Space stretched endlessly, filled with towering ancient trees and vast open fields. Qi flows through the land like a gentle breeze, nourishing the beasts that live within. In the distance, a tall mountain pierced the clouds, its peak hidden by mist. Clear rivers spread throughout the area, and rare plants grew abundantly on the riverbanks.

On a large tree branch, they saw Lei Qiu, the thunderbird, resting peacefully. Lan Zhen, the frost lynx, lay relaxed on the riverbank. Hi Ma, the hippocampus, was swimming in the river as usual.

In the distance, Jiu Yuan, the golden monkey, focused on her cultivation. The two tigresses, Hu Yi and Hu Er, circled around her and tried to disturb her. Boitata was alone on the mountain, not paying attention to the other beasts.

Meanwhile, Feng Yichen stood leaning against a tree, with her eyes closed and her arms crossed over her chest.

”Wow!” Feng Jiu exclaimed as she attempted to absorb Qi within the Beast Space. ”The Qi here is truly pure without a single speck of impurity.”

Feng Tian then added. ”Somehow I feel that the flow of time inside here is different from outside.”

”Your feeling is not wrong, Emperor Feng.” Zhang Fei replied with a nod. ”The flow of time in this place is two times faster than in the outside world, allowing all my contract beasts to recover themselves and cultivate faster. This beast space also has another function, which is directly connected to me.”

Feng Tian and Feng Jiu turned to Zhang Fei. ”Another function?”

”I can borrow the power of all the beasts living here at the same time.” Zhang Feiʼs answer caused their jaws to drop. ”The more powerful beasts that live here, the greater the power I can borrow. Thus, I have never been afraid of Long Qiang and the others, but that doesnʼt mean I will blatantly look for trouble with them, especially in a crisis situation like now. However, I will not remain silent if they dare to attack me, and I will destroy them if they dare to do so.”

Feng Jiu nodded in understanding. ”I heard that you already got Feng Qingmeng and Zhu Lingyao, and they are quite strong. Even though they are still not as strong as Feng Yichen, they can still help you fight them. Additionally, you can ask for help from our Phoenix Clan members, including Feng Xueying.”

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei nodded at her. ”You two donʼt need to think about the situation in the upper realms and go to the Paradise Realm with Feng Yao, and we will meet again in the future.”

”Since you have such an awesome trick, I wonʼt worry about the upper realms anymore.” Feng Jiu then took out her phoenix token and gave it to Zhang Fei. ”This token is to open the most sacred place in our realm, but I checked that place a month ago, and I didnʼt manage to find the Divine Phoenix Totem there. Since you are sure that the totem is in our realm, you can use it to check that place.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei immediately received the token and observed it. ”What place is that?”

”It is a resting place for our phoenix race.” Feng Yao answered him. ”I also often entered that place in the past, but I never saw the existence of the totem there. If you like, you can check it, but you must be prepared to face Feng Shen.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding. ”Letʼs go out; weʼll check out the place. If Feng Shen attacks me, Iʼll beat him out of his shit.”

.

.

.

They were already standing in front of the sacred place of the Phoenix Clan, and Feng Shen immediately appeared before them as they expected. ”Why did you three bring this kid here? He may have close ties with our Phoenix Clan, but he is not worthy of setting foot on our sacred ground.”

Feng Jiu and Feng Tian wanted to say something to Feng Shen, but Feng Yao stopped them. Instead, she asked Zhang Fei to handle the old phoenix by herself. ”After you settle the business in this realm, you should go see Tianguo and subdue him.”

”I had planned that.” Zhang Fei was about to put the token in the wall hole when the old phoenix grabbed his shoulder. He briefly frowned and slapped the old phoenixʼs hand away. ”Old man, Iʼm already annoyed with your attitude! I already told you that the Divine Phoenix Totem is not in my hands or Feng Yichenʼs, but you didnʼt believe me and turned against me instead. If you believe your strength is superior, I will fight you now, and I will instill in your mind not to judge a book by its cover.”

”How dare you, brat!” Feng Shen immediately unleashed his strength, and he punched his fist toward Zhang Fei with the intention of killing him.

However, Zhang Fei immediately activated the Soul Connect III, borrowed Feng Yichenʼs full strength, and teleported behind Feng Shen.

Then, Zhang Fei grabbed Feng Shenʼs right shoulder, and he dislocated it directly.

*Crack... Crack...*

”Arghh!” Feng Shen flew away from him, but Zhang Fei teleported right in front of him. He grabbed his left arm and dislocated it as well, causing both his arms to dangle down. ”Arghh!”

Afterwards, Zhang Fei powerfully kicked Feng Shenʼs chest, causing him to roll in the air several times before slamming onto the ground at quite a distance.

*Bam*

*Splurt*

Feng Shen spat out quite a lot of blood from his mouth, especially since Zhang Feiʼs kick was simply too strong even for a beast at his level. ”Cough... Cough...”

*Swoosh*

Feng Xueying instantly appeared above them as soon as she sensed their fight. She looked at Zhang Fei in shock, especially after she sensed his current strength. ʼThis kid can borrow the strength of other beasts, huh? If Iʼm not mistaken, he should have borrowed Feng Yichenʼs strength, or he wouldnʼt have been able to beat Old Zhen like this.ʼ

ʼFuck! How could a snotty brat like him hurt me like this?ʼ Feng Shen forcibly reconnected his shoulders, took a few pills, and swallowed them directly.

Zhang Fei briefly glanced at Feng Xueying, but the ice phoenix shook her head at him, signaling to him that she would not interfere in their affairs.

Zhang Fei then floated in front of Feng Shen, with the moonlit whisper sword in his hand. He activated his fire and ice elements at once, pointing his sword at him. ”I respect you as a senior, but you disrespect me and try to suppress me. Since you showed such an attitude towards me, you have lost my respect, and I will beat you to a pulp today.”

*Boom*

”Bastard!” Feng Shen shouted as he unleashed his full strength. ”I will kill you today!”

Feng Shen immediately took out his flame sword and flew towards him, but Zhang Fei effortlessly parried it with his. Despite the old phoenixʼs high cultivation, he had never trained in sixteen times heavier gravity. Besides, he trained in such heavy gravity by carrying a 5000-pound hammer on his back, which made the old phoenixʼs speed pale in comparison to his.

Furthermore, Zhang Fei himself was borrowing Feng Yichenʼs full strength, which made his own strength equal to Feng Shenʼs. ”Is this all you have? Itʼs my turn to attack.”
