Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 853: Zhang Linʼs Transformation

”Are you fucking kidding me? How are you going to help your wife become a demonic beast like me?”

Zhang Fei shook his head at Serpentera. ”I canʼt explain to you in detail, and I canʼt do it in this place. Please give me some of your body parts, such as your skin, nails, hair, and some others. Once Linʼer becomes a demonic beast, I will bring her back here, and my words will be proven. She also carries the water dragon bloodline, so if you are willing to assist her, you will have an exceptional successor.”

”If you didnʼt mention it, I wouldnʼt have noticed it. I can indeed sense the dragon aura from this little girl, so itʼs true that she has the dragon bloodline.” Serpenteraʼs body suddenly glowed before shrinking and turning into a human.

Serpenteraʼs human form was extremely tall, around 7ʼ1” (2.16 m), with skin as pale as the deep ocean, giving off a distant and oppressive impression. His long, flowing hair, the color of ink in the starlit depths, trailed behind him, floating unnaturally beneath the water. His eyes were pitch black, without sclera or irises.

He wore a robe woven from deep-sea silk, a coat of translucent, scale-like fabric that shimmered like wet obsidian. Coral ornaments circled his shoulders and wrists, and a dark jade pendant—resembling a screaming face—hung on his chest.

According to Zhang Feiʼs request, Serpentera cut off a little of his hair, nails, skin, and some others. ”Before you turn your wife into my successor, I must warn you that your actions will bring disaster to her, especially if you take her away to the Paradise Realm in the future. My late master and I have too many enemies there, and I am the only one of my kin left. If they find out that she is my successor, they will hunt her down and forcibly contract her. Moreover, our main enemy is not just anyone; that guy is the strongest demonic beast.”

”The Primordial Nihility Beast, right?” Serpentera was momentarily shocked to hear that name from Zhang Feiʼs mouth. ”I canʼt reveal the truth because of my promise to someone, but I know that primordial beast is after you. He sent Taotie to hunt you and your late master because he couldnʼt come down himself, and he also wanted to capture the Ancient Devourer Demon Beast that your late master hid in my home realm.”

Serpentera released a heavy sigh. ”I donʼt know how you know all that, but youʼre right about everything. The Primordial Nihility Beast is the strongest demonic beast, and his main opponent is the Primordial Genesis Beast. The war between the two primordial beasts started after they were born and became strong, but another beast managed to stop their war. Not all beasts wanted the war, be they the demonic beasts or the righteous beasts. We could not oppose them, especially since their influence was absolute. The war may indeed be over now, but it will never truly end, and it will start again someday in the future.”

”I know.” Zhang Fei remembered his conversation with the will of the universe. ”The Ten-Tailed Fox stopped their war, but I donʼt understand how he could do that, especially since the two primordial beasts should be stronger than him. The only way to completely end the war is to kill them both, which is obviously impossible given their overwhelming power.”

”To tell you the truth, many demonic and righteous beasts have tried to stop the war between them. Unfortunately, they only threw their lives away in vain, including my kin and the Ancient Devourer Demon Beast race, which led to the near extinction of our races.” Serpentera then handed over all his body parts and origin bloodline to Zhang Fei. ”You donʼt need to think about all those things for now, especially since your abilities are still far from sufficient to participate in all of them. You can go now and turn your wife into my successor, and I will wait here to see the results.”

After he informed Balena of this, Zhang Fei immediately brought Zhang Lin back to the training space, leaving Serpentera dumbfounded.

”That kid obviously doesnʼt have the void element, but he can create such a space. Moreover, no one in the three mortal realms knows about the two primordial beasts, yet he knows about them, and he also knows about many other things.” Serpentera returned to his demonic beast form and curled up in the throne room, but he then used his Qi to collect all the treasures in the Sunken Empire there. ”Let me wait for the results.”

After they arrived at the pavilion, Zhang Fei immediately took out the science capsule with Zhang Lin lying inside. He immediately inserted every part of Serpenteraʼs body into the ten holes, followed by his origin bloodline. ʼStart the process now, Mei.ʼ

[Yes, Master.]

”Will Linʼer experience any significant changes after becoming a demonic beast, Feiʼer?” Qing Yi posed this question as she observed her second daughter inside the capsule.

Zhang Fei nodded at her. ”Just like Ru Xue, Linʼer will experience physical changes, but Iʼm sure her changes wonʼt be too significant, and only a few parts of her will change. I donʼt think itʼs a big deal, especially since she can use the transformation technique to return to her human form.”

”Yeah, youʼre right.” Qing Yi replied with a slight nod.

Xereth, who was on his way to Feng Yichenʼs place, was annoyed after listening to Mo Xieshenʼs message.

”I didnʼt expect that brat and the damn sword to be in the upper realms, and he seemed to have a certain goal in the Blue Water Realm. Could it be that he intends to capture the Abyssal Leviathan Demon Beast? How strong is he really? How could he kill that idiot?” Xereth then looked at a certain distance. ”The realm should be in that area, and I can get there in three days. However, Zichen is in critical condition, and it would be a loss for me if he died, so I have to save him first. I should go to his place first, and Iʼll take her to that realm after she recovers. I hope that brat is still in that realm when I arrive; I will kill him and take the sword from him.”

After that, Xereth accelerated his speed because Feng Yichenʼs location was quite far from his current location, and he was also eager to get the demon extermination sword.

Balena is enjoying her time with her family, but she still canʼt believe that her parents decided to have two other children after she disappeared. However, she is pleased that they havenʼt forgotten about her, even though she disappeared for so long.

”Whereʼs Zhang Fei? Why isnʼt he here yet?” Druka asked her daughter.

Since she couldnʼt possibly tell her parents about the training space and such, Balena told them that Zhang Fei was doing something in the Sunken Empireʼs ruins.

Nymor then asked. ”How did Zhang Fei find the entrance to that place? For thousands of years, we have been looking for the entrance, but we have never managed to find it.”

”Father, Zhang Fei is not an ordinary demon, but he is a demon cultivator. In fact, I have become a demon cultivator like him, and he taught me to become one.” Balenaʼs revelation shocks Nymor and Druka. ”He is no ordinary cultivator, and it is not difficult for him to find the entrance. However, you two should not think about going to that place, especially since there is a powerful demon beast living there. If you go there, it will kill all of you outright.”

”What kind of demon beast are you referring to?”

”An ancient demon beast, the Abyssal Leviathan Demon.” Nymor and Druka gasped in shock when Balena said that. ”The demon beast is a powerful cultivator who has lived more than a million years, and its strength is much higher than Zhang Feiʼs. However, I believe he will be fine because he is not a reckless person, and he will immediately run away if he is in danger.”

”How can that beast live there?”

”A deceased powerful demon cultivator deliberately placed the demon beast there to protect it, especially since the demons who destroyed the old empire were hunting it.” Balenaʼs parents put on a serious look after she said that. ”His name was Xereth, and he had disappeared for a long time. However, he has reappeared now, and he has started causing trouble in various realms. What exactly happened in this realm? Could you please share when those two demons began to have control over you? What about the new empire?”

Nymor immediately explained to his daughter about the arrival of the two demons in their realm, which occurred several years after Balenaʼs disappearance. ”Since then, our kingdom no longer exists, and we have become their slaves. If you and Zhang Fei didnʼt come here, we would probably be their slaves for the rest of our lives.”

”I see.” Balena nodded in understanding. ”Even though I regret the destruction of our kingdom, I think it is much better because you no longer have to worry about the fate of this realm, and you can focus on your personal lives.”

”Are you going to stay here?”

Balena answered her mother with a shake of her head. ”Zhang Fei is my future husband, so I will stay by his side, and I will follow him wherever he goes. For now, we just need to wait for him to come back, and I will talk to him about all of you.”

”All right, letʼs wait for him.”

At the same time, Mei informed Zhang Fei that Zhang Linʼs transformation process was complete. He immediately opened the capsule cover to check the changes in his little sister, and her appearance had become quite similar to Serpenteraʼs appearance.

Zhang Linʼs black hair turned blacker, like ink. However, her eyes were different from Serpenteraʼs pitch-black eyes, especially since her eyes turned blackish blue with vertical pupils like a dragonʼs eyes, making her gaze quite intimidating. ʼScan her, May.ʼ

ʼAs expected, her physique transformed into a dragon serpent.ʼ Zhang Fei then helped Zhang Lin out of the capsule. ”Are you satisfied with the results?”

Zhang Lin stretched out both hands and opened her palms. The darkness element appears on her left palm, and the water element appears on her right palm. ”My water element is significantly stronger, but my darkness element is still in the initial stage. Moreover, I gained some of Serpenteraʼs abilities; his abilities are important for my mastery of the water element, so Iʼm satisfied.”

”Linʼer, return to your human form; your appearance is very scary, especially your eyes.” Qing Yi suddenly spoke.

Hearing that, Zhang Lin took a mirror to see her new appearance, and she was a little surprised after seeing her eyes. ”Hehe! My new appearance is scary, but I like my new eyes. By the way, letʼs meet Serpentera again, Big Brother.”

.

.

.

Serpentera immediately returned to his human form as soon as the two appeared in front of him, and he nodded in satisfaction after observing Zhang Linʼs changes. ”Show me your beast form, little girl.”

”Sure.”

Zhang Linʼs demonic beast form is as enormous as Serpenteraʼs demonic beast form. Her body is long and serpentine like a sea serpent, yet muscular and broad like a dragon. Her scales are midnight black with a subtle shimmer of deep blues. Her head is long and narrow with an angular structure. Her maw is filled with rows of sharp teeth.

Zhang Linʼs blackish-blue eyes are surrounded by rings of pale bioluminescence. Her horns are not similar to dragon horns at all, but they are fan-shaped and fringed. Unlike most dragons, her wings are large, webbed fins, like a manta ray. Her tail is long like a whip, with a barbed tip.

Zhang Linʼs demonic beast form left Serpentera stunned for some time. ”What the hell is this? Why is her beast form different from mine?”

”Linʼer is an Abyssal Leviathan Dragon.” Serpentera looked at Zhang Fei in shock. ”Honestly, I donʼt know how she became like this, but her water dragon bloodline affected her transformation. As a result, she became a new race, a mix between your race and the water dragon race.”

Serpentera nodded in understanding. ”Since this little girl is a mix of my race and the water dragon race, it means she is the only one of her kin in this universe. If the Primordial Nihility Beast finds out about her existence, he will send his subordinates to hunt her down, and Taotie is usually the one who carries out that task. Therefore, you have to protect her better, or they will catch her and devour her.”

”Linʼer is my little sister and wife; I will definitely protect her with all my strength.” Zhang Fei then informed Serpentera. ”Taotie assigned Xereth to hunt you down, and he already knows of your presence in this realm. I have already eliminated his two subordinates, so he will probably come here himself. His arrival will bring disaster to this realm, so I think you should move out.”

”You donʼt have to worry about me, especially since that demon is not my opponent. As long as Taotie or the others donʼt descend here, I can still defeat anyone who comes to hunt me down.” Serpentera then floated in front of Zhang Lin and touched his forehead, imparting several techniques to him. ”Though our races differ, you are my heir because my blood runs in you, and you must master those techniques. Once you master them, you will be the ruler of the sea; no humans or beasts will be able to match you in the water.”

Zhang Lin nodded at him. ”Thank you, Grandpa Serpentera.”

Sepenteraʼs lips twitched because Zhang Lin called him as such, but he was pleased in his heart, especially since he was the last of his kin. ”Are you going to use the water elemental seed now? If you use it yourself, your chances of getting the water element are slim. However, you are fortunate because I am an ancient aquatic demon beast, and I can help you get the element.”

”Please help me to get the water element.”

Serpentera then looked at the pile of treasures in that place. ”Before we start, you should keep them all, especially since they will be useful for you and your wives.”

Zhang Fei unhesitatingly stored all the treasure into the systemʼs inventory, and he sat down immediately after. He then swallowed the low-level water elemental seed, triggering several notifications.

[Ding]

[Water elemental seed was detected.]

[The process of absorbing the water elemental seed begins.]

[The chance for the host to obtain the water element is 20%.]

Serpentera flicked his finger and shot his Qi toward Zhang Fei, which immediately entered his body through his chest.

[The chance for the host to obtain the water element has increased to 100%.]

The last notification made Zhang Fei smile in satisfaction, and Serpentera immediately spoke to Zhang Lin. ”Now, return to your human form and form your darkness core first. After that, you can start studying the water and darkness elemental laws, and I will guide you to learn both.”

Zhang Lin immediately returned to her human form, sat on Zhang Feiʼs side, and tried to form her darkness core.
