Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 854: Water Element, Core, And Law

”Master.” Zhang Fei [5], who was contemplating matters related to Chao Mojie, turned to Tian Jianxia. ”I received information that my two ancestors moved our race to another realm, but the two of them did not stay with them, and they went to another realm again.”

”Oh?” Zhang Fei [1] was surprised to hear that. ”Which realm does your race live in now? Do they know the destination of Tian Baitian and Tian Baixing?”

Tian Jianxia informed him directly. ”The Whitebone Beast Realm is where they went, but I donʼt know its exact location. As for our ancestorsʼ destination, no one knows, especially since the two of them didnʼt tell anyone.”

Since Tian Baitian and Tian Baixing decided to move their race members, Zhang Fei [1] was certain that Xereth had already attacked their realm, but he believed he would not stay in the Heavenly Moon Realm for too long. Moreover, he used Mo Xieshen to inform the demon of his presence in the upper realms, and he would probably come after him soon.

”Master, my brother and his group canceled their trip to the middle realms, and they are heading to the Whitebone Beast Realm now.” Tian Jianxiaʼs information disappointed Zhang Fei [1], especially since he wanted to capture those heavenly foxes. ”Our ancestors were certain that Xereth would target our raceʼs members, so they asked them to return.”

Zhang Fei [1] contacted Tian Jiyuan, who was staying in the Sky Jade Realm. Unfortunately, the male heavenly fox also did not know the exact location of the Whitebone Beast Realm, but he ordered him to seek information from the other heavenly fox races.

Zhang Fei [1] then looked at Chao Mojie again, and he decided to draw his soul out of his body before giving him the demon slave mark. If the demon was in his prime condition, he wouldnʼt have been able to do that. However, the demon extermination sword had absorbed a lot of his demon power, which weakened him. ”Contact Xereth now, and I want to know his next destination.”

Chao Mojie helplessly nodded and contacted his lord directly. He told Xereth about the situation in the Blue Water Realm earlier, and he also told him that Mo Xieshen died at the hands of Zhang Fei [1].

Xereth asked how he managed to escape, and Chao Mojie told him that he was searching for the entrance to the Sunken Empire, but Mo Xieshen warned him about Zhang Fei [1] and the demon extermination sword, forcing him to escape straight away.

Xereth ordered Chao Mojie to wait for him at his current location, and he would meet him after picking up Feng Yichen.

After that, Chao Mojie informed Zhang Fei [1] that Xereth was going to Feng Yichenʼs location, causing him to frown.

Although he didnʼt want to deal with Xereth yet, Zhang Fei [1] thought it was a good opportunity to do something to the demon, especially since his fourth clone was heading to Feng Yichenʼs location together with Feng Yao.

Since the daily quests were finished, Zhang Fei [1] decided to go into the training space. He asked Tian Jianxia and Tian Gongzhu to train together with Murong Qianying and Fei Qinyuan, and he himself went to the pavilion to help all his partners.

”Can you speed up this flying artifact?” Zhang Fei [4] asked Feng Yao. ”We must reach that realm before Xereth, and I will use Feng Yichen to monitor him.”

”We donʼt need to rush, especially since weʼre already close to Feng Yichenʼs location, and weʼll arrive there at midnight. If your information is correct that Xereth previously attacked the Heavenly Moon Realm, he wonʼt arrive at that realm before us, so we still have time to capture that dark phoenix.” Feng Yao then observed Zhang Fei [4]. ”You have recently obtained the ice element, but you are in the process of obtaining the water element now.”

Zhang Fei [4] rubbed his nose and told Feng Yao about Serpentera. ”I think Iʼm lucky because that old demon is not hostile to me, and he helped me obtain the water element. Moreover, he passed his bloodline to my little sister, turning Linʼer into the Abyssal Leviathan Dragon.”

”Your luck keeps coming and going.” Feng Yao then warned him. ”Linʼer is the only Abyssal Leviathan Dragon in this universe, so you must protect her, especially when you go to the Paradise Realm.”

Zhang Fei [4] nodded, then asked. ”Hey, did you and Huo Ling come from the realm beyond the Paradise Realm?”

[Master, how did this kid know about that?] Huo Ling asked in shock.

Feng Yao herself was shocked by Zhang Fei [4]ʼs question, but she didnʼt show it in her expression. ”Did the will of the universe tell you that?”

”Not really.” Zhang Fei [4] shook his head in reply. ”I asked the will of the universe about it, but it didnʼt give me an answer. However, I am not stupid, and its silence convinced me that the realm beyond the Paradise Realm does exist. Your response further confirmed my suspicion, so I hope you can tell me the truth.”

”It does exist.”

”As expected.”

Feng Yao let out a soft sigh. ”Actually, the realm cannot be said to be beyond the Paradise Realm, and the two are connected to each other. However, a powerful barrier prevents cultivators from the Paradise Realm from going there, especially since there is only destruction there.”

”Destruction?”

”Yes.” Feng Yao nodded at him. ”There are no living creatures in that realm now, mainly because it was completely destroyed, including the air. The elemental laws that protected it have also disappeared, and the elements there have become unstable as a result, making it uninhabitable.”

Zhang Fei [4] was shocked to hear that, but he remembered the images he saw in the final room in the Era of the Beginning. ”I saw many things when I first arrived in that mysterious place, and one of the paintings there showed the destruction of that realm, which was the work of all the living races. However, I previously thought that it had been destroyed long ago, so I didnʼt expect that it still existed to this day. Did you and Huo Ling really come from that realm?”

”You will know our true identities after you go to the Paradise Realm.” Feng Yao then pointed at his chest. ”If you canʼt wait, improve your cultivation quickly and go there early.”

Zhang Fei [4] smiled bitterly, especially since Feng Yao always kept things hidden from him. ”I will summon my three partners here, and I will help them increase their cultivation.”

”Sure.”

Zhang Fei [4] then went to one of the rooms in the flying artifact before summoning Ilsath, Orith, and Zilvora.

Feng Yao looked at the room and muttered. ”After today, he will have six elements, and the number of his elements will continue to increase in the future.”

In the Sunken Empire, Zhang Feiʼs body was covered in a water bubble, and several whirlpools danced around him.

[Ding]

[The host obtained the water element.]

[The hostʼs water element has reached the lower stage.]

In a few minutes, a water vortex emerged from the ocean and soared high into the air, shocking all the aquatic demons from the Blue Water Realm. After all, none of them had ever managed to enter the Sunken Empire, but an unusual phenomenon emerged from that place.

Those aquatic demons immediately moved towards that place again, especially the leaders of each race, except for Balenaʼs parents. Unfortunately, they still couldnʼt detect the presence of the concealment formation, even though it was not far from their sight, preventing them from entering the place.

After a while, the water vortex gradually shrank and formed a translucent blue ball, which became clearer with each passing second. Soon, it was completely formed, and it quickly entered the ocean before entering Zhang Feiʼs body.

[Ding]

[The host successfully formed the peak grade water element core.]

Zhang Fei didnʼt stop, and he immediately learned the water elemental law, especially after Serpentera shared the method with him.

ʼThis kid succeeded in forming his water core in one try— and a perfect one.ʼ Serpentera then looked at Zhang Lin, who had just succeeded in forming her darkness core, but it was only upper rank. ʼThis little girl is not bad, but her talent is still below that of her husband.ʼ

Just like her brother, Zhang Lin started to study the darkness law, but she had no difficulty in learning it, especially since Zhang Fei had taught her for a long time. After she mastered it, she began to study the water elemental law, and Serpentera guided her by speaking into her mind directly.

Once again, the day changed along with the appearance of the three notifications. Zhang Fei stretched out both hands, and the seawater around him moved in response to his gestures.

[Ding]

[Congratulations! The host has mastered the initial stage of the water elemental law.]

After the notification appeared, Zhang Fei immediately opened his eyes and pulled back his hand, causing the water around them to calm down again.

”Your speed in forming your core and mastering the elemental laws is truly impressive.” Serpentera spoke.

Zhang Fei let out a soft sigh before answering her. ”I have formed several elemental cores and mastered several elemental laws, and I can say that the water element is much easier than the other elements, so it is not difficult for me to do it.”

”How many elements do you actually have?” Zhang Fei used his water element and created an air bubble around him before using all six elements simultaneously, shocking Serpentera. ”What a freak! You were born and raised in the three mortal realms, but you have six elements. Moreover, almost all of your elements are in conflict with each other, such as light against darkness, fire against water and ice, and only your wind element does not conflict with them.”

”Hehe.” Zhang Fei chuckled. ”I originally only had the elements of light, darkness, and fire. However, the wind fairy helped me obtain the wind element, the ice phoenix helped me obtain the ice element, and you helped me obtain the water element. My next target is the lightning element, and I have found the location of its seed. However, the lightning in that place is still too strong for me, so I will wait until my cultivation breaks through to the Seven Divine Realms.”

”If you manage to obtain the lightning element, your attacks will become even more deadly, especially if you combine it with your water element.” Serpentera suddenly raised her eyebrows, especially since Zhang Fei brought his fire and ice elements together. ”Hey, kid, you—”

”Hahaha.” Zhang Fei laughed as the Hellflame Ice Lotus appeared on his palm. ”Iʼve combined these two elements several times, and Iʼve fully mastered it.”

”What a crazy technique!” Serpentera shouted. ”If the cultivators in the Paradise Realm see this lotus technique of yours, many of them will scramble to recruit you, but many of them will also try to kill you. Fire and ice are like oil and water, and the two can never be combined, yet you manage to combine them and form a new technique.”

Zhang Fei dispelled the lotus and thought of something. His wind element appears in his left hand, and his water element in his right hand. ”What will happen if I combine these two elements?”

”The wind element is not always related to speed, and it also has destructive power that is no less powerful than lightning or fire elements. Moreover, you can use the wind element for area attacks, and it can also serve as a shield.” Zhang Fei nodded in agreement with Serpentera. ”The water element can be said to be one of the softest elements, just like the light element. However, when used correctly, it can be lethal, capable of destroying hundreds or even thousands of warships in a single swipe. By the way, Iʼve taught my water techniques to your wife, so you can learn them from her.”

”Thank you.” Zhang Fei then asked him. ”Do you have a way to return to the Paradise Realm?”

Serpentera thought for a moment before nodding. ”Instead of thinking about that, you should focus on reaching the Seven Divine Realms first. Once you reach that stage, you can come to me again, and we will discuss your chances to pass through that passage at that time.”

”Is the passage really that difficult to pass?”

”Use all your strengthening techniques.”

Zhang Fei was confused by that, but he immediately did as Serpentra wished. However, the ancient demon beast immediately struck his abdomen, causing him to roll back several times.

After he stabilized himself, Zhang Fei immediately shouted. ”Fuck! You should have told me first if you wanted to attack me.”

”Hahaha!” Serpentera laughed in satisfaction at Zhang Feiʼs reaction. ”Your body is strong enough for a cultivator from the three mortal realms, but itʼs not enough to face the pressure in the passage, so you will never be able to get through it with your current body strength.”

Zhang Fei released a heavy sigh. ”All right then, I will improve my cultivation and body cultivation first, and I will see you again when I feel ready.”

”Yeah.”

Sometime later, Zhang Lin had successfully studied the water elemental law, and Zhang Fei immediately sent her back to the training space before leaving the Sunken Empire.

Serpentera instantly returned to his beast form and curled up. ”Xereth, huh? Letʼs see if he dares to come to this realm, and Iʼll eat him alive if he does come here.”

Zhang Fei had arrived at the Balena family residence and found her speaking with her family. She immediately asked him about her familyʼs chances of becoming demon cultivators like her.

[Master, Balenaʼs parents have cultivation veins, but her two siblings do not.] Mei informed Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei then told this to Balena, making her a little disappointed. ”Can you do something for them like you did for Huang Rong and the others?”

”I canʼt.” Zhang Fei shook his head in reply. ”They are demon beasts from birth, so we canʼt use the same method for them. The only way for them to become demon cultivators is to implant other peopleʼs cultivation veins into their bodies, but the chances of finding one that suits their bodies are too slim.”

Nymor immediately said to his daughter. ”All right, you donʼt need to think about us. Moreover, we enjoy our lives more in this realm, and we want to spend the rest of our lives here.”

”But—”

”Your father is right.” Druka also spoke to her. ”We are too old now, so we want to enjoy our old age. Moreover, we donʼt have the passion to be demon cultivators in the first place, so you donʼt need to think about that. Honestly, I want you to stay here with us, but your path is different from ours now. You have also chosen Zhang Fei as your future husband, so you can go with him to explore this universe, and we will always wait for you to come back here.”

Balena inwardly sighed and asked Zhang Fei. ”Can I stay in this realm for a while?”

”Sure.” Zhang Fei immediately agreed. ”You guys have been separated for hundreds of years, so you can stay with them for now. However, I will return to our place to stabilize my cultivation, especially since I want to break through to the 4-Star Heaven Realm as soon as possible.”

After he spent some time with Balenaʼs family, Zhang Fei immediately returned to the pavilion in the training space, and he helped Zhang Lin to increase her demon power while stabilizing his cultivation.

Meanwhile, Feng Yaoʼs flying artifact had already approached a realm, and she released a small fire phoenix, which immediately flew into it. She then spoke to Zhang Fei [4]. ”It will lead us to Feng Yichen.”
