Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 866: Golden Dragonʼs Avatar

Long Aotian and all the members of the Dragon Clan dripped their dragon blood essence into the small golden vessel, and they also channeled their dragon Qi into it.

The small golden vessel flashed a few times before floating above the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon statue, and it landed directly above the statueʼs head. A while later, a golden pillar shot out from the statue toward the sky, followed by a dragon roar full of dignity and authority.

*Roar*

The dragonʼs roar echoed throughout all corners of that realm, and the cultivators from the lower land could hear it, causing panic to sweep across the entire Sky Dragon Realm.

After hearing the dragonʼs roar, the leaders of the other mythical beast races left their respective places, but they couldnʼt locate the source, and they flew around the tall mountain in search of it.

In the inner hall of the shrine, the avatar of the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon shot out from the statue, and its giant figure filled the entire room. Its shimmering golden scales glow like molten sunlight. Its body exuded a divine grace, casting a warm, golden light.

”Hmm?” The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar looked at the people with its golden eyes. ”Why did you summon my avatar? I donʼt feel any danger in this realm, and the Calamity Demon Dragon is still sleeping in my seal beneath this mountain.”

Zhang Fei [5] was shocked to hear that. ʼSo my guess was right, huh? The black dragon is indeed still alive, especially since I didnʼt see its statue in the second room of the Era of the Beginning. However, I didnʼt expect that it was a Calamity Demon Dragon, and it was sealed in this realm. Since the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon couldnʼt kill it, their strength should be equal.ʼ

”Hmm?” The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar suddenly turned toward Zhang Fei [5] and snorted, knocking him from his original position. ”You can come out; I know youʼre using invisibility, little fox.”

Long Aotian and the others were shocked to hear that, and they were even more shocked when Zhang Fei [5] appeared on his little fox. Long Qichao wanted to move to capture him, but the Five-Clawed Golden Dragonʼs avatar stopped him.

”Donʼt do anything to it.” The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar used its aura and lifted Zhang Fei [5] before him. ”How can a young fox like you enter my shrine? Iʼve seen all kinds of foxes, but Iʼve never seen your kind before.”

Zhang Fei [5] was relieved that the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar couldnʼt see through his disguise. Since he was disguised as a little fox, he didnʼt reply to the dragon and put on a scared look instead.

”No need to be afraid of me; I wonʼt hurt you.” The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar turned to Long Aotian and the others again. ”What is your reason for summoning my avatar? I have already told your ancestors not to summon me as long as the Calamity Demon Dragon is still trapped in my seal.”

Long Aotian cupped his hands and lowered his head slightly. ”Ancestor, a heavenly fox has humiliated our Dragon Clan, and the Phoenix Clan is protecting him. I summoned your avatar to ask for your blessing to wage a war against them, and I hope you can lend a little of your strength to us so that we can win this war.”

”Hmm?” The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar narrowed its eyes at Long Aotian. ”You deserve to be humiliated by summoning my avatar just for a trivial matter.”

Unlike Long Aotian and the others who froze after they heard that, Zhang Fei [5] was laughing out loud in his heart. They thought of asking their ancestors for help in fighting the Phoenix Clan, but the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar insulted them instead.

Long Aotian explained directly. ”Ancestor, this may be a trivial matter to you, but the current Phoenix Clan is much stronger than us. Several thousand years ago, they managed to defeat the main Dragon Clan, and our ancestors still havenʼt recovered to this day. We canʼt afford to lose to them again, so I was forced to summon your avatar, and I hope you are willing to help us repay the humiliation they gave us in the past.”

”If all of you canʼt defeat the Phoenix Clan with your own strength, you guys donʼt deserve to be members of my Dragon Clan.” Long Aotian wanted to refute, but the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar directly suppressed them, forcing them to kneel. ”We dragons are dignified beasts, and we never beg anyone, including our kin. In my eyes, you guys are cowardly dragons, and I will cripple your cultivation if you insist on asking for my help to take care of your trivial matters. Leave now before my patience runs out, and never return as long as the Calamity Demon Dragon is not free from my seal.”

ʼCrap! The ancestor is furious!ʼ Long Aotian and the others hurriedly left the place after the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar withdrew its aura.

”Sigh! I have long ascended from the three mortal realms, and my descendants in the three mortal realms have become losers. They canʼt even settle a trivial matter by themselves, embarrassing my Dragon Clan.” The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon turned to Zhang Fei [5]. ”Now tell me who you really are.”

Zhang Fei [5] blinked his eyes repeatedly, pretending not to understand the meaning behind the question from the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar.

”Kid, I have lived for millions of years, and there is no beast I have not seen. I do not know how you disguised yourself, but I know your appearance is not your true form, and I suspect that you are the one who is looking for trouble with those foolish descendants of mine.”

ʼTch! An old creature like this guy is indeed difficult to deceive, but this dragon is not as bad as I imagined.ʼ Zhang Fei [5] restored his body and transformed into his half-fox form. ”Unfortunately, youʼre wrong about that, Old Dragon. Iʼm not looking for trouble with those idiots, and I came to this realm just to open my shop, but they came to me to look for trouble with me.”

”A heavenly fox, right?”

”Thatʼs right.”

”Explain to me your situation with them.” Zhang Fei [5] then informed the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar about the matter between him and the Dragon Clan. ”The old dragons from my Dragon Clan are as arrogant as them, including me, but we have the ability to back up our arrogance. Those descendants of mine are cowardly dragons, but they dare to act arrogant, and they even gang up on a weak beast like you.”

”Hehe.” Zhang Fei [5] chuckled. ”At first, I thought you would help them, but instead, you insulted them and chased them away. Since you wonʼt intervene in this matter, I wonʼt be afraid of them.”

The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar let out a soft sigh. ”You should ignore pathetic cowards like them and focus on yourself, especially since the three mortal realms are not the end of our journey.”

”The Paradise Realm, right?” The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon avatar was surprised to hear that from Zhang Fei [5]. ”I have some acquaintances from that realm, and I will go there in the future. However, there are so many people on my side, so I want to gather a lot of cultivation resources for us to procure before we go there, and one of them is to open a shop in this realm. By the way, my name is Zhang Fei, Old Dragon.”

”Long Wuzhao.” Zhang Fei [5] suddenly remembered an item and took it out immediately before showing it to him. ”Oh? Where did you get this Celestial Dragon Token?”

Zhang Fei [5] told him directly. ”An old friend of mine, Tianshi Shengjie, gave it to me. Since you are the ancestor of all dragons, the celestial dragons are also your descendants, right?”

”So, you are the man in the ten-tailed foxʼs prophecy.” Zhang Fei [5] looked at Long Wuzhao in surprise. ”I was the one who sent Little Shengjie to the three mortal realms to look for the foxʼs successor, but I didnʼt expect her to find you so soon.”

”I know the reason you are looking for me, but I am not interested in it yet, especially since I am still weak.” Zhang Fei [5] then asked Long Wuzhao. ”Whatʼs the deal with the Calamity Demon Dragon? Why did you seal it under this mountain? Why didnʼt you kill it directly?”

”Like Yang and Yin, my birth represented Yang, and Long Zhaihuoʼs birth represented Yin. All of his powers were related to destruction, and his calamity tribulation techniques were terrifying.” Long Wuzhao shot out his golden qi slightly, and several screens made of it appeared before them. ”In the past, our strengths were equal, but I was never truly able to defeat him. Even with the help of the other ancient beasts, I still couldnʼt kill him.”

Those Qi screens showed so much destruction caused by the Calamity Demon Dragon, and many realms were destroyed because of him. Zhang Fei [5] was horrified and amazed at the same time, and all the destruction gave him an idea of the immense strength of the Calamity Demon Dragon.

Long Wuzhao spoke to Zhang Fei [5] again. ”All the events you saw happened several million years ago, long before I ascended to the Paradise Realm. When the time came for me to ascend, I could not possibly let Long Zhaihuo destroy the three mortal realms, so I tried to create a sealing formation to seal him. With the help of all the ancient beasts, I succeeded in creating it, and we used it to seal him in this realm. To prevent other living creatures from discovering his existence, we deliberately placed this mountain above his seal, and I built this shrine to monitor him.”

”Is Long Zhaihuo still alive now?”

Long Wuzhao nodded at Zhang Fei [5]. ”Long Zhaihuo is still alive inside my seal, but he is much weaker than in the past. Despite this, he is still capable of bringing great calamity to the three mortal realms, so we cannot let him go free. He must have a lot of hatred in his heart, and he will destroy everything if he is freed from my seal.”

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei [5] agreed with that. ”If I were in Long Zhaihuoʼs position, vengeance and hatred would definitely fill my heart and mind, and I would destroy everything in front of me if I managed to break free. Did you place other formations in the seal room?”

”Yes.” Long Wuzhao then warned Zhang Fei [5]. ”Youʼd better put away your idea to go to Long Zhaihuoʼs seal room, or his hatred will affect you, and you will become more evil than him, especially with the cursed demon heart in your body.”

Zhang Fei [5] turned to Long Wuzhao in surprise. ”How did you know the demon heart was in my body?”

”I killed the demon, so Iʼm familiar with his aura.” Long Wuzhaoʼs answer shocked Zhang Fei [5]. ”I wanted to destroy his heart, but someone stole it from me. Iʼve been looking for the culprit for a long time but failed, and I didnʼt expect that it was in your body now. If you werenʼt the ten-tailed foxʼs successor, I would kill you along with the heart.”

”Hahaha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed wryly. ”I guess Iʼm lucky? Can you please teach me how to control this cursed demon heart?”

”The only way for you to control the cursed demon heart is to not lose your humanity, so you must continue to maintain your humanity.” Long Wuzhao dispelled all the Qi screens. ”My time is up, so I will leave now, and I will wait for you in the Dragon-Soaring Divine Domain.”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded to Long Wuzhao. ”I will definitely meet you there after I ascend to the Paradise Realm.”

”Farewell for now, Zhang Fei.” Long Wuzhao immediately disappeared from that place.

Since there was nothing there, Zhang Fei [5] immediately returned to the outer hall and stood in front of the statue of the Calamity Demon Dragon. ”If this dragon was that strong in the past, why didnʼt the old fox kill him? The will of the universe tells me that his strength is on par with the two primordial beasts, so he should be able to kill him.”

[Master, the ten-tailed fox could predict your birth, so I think he has a special plan for the Calamity Demon Dragon, and he deliberately left him for you.]

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei [5] raised an eyebrow.

[The Calamity Demon Dragon is as powerful as the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, and if you can inherit his power, you will become as strong as him. Moreover, Long Zhaihuo has been sealed under this mountain for a long time, and his strength has weakened a lot, so I think you can absorb his strength. However, we cannot ignore Long Wuzhaoʼs warning. I fear that his hatred and resentment will affect your cursed demon heart, turning you evil.]

Zhang Fei [5] pondered for a moment before departing from the shrine, heading directly to the secret passage and descending the staircase.

Outside the mountain, the other leaders of the mythical beasts gathered in the air, and their attention was still focused on several areas of the mountain.

”Have any of you managed to find the entrance?” Yan Jinwu asked the others.

All of them shook their heads in response. Dai Hubai then spoke to them. ”I donʼt know what Long Aotian did on the mountain, but the dragon roar earlier was definitely not that of an ordinary dragon, and my bloodline was trembling in fear because of it.”

”The source of the roar came from the sky, and legend has it that the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon once lived there in the past.” Wang Guzhe spoke while looking towards the mountain top, but the thunderclouds blocked his view.

Huli Haohao also looked in that direction. ”Do you guys think the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon still lives there and the previous roar belongs to it?”

”Impossible.” Yuwen Xingzuan objected with a shake of his head. ”If the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon was still on the mountain peak, we would have been able to sense its aura long ago.”

”I agree with Xingzhuan.” Nu Qichen joined in. ”For millions of years, the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon has never appeared in the upper realms, and the Dragon Race has always believed that it has already ascended to the higher realm.”

”Isnʼt the higher realm just a myth? People from our main clans have tried looking for it, but their efforts have never been fruitful.” Feng Qingmeng spoke.

ʼThe higher realm really does exist, and Feng Yao knows the way to go there.ʼ All of them immediately turned to Zhu Lingyao. ʼMy sister told me that our cousin and the others went to a tower in the middle realms a few months ago, and Empress Feng said that the tower was the key to going to the higher realm. However, they have not found out the truth, and they have left halfway, especially since the Xianjin Realm is facing great danger.ʼ

”What kind of tower is that?”

Zhu Lingyao told them directly. ʼThe Sun Tower, and it is located in the Blossom Heaven Realm, one of the planets in the middle realms. If you are interested, you can try going to that realm to challenge the tower, but you must bring a lot of people to do so.ʼ

”I canʼt go anywhere for now, especially since Long Aotian is thinking of waging a war with my Phoenix Clan.” They were not surprised by Feng Qingmengʼs revelation, considering the Phoenix Clanʼs relationship with Zhang Fei, and he humiliated the Dragon Clan. ”Iʼll go back now.”

After Feng Qingmeng left, the other leaders also returned to their respective places, except for Zhu Lingyao. She stood there alone and stared at the location of the entrance to the secret passage. ʼI previously detected that kidʼs presence there, and the entrance should be in that area.ʼ
