Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 390: Feng Yao Arrives

Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxia had already arrived at the Zhang Clan, and they unhesitatingly destroyed all of the clanʼs protection formations. Upon entering the clan, they immediately frowned, especially since the clan was completely empty; even the guards and servants were gone. They exchanged confused glances, but they were sure that Zhang Fei had done something to move them to a safe place.

However, Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxia were confused as to how Zhang Fei managed to do it, especially since they couldnʼt sense the presence of another heavenly fox besides their group. ”Tian Jiyuan said he had the same invisibility ability as Ancestor Baitian, so he couldnʼt sense his presence or aura.

I think he actually returned to this realm a long time ago, and he might be monitoring our movements in an invisible state.”

”Then, why doesnʼt Zhang Fei move the members of the Shen Clan to a safe place?” Tian Jianxia asked in a doubtful tone. ”After all, that clan is his in-law, but he allowed Jiyuan to beat them up, so I doubt that he has returned to this realm. Maybe someone else is helping him monitor our movements, but we never noticed it.”

”Hmm?” After he heard that, Tian Cheng fell into thought, but he had no other guesses besides that, especially since they couldnʼt track Zhang Feiʼs whereabouts. ”Do you think there are people in this realm who can monitor us without our knowledge?”

”These humansʼ cultivation is too low, so they wonʼt be able to trick us.” Tian Jianxia suddenly realized something. ”Hey! Arenʼt there some natural races living in this realm? Could it be that they are helping Zhang Fei monitor us?”

Tian Cheng nodded in agreement with that. ”There is a possibility, but we canʼt trace their aura, especially since they can disguise it by using the natural aura in this realm. However, Iʼm not sure that they will be willing to help him, especially since they should be sensitive to demon aura, so they will definitely know his identity as a demon.”

”Isnʼt his identity as a demon still just a guess?” Tian Cheng frowned at Tian Jianxia. ”His form does have demon characteristics, but we donʼt know the truth yet, especially since our ancestors didnʼt tell us anything.”

Tian Cheng could only sigh as he looked around the Zhang Clanʼs residence area. ”Forget it; we have to find the people from this clan first, so we can use them to force him out, and we will capture him directly.”

”Letʼs go.” As she walked to another area of the Zhang Clan to look for their members, Tian Jianxia replied. Meanwhile, Tian Cheng looked for them in other areas.

After searching the entire clan for quite some time, Tian Jianxia and Tian Cheng still couldnʼt find any members of the Zhang Clan, so they went to the last area, which was the location of the clanʼs secret chamber.

However, Tian Jianxia and Tian Cheng suddenly sensed a powerful aura moving towards them, so they immediately flew to the highest area of the clan as they took out their respective weapons, and they also released their strength because they could feel that the aura did not belong to their members.

As she held her long spear, Tian Jianxia looked towards the source of the aura, and she spoke to her brother with a frown. ”The owner of this is clearly a mythical beast like us, but our ancestors never said anything about the existence of another mythical beast in this realm, and Tian Jiyuan doesnʼt seem to know about it either.”

”Yeah, youʼre right.” Tian Cheng nodded as he tightly held the hilt of his white sword. ”This mythical beast has incredible speed, and I can feel that it has a powerful fire element.”

Tian Jianxia frowned even more after hearing that. ”In this universe, there are only three mythical beasts that possess a powerful fire element. They are the flame dragon, vermilion bird, and phoenix, so this mythical beast should be one of them.”

”Itʼs here.”

In a few seconds, Feng Yao had arrived before them, which shocked Tian Jianxia and Tian Cheng, especially since she arrived in her beast form, the fire phoenix.

Feng Yao immediately returned to her human form and coldly inquired. ”What are you two heavenly foxes doing in this realm? Isnʼt your race living in the Heavenly Moon Realm now? Why did you guys destroy this clanʼs protective formations?”

”We came to this realm specifically to look for Zhang Fei, and we heard that one of his wives is a member of this clan, so we came here to look for them.” Tian Jianxiaʼs answer made Feng Yao a little surprised. ”Whatʼs your relationship with this clan? Do you know where they are now? We must find him and bring him to our realm, or our ancestors will punish us.”

Feng Yao was confused about their purpose in looking for Zhang Fei. ”Why are you looking for him? As far as I know, he is just an ordinary human, and his cultivation is still very low, so he canʼt possibly look for trouble with your race.”

Instead, Tian Cheng turned to ask Feng Yao. ”Do you really not know that Zhang Fei is a mythical beast like us? In fact, he is a heavenly fox like us, and our ancestors discovered his existence in this realm after he sent Pang De to our realm. Thatʼs why they sent us here to take him away to our realm, so please tell us if you know his whereabouts.”

”Unfortunately, I have never met Zhang Fei, so I donʼt know that he is a heavenly fox like you guys.” Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxia looked at Feng Yao in disbelief. ”Itʼs up to you whether you want to believe me or not, but Iʼve told you the truth. Even if I knew about his whereabouts, I still wouldnʼt tell you, especially since he is my sisterʼs husband.”

”What?” Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxia exclaimed in shock. ”Does that mean the Zhang Clan members are phoenixes like you?”

”No.” Feng Yao answered by shaking her head. ”Even though they arenʼt phoenixes like me, I gave my bloodline to Zhang Feiʼs wife, so she is my sister, and this clan is my family. Thatʼs why I will stop you if you want to harm them, and you better think twice if you do, or else Iʼll beat you up.”

”Do you think weʼre afraid of you?” Tian Jianxia asked as she pointed her spear at Feng Yao. ”Weʼre both mythical beasts, so your bloodline will be useless against us. Moreover, your cultivation is only in the saint realm, and our cultivation is in the quasi-divine realm, so you are not our opponent.”

”Haha! I donʼt understand why Tian Baitian and Tian Baixing sent ignorant brats like you two.” Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxia frowned when Feng Yao mentioned their two ancestors, but their expressions immediately turned into fear as soon as she released her aura. ”Have you both realized it now? Do you two still believe that you can fight me?”

ʼCrap! I didnʼt expect that her cultivation was already in the seven divine realms!ʼ Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxia screamed in shock in their hearts, but they immediately froze in place as soon as Feng Yao disappeared from their sight, and a red sword was already pressed against their necks from behind in just a split second. ʼShit! Her speed is extremely fast!ʼ

”If you guys donʼt want to die, then you two should go back to the Heavenly Moon Realm right away, and you can tell your ancestors that this realm is under the protection of my phoenix race.

Moreover, Zhang Fei is my sisterʼs wife, so he is my brother-in-law, and I will never hesitate to kill anyone who dares to hurt my family, including you heavenly foxes.” Feng Yao then spread her senses to all corners of the Sky Jade Realm before speaking to them again. ”Anyways, you guys better not test my patience, and you should also bring your friends back there.

Otherwise, I will go to their place to cripple their cultivation, and I will send them back to that realm by myself.”

Feng Yaoʼs threat caused cold sweat to quickly soak Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxiaʼs bodies, and both of them swallowed their saliva hard. However, she immediately withdrew her red sword from their necks, along with her aura. ”Leave!”

Without saying anything, Tian Cheng and Tian Jianxia immediately fled the Zhang Clan using their teleportation abilities, and they also contacted their friends to gather in the western region as soon as possible. Tian Jiyuan and Tian Dan seemed confused by their request, so they explained to the two about Feng Yaoʼs presence, and they immediately rushed back to the region.

Feng Yao did not move from her spot as she monitored the movements of the heavenly foxes with her senses, but their earlier conversation about Zhang Fei caused all kinds of questions to arise in her mind. ”I didnʼt expect that my brother-in-law was a heavenly fox like them, but he made a stupid mistake by sending Pang De to their realm.

Tian Baitian and Tian Baixing always harbored the ambition to evolve to ten-tails like the ten-tailed fox, and I believe their decision to send those brats to capture him had something to do with it. However, I donʼt understand why they targeted him, especially since his cultivation was too low, so he should be of no use to them.”

”Youʼre wrong about that, phoenix princess.”

”Hmm?” Feng Yao immediately turned to the woman, who had just appeared by her side. ”Why did you suddenly come here, Zuhe?”

”Haha.” Zuhe, the undine raceʼs leader, chuckled in response. ”Oliver ordered us to help these humans monitor the movements of those heretics, and this is because of Zhang Fei.”

”Oh?” Feng Yao was surprised by Zuheʼs answer. ”Do you know anything about Zhang Fei? Why are those heavenly foxes targeting him?”

Zuhe nodded to Feng Yao. ”You have never been to the deepest area of our sub-realm, so you never knew about the ten-tailed foxʼs statue, let alone the writing he left on the stone monument.”

”What do you mean by that? Does that writing have anything to do with Zhang Fei?” Feng Yao inquired, raising an eyebrow.

”In fact, Zhang Fei is the successor of the ten-tailed fox.” Zuhe then told Feng Yao about the inscription on the stone monument, which shocked her. ”Honestly, I havenʼt met him in person, but Oliver and the others have met him some time ago, and he indeed has the same characteristics as the inscription: a human, a heavenly fox, and a demon.

Thatʼs why they brought him there, and he managed to summon the ten-tailed foxʼs soul imprint. He then gave him a tiny portion of his soul before disappearing, which proves that he is indeed his successor.”

Feng Yaoʼs expression turned serious as she nodded in understanding. ”No wonder Tian Baitian and Tian Baixing were so eager to get Zhang Fei, especially since they should know about the inscription on the stone monument. After all, their arrogance was too high, so they would never allow another heavenly fox to surpass them, and they want to kill him before he evolves into ten-tails.”

”Yes.” Zuhe then told Feng Yao again. ”However, it is not easy for Zhang Fei to evolve to ten-tails, especially since he needs the hearts of both of his descendants to be able to evolve, and the next ten-tailed fox will be born if he can do so.”

”I didnʼt expect that the condition for the return of the ten-tailed fox would be so bad, and Zhang Fei had to kill them for that to happen.” Zuhe agreed with Feng Yao by nodding repeatedly. ”Haha! This is really funny!

Tian Baitian and Tian Baixing have always dreamed of evolving to ten-tails, but their dreams will never come true, especially since their hearts are the requirement for them to be able to do so.”

Zuhe shook her head at Feng Yao. ”They probably donʼt know that requirement yet, so they havenʼt done anything to each other. If they knew that requirement, the situation would change, and they might kill each other to make their dreams come true.”

”Yeah, youʼre right.” Feng Yao then looked up at the sky. ”Tian Baixing might not have the heart to kill her brother, but Iʼm sure that Tian Baitian wouldnʼt hesitate to kill her if he really needed her heart to evolve into ten-tails. If he successfully evolves into ten-tails, he will definitely move immediately to attack the other mythical beasts, so I hope he never succeeds in doing so.”

”Even if Tian Baitian successfully evolves into ten-tails, he wonʼt be as strong as the original ten-tailed fox. After all, heʼs a pure heavenly fox, so he doesnʼt have three identities like Zhang Fei, and he doesnʼt have his soul either.” Feng Yao didnʼt dismiss Zuheʼs words, but she knew that the ten-tailed was very strong, so she couldnʼt underestimate him.

”Anyway, why donʼt you get rid of those heretics right away? Your cultivation has already reached the seven divine realms, so you should have been able to clear them out long ago, but you never made a move against them.”

Feng Yao turned to Zuhe with a smile. ”Like those heavenly foxes, I have my own arrogance, and I will never kill those weaker than me. Moreover, this realm will be too peaceful if I get rid of those heretics, and the cultivators in this realm will not have the ambition to become strong, which will hinder their development.

Even if they succeed in becoming strong, they will never be ready to face the higher cultivation worlds with a weak mentality. Thatʼs why I let them continue to roam freely, and I want these people to take care of them by themselves, so they will be ready to live their new life in the middle and upper realms.

However, the situation might change with Zhang Feiʼs presence in this realm, especially since he has done so many things against them, and those heretics began to crumble one by one because of him.”

”Iʼve heard about some of Zhang Feiʼs actions from Oliver.” Zuhe said that while nodding. ”However, he is still too young now, and his mindset is still not fully mature, so he still makes mistakes too often, including sending Pang De to the realm of the heavenly foxes.”

”Well? Nothing can be achieved instantly in this world, and everyone needs a process to reach maturity. Sometimes we need a lot of sacrifices to achieve it, but not everyone can persevere through the process, and many of them fail.

Zhang Fei is still too young now, but he will continue to grow, and his mentality will become fully mature if he always learns from his mistakes.” Feng Yao then looked towards the Zhang Clan. ”You can do your duty, and I will go meet them before returning to the demon cave.”
