Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 367: Heavenly Foxes

*Swoosh... Swoosh...*

Oliver and the leaders of the natural races immediately moved in front of Zhang Xiaolong as soon as he landed and returned to his human form, and he immediately spoke to them. ”Thank you! Thanks to all of your help, I was finally able to get rid of Pang De, and his disappearance will weaken those heretics.”

”No need to thank us.” They responded in unison, but Sabina then questioned Zhang Xiaolong. ”How can you speak and command those trees? Moreover, you can create an artificial forest in a matter of seconds, and they continue to regenerate even if that guy keeps destroying them.”

(A/N: Iʼm not writing about the other natural races at once; otherwise, this chapter will be an info dump.)

ʼMost of them are exceptional because they have broken through to the sovereign realm, especially Sabina and Elmyra. Although some of them havenʼt broken through to that stage, they are still as strong as Shen Xueyi.ʼ Zhang Xiaolong then answered the Dryadʼs leader. ”I have a special ability that allows me to mimic other demon abilities, and I get these abilities from the Dryads in other realms.”

Sabina was really surprised by Zhang Xiaolongʼs answer, but she didnʼt know whether to believe him or not, especially since she didnʼt know much about demons, let alone their abilities. ”Does that mean you can also copy our abilities?”

”Unfortunately, I canʼt do that, especially since you all arenʼt demons.” Sabina nodded in understanding at Zhang Xiaolong. ”Anyway, I want-”

”No need.” Sabina immediately interrupted Zhang Xiaolong. ”You donʼt need to ask me that, because Zefyr has already told me about Lillea and her kin, and I am willing to accept them in my circle, so you can bring them here once they are ready.”

Sabinaʼs answer made Zhang Xiaolong feel relieved, especially since he did not want the Dryads in the Diyu Realm to continue suffering, and he gratefully turned to Zefyr.

”How about you come with us to our sub-realm?” Oliver abruptly questioned Zhang Xiaolong, causing the other leaders of the natural races to look at him expectantly. ”Honestly, we still have many questions about you, and we can discuss these in a more relaxed manner. In addition, we also want to take you to the ten-tailed fox monument, and you will surely understand the reason later.”

”Sure.” Zhang Xiaolong naturally would not reject them, especially since he himself was also curious about the ten-tailed fox, especially about its story. ”I plan to enter seclusion after this; letʼs go now.”

As he swallowed several healing pills and other pills to recover his injuries from the previous attacks, Pang De looked at the surrounding area with a shocked expression. The place was bright, but there were no buildings in sight, only a stretch of green fields filled with various types of plants. ʼFuck! What is this place? Could that bastard send me to another realm?

Moreover, the qi flow in this place is extraordinarily strong when compared to the Sky Jade Realm. Tch! Although I donʼt know anything about this place, I can take advantage of its quality and quantity of qi to increase my cultivation, and I will return to that realm after I become truly strong.ʼ

Unfortunately, Pang Deʼs hopes would never come true, and a powerful aura suddenly pressed down on him from above, causing his body to partially sink into the ground. ʼShit! Who owns this aura? This aura is too strong! Even the demonʼs aura isnʼt that strong!ʼ

In a matter of seconds, countless white foxes rushed towards Pang De, surrounding him directly. Their appearance was strikingly similar to Zhang Feiʼs fox form, albeit with varying numbers of tails, ranging from one to eight.

ʼHow could there be so many beast foxes in this place? Moreover, I canʼt sense the cultivation of most of them, which means their cultivation is much higher than mine.ʼ Pang De muttered in shock as his eyes watched those white foxes, but his expression turned to fear once he saw the two nine-tailed white foxes flying towards him, and the look in their light-blue eyes was so fierce. ʼCrap!

Those two must be their leaders! Even though they are a little far away, their aura really suffocates me, and I feel that I will die at any moment.ʼ

Before long, the two white nine-tailed foxes had arrived above them, and their size was truly humongous, which frightened Pang De further, especially when they glared fiercely at him.

One of them then landed in front of Pang De, immediately wrapping one of its tails around his body, lifting him high, and using its other tail to touch his forehead. ”Hmm?”

ʼWhat kind of information did you find in his memories, Tian Baixing?ʼ The other white nine-tailed fox asked.

Hu Baixing immediately looked up and answered via voice transmission. ʼTian Baitian, this human is a heretic, and he came from the heaven wilderness realm. Anyway, the man who sent this guy here is called Zhang Fei, and he has characteristics like our race, but he only has four tails.

In addition, he possesses both human and demon characteristics, and he has the ability to combine all three into a new form.ʼ

ʼOh?ʼ Tian Baitian looked surprised to hear that, but he then nodded in understanding. ʼThe inscription on the monument has finally come true, huh? If that is really true, Zhang Fei is destined to be our ancestorʼs successor, so the ten-tailed fox will return to this universe once again.ʼ

ʼWhat do you think if we go to the heaven wilderness realm to meet Zhang Fei?ʼ Tian Baixing asked Tian Baitian. ʼIf he is really destined to be our ancestorʼs successor, then we must kill him before he reaches our level. Otherwise, he will be a terrifying scourge for us, and he might suppress us in the future, especially since he has his demon side.ʼ

ʼNo need.ʼ Tian Baitian immediately rejected Tian Baixingʼs idea. ʼI also donʼt want to be pressured by anyone, but the heaven wilderness realm will be destroyed if we go there. Moreover, it wonʼt be easy for Zhang Fei to evolve to ten-tails, and he needs a special item to achieve it, which he can only get in our realm.

Even if he can reach the nine-tails and come to our realm, he will never be able to defeat us, and we can kill him when he comes here.ʼ

After hearing that, Tian Baixing let out a soft sigh, especially since Tian Baitian was much more arrogant than her, and he had always thought that no other beast could surpass them, so he had always looked down on them. ʼHow about we send some of our young generations to that realm?

That way, we can monitor Zhang Fei, and the heaven wilderness realm will not be destroyed either, especially since their cultivation is still in the ten mortal realms.ʼ

Tian Baitian raised his eyebrows as soon as he heard that, but he then turned to look at the countless heavenly foxes below him. After considering Bai Tian Baixingʼs idea, he immediately opened a portal before ordering two foxes with four tails behind their hips.

”Tian Gongzhu and Tian Wangzhi, the two of you will arrive at a realm called the heaven wilderness realm after you enter the portal, and that realm is our original realm before we bring you all to this realm. Baixing will give you both a picture of a man named Zhang Fei, and I want you guys to keep a close eye on him. Do you both understand?”

”Yes, Ancestor Baitian!” Tian Gongzhu and Tian Wangzhi answered in unison, and they immediately entered the portal after Tian Baixing gave them Zhang Feiʼs description.

Tian Baitian then spoke to Tian Baixing. ”Since Zhang Fei sent this heretic here, I think he doesnʼt want him to die, so you can lock him up in that place and let the light purify his darkness.”

”All right.” Tian Baixing directly placed a seal on Pang Deʼs cultivation before taking him away to another place, and the countless heavenly foxes immediately dispersed.

However, Tian Baitian did not leave the place immediately as he looked towards the portal, but he then closed it before flying away. ʼWhat exactly do you want, ancestor? Back then, you split yourself into me and Baixing, but you also restricted us, so we could never evolve into ten-tails. Instead, you left behind that inscription, and you said that another beast would be your successor.

In all these thousands of years, I never believed that it would come true, but fate said otherwise, and your future heir has appeared. Since you chose Zhang Fei over us, then I will kill him in the future, so your heir will never exist in this universe, and no other living being can suppress us.ʼ

Tian Gongzhu and Tian Wangzhi had already arrived at the Sky Jade Realm, and they appeared right in front of the western forest. However, both of them felt regretful as soon as they arrived there, especially because the quality and quantity of qi in the realm were too awful for them, who were born in the upper realms.

They then changed into their half-fox form, which had long white hair. Tian Wangzhi became a young man in his twenties, and Tian Gongzhu became a young woman in her twenties, too. They have light blue eyes, two fox ears, and four fox tails behind their hips, similar to Zhang Fei.

”So, where should we look for that man named Zhang Fei?” Tian Gongzhu asked as she looked around their surroundings. ”If I remember correctly, this forest should be the residence of our ancestor, the ten-tailed fox. How about we go inside to see his statue first?”

”No.” Tian Wangzhi immediately rejected Tian Gongzhuʼs idea. ”This realm is too disgusting, and our cultivation will slow down if we stay in it for too long. Thatʼs why it would be better if we went to the nearest city to find out information about Zhang Fei, and we would immediately report everything to Ancestor Baitian, so we could return to our realm as soon as possible.”

Tian Gongzhu let out a soft sigh before nodding to Tian Wangzhi, and they immediately flew away from the western forest for the heavenly sword city.

After they arrived at the fairy forest, Oliver and the leaders of the natural races immediately took Zhang Xiaolong to the deepest area of their sub-realm, where the statue and monument of the ten-tailed fox were located.

Zhang Xiaolong immediately approached the statue and read the writing, but he could not read it, especially since the ten-tailed fox wrote it in ancient language.

Oliver then told Zhang Xiaolong about the writing on the monument, but he was no longer surprised to hear it, especially since Zefyr had told him before.

[Master, try using your fox form and channeling your light qi and heavenly fox aura into the statue.] Mei suddenly conveyed her idea to Zhang Xiaolong, especially since she detected something in it, and she was sure that it had something to do with the ten-tailed fox.

Zhang Xiaolong raised his eyebrows for a moment before following Meiʼs words, and the leaders of the natural races immediately knelt on one knee as soon as he transformed into the four-tailed heavenly fox; even their expressions were full of excitement.

Zhang Xiaolong then touched the statue with his front paw, and he channeled your light qi and heavenly fox aura into it directly, which caused the area to be enveloped in strong pressure. Even the areaʼs ground was shaking violently, and the lakeʼs water was also jumping repeatedly.

ʼSo itʼs true; the ten-tailed fox left his soul imprint in his statue, and only Zhang Fei can summon it.ʼ The leaders of the natural races muttered in their hearts.

Soon, the giant The ten-tailed foxʼs soul remnant appeared in front of them, and his figure filled almost the entire area. He then looked at Zhang Xiaolong with a serious gaze, causing him to tremble, especially since he looked deep into his soul. ”Hahaha! Iʼve been waiting for you for so long, and youʼve finally arrived before me, young fox.

A human, a demon, and a beast fox, just like in my vision in the past.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Xiaolong immediately changed to his half-fox form before asking. ”Did you write this inscription because of a vision you had while you were still alive?”

”Yes.” The ten-tailed fox nodded to Zhang Xiaolong. ”In fact, after you evolve to ten-tails, you will also gain that ability, but your ability will be superior to mine. However, a vision is different from a phropecy, but I canʼt explain the difference to you; youʼll understand it for yourself once youʼve evolved into ten-tails.”

Zhang Xiaolong didnʼt think about it, especially since ten-tails were still far beyond his reach. ”Anyways, why did you sacrifice yourself by splitting yourself in two? You are one of the strongest living beings in this universe, and you should be able to go to the upper or highest realms with your power, so I find your decision very strange.”
