Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 295: Conversation

As she watched her husband and Zhang Chen, Dou Luotian asked the man who had just walked out of the portal that appeared on the wall of her room. ”What do you think of Zhang Fei, Micah? Do you think he can help us fight them?”

”Zhang Fei isnʼt bad, and he may be our key to stopping them. However, I feel something different from him, and he seems to be more terrifying than we imagined.” Micah then took out a sheepskin scroll, handing it to Dou Luotian.

”Those people have already started to move, and I heard that Janette has fallen into the hands of the Amaris Twins, so we need to act faster before they can absorb the power of the demon lord seed in her body. Otherwise, chaos will ensue, and they may take over the Diyu Realm.”

”Hmm?” Dou Luotian raised her eyebrows as she read the text on the scroll. ”Although I donʼt know Zhang Fei personally, I feel that he is not reckless but rather cunning and calculating, and he seems cautious in his actions. Janette had previously stayed by his side, and she was the one who brought him to the Diyu Realm, so he wouldnʼt be that calm if she fell into their hands.”

Micah asked her directly. ”Do you think that the Janette in the hands of the Amaris Twins is fake? In fact, Theo didnʼt see her in person; he heard about it from the white Amaris.”

”For now, thatʼs my guess, and we need more information to confirm.” Dou Luotian then turned to face Micah before continuing. ”However, I have a hunch that my guess is correct, and the only person who can give us an answer is Zhang Fei.”

”Are you thinking of talking to Zhang Fei directly?”

”Yes.” Dou Luotian replied with a nod. ”Iʼm not sure if heʼd be willing to meet and talk to us, especially after his reaction to my husband earlier, but we should still try to talk to him. After all, this matter will affect not only the future of the Tian and Diyu realms but also the future of the human realm, and I do not want my descendants to live in misery under their oppression.”

Micah nodded in agreement with that. ”In that case, we have to meet Zhang Fei now, or he will disappear again, and we donʼt know when he will come back here.”

After she sent a message to her husband, Dou Luotian immediately left the Wang residence, and Micah flew with her towards Zhang Feiʼs location.

Zhang Fei, who was accompanying Tang Ziyu to lighten her mood, raised his eyebrows, particularly because he had used his senses to monitor Dou Luotian, allowing him to hear her conversation with Micah. ʼIt seems that something happened in the Tian Realm, and it might be related to the disappearance of the first demon lord, which is also the reason Oz faked his disappearance.ʼ

Noticing Zhang Feiʼs expression, Tang Ziyu immediately asked him. ”What are you thinking about, Feiʼer?”

”Two guests are coming soon, but we canʼt talk to them in this place, and we have to find a quiet place to talk to them.” Without asking further, Tang Ziyu let Zhang Fei take her to a quiet place where almost no one passed by.

Not long after they arrived there, Tang Ziyu was surprised by the appearance of Micah, who had just landed with Dou Luotian, and he stole a glance at Zhang Fei while muttering in his heart. ʼI shouldnʼt have been surprised by the angelʼs presence, especially since Feiʼer himself is an incubus.”

”Zhang Fei, I want to talk to you, and this matter is very serious.” Dou Luotian spoke directly without beating around the bush.

”I know the matter you want to talk to me about.” Dou Luotian and Micah were surprised to hear Zhang Feiʼs reply. ”I am indeed one of the earthlings, but their futures and lives are none of my business, especially since I donʼt know them, and they must be responsible for their own lives.

However, I am quite interested in matters in the Tian Realm, and I guess some of those winged races want to rebel, right?”

Dou Luotian let out a soft sigh and nodded to Zhang Fei. ”Honestly, the situation in the Tian realm is no longer like it was in the past, especially after the first demon lord obtained the ten demon lord seeds. The higher-ups have always been afraid of his strength, and their ambition to eliminate the demons has grown stronger.

Their ambition extends beyond conquering the Diyu Realm; they also aspire to seize control of the Xian and Human Realms, and they have already made preparations for this. Many of us oppose their decision, particularly because it will disrupt the balance between the four realms.

The people of the Xian Realm will be unable to remain silent, which could lead to great chaos in the human realm if the battle between them erupts.

”Let me ask you one thing.”

”What do you want to ask us?”

”Is the first demon lord in your raceʼs hands?”

”No.” Micah responded to Zhang Fei with a head shake. ”My higher-ups did plan to capture the first demon lord, but they never managed to do it.”

Micahʼs answer made Zhang Fei look at them doubtfully, especially since Oz suspected that the disappearance of the first demon lord had something to do with the people of the Tian and Xian Realms, and he also suspected that there was a traitor among the twelve rulers. ”If he is not in your hands, then where is he now? Are the Amaris Twins part of their plan?”

”Only the white Amaris.” Zhang Fei nodded slightly after Micah said that, which confirmed Ozʼs suspicions about him. ”Our higher-ups gave her something to use against the first demon lord, and they found it in a very ancient place, but that place no longer exists because they destroyed it.

Anyway, I donʼt know for sure about that thing, but I heard that it swallowed him and sent him to another place, so no one knows about his whereabouts.”

ʼHey, Mei, does the winged race have such an item? Or is that thing perhaps an artifact belonging to an ancient cultivator who once lived on earth?ʼ

[Master, I think the winged race in the Tian Realm should have been cultivators in the past, but after the Qi disappeared, they may have become non-cultivators, like the demons in the Diyu Realm. If this is indeed the case, they should have numerous artifacts, one of which they used against the first demon lord.]

ʼIf they have such artifacts, how can they activate them without Qi?ʼ

[Master, not all artifacts require Qi, and many of them can be used with other sources, such as jewels or others.]

ʼI see.ʼ Zhang Fei then asked them again. ”Who is the leader of the rebels?”

Dou Luotian shook her head at Zhang Fei. ”For now, I wonʼt tell you that personʼs identity, especially since it would jeopardize our plans if they found out his identity. However, I can assure you that he cares deeply about other living beings, be they demons or humans, so he founded the rebel group to stop their plans.”

Zhang Fei frowned after hearing that. ”To be frank, I am not interested in the problems among you, especially since I still have a lot of problems myself, and my enemies are much stronger than the people from the four realms. Even so, I still have interests on earth, so if they dare to cause chaos here, I might take action.

However, I will not directly be involved in these issues, and I will only intervene if the situation becomes truly chaotic.

Despite Zhang Feiʼs response not meeting their expectations, they expressed relief that he was willing to act. Micah then asked him. ”Can you show us your true strength?”

”Do you doubt me?” Zhang Fei posed this question as he activated his cultivation and used his killing intent to suppress Micah.

Not only Micah, but Dou Luotian also looked trembling after Zhang Fei did that, and sweat began to pour down their bodies.

Fortunately, Zhang Fei immediately retracted both of them, and he then said to them. ”For now, my strength may still not be enough to fight your higher-ups, but I can tell you that I have people who are much stronger than me, and some of them can stop those people.”

”All right, I understand, and I hope you are really willing to help us if a big mess happens here.” Zhang Fei did not respond to Dou Luotianʼs words. ”Anyway, is Janette in the hands of the Amaris Twins a fake?”

”Oh?” Zhang Fei was a little surprised by her question. ”I didnʼt expect that you could also get information from the Diyu Realm, but you are right that the Janette in their hands is a fake, and the real her is with my wives now.”

”Thatʼs good.” Dou Luotian and Micah felt relieved after hearing that, especially since they were worried that the Amaris Twins had managed to absorb the power of the demon lord seed in Janetteʼs body.

”Anyway, you donʼt have to worry about the Amaris Twins, especially since I will do something to them soon.” Dou Luotian and Micah looked at Zhang Fei with curious looks, especially since they knew that the twins were very strong, and their higher-ups also supported the white Amaris. ”Haha! You guys donʼt have to look at me like that, and Iʼm not doing this for anyone else.

I have my own goals for the twins, and youʼll find out the results soon.”

Dou Luotian and Micah could only sigh in their hearts because Zhang Fei did not want to open up to them, but Micah then told him. ”Anyway, the white Amaris often contacts one of them, and the person who usually goes to see her is Theo.”

”All right, leave that matter to me, and Iʼll do something about Theo too.” After they talked about a few other things, Micah immediately took Dou Luotian away from that place.

Tang Ziyu, who had been silently listening to them all along, finally asked Zhang Fei. ”Are you really going to help them?”

”Not really.” Zhang Fei replied while hugging Tang Ziyuʼs waist. ”You know what? I am a selfish person, and I have no concern for the safety or lives of others.

However, my safety and the safety of all of you are different, so I will do whatever it takes to ensure that we can live safely and peacefully, even if it means staining my hands with blood from all living creatures, whether they are humans, demons, angels, or beasts.

”Does that mean youʼve killed a lot?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei then told Tang Ziyu the truth about the identities of the people he had killed, which not only shocked her but also shocked You Bai. ”Honestly, I never intended to kill Zhang He, especially since he was my big brother, and I had given him several opportunities to change.

Unfortunately, he never wanted to change, and instead he conspired with many others to kill me, so I was forced to kill him.”

”Then what about the other people?”

Zhang Fei immediately hugged Tang Ziyu. ”You may think that Iʼm cruel, but the world of cultivation is much crueler than you can imagine. Despite not knowing each other, many of them attempted to kill me, motivated by their greed and jealousy. Thatʼs why I killed everyone who came to kill me, and I will continue to do so to ensure our safety.

As for the demons, I havenʼt killed a single one of them, and Iʼve only taken down numerous demon beasts. I might start killing them soon, but I will only kill those who try to kill me first.”

Tang Ziyu couldnʼt comment on that matter, especially since he himself wasnʼt a cultivator yet, so his knowledge of the cultivation world was almost non-existent. ”Feiʼer, you must always take good care of yourself, okay? You already have me and the others, and we would be sad if something bad happened to you.”

”Thatʼs for sure.” Zhang Fei kissed Tang Ziyuʼs lips briefly before continuing. ”I also want to continue living with all of you, and I want to have children with all of you in the future, so I will definitely take good care of myself.”

Hearing Zhang Fei mention children, Tang Ziyuʼs expression turned sad, especially since she had been married for ten years. Unfortunately, she was never able to conceive, so she doubted that she could give him a child.”

*Flick*

”Ouch! Why are you flicking my forehead?” Tang Ziyu complained while rubbing her forehead.

”Hehe.” Zhang Fei chuckled at that. ”Trust me, okay? Iʼll definitely get you pregnant when Iʼm ready to be a father.”

”Can you really do it?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei answered with a nod. ”You just need to wait for me to be ready, and youʼll have some children in the future.”

”All right, I will wait for the time to come.”

After that, Zhang Fei took Tang Ziyu to another place, and they spent some time together as they waited for Zhang Chen to finish reuniting with Wang Zetian.
