Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1895: Chapter 1897: Thank You for Understanding and Supporting Me

Qi Taiguo’s gaze suddenly changed, causing a bit of unease in Cheng Su’s heart. It had been quite pleasant initially, but why did his expression suddenly become so complex and inexplicable?

”What’s wrong?” Cheng Su grabbed his arm and said, ”Alright, if you say it’s not okay, then it’s not okay. How about I just buy him a small bed? You...”

Before she could finish her sentence, Qi Taiguo pulled her over into his arms, holding her tightly.

This sudden embrace left Cheng Su stunned, and her heart felt increasingly ominous. She wrapped her arms around his waist and back; ”What’s going on?”

”I’m sorry!” Qi Taiguo suddenly spoke above her head.

Upon hearing this, Cheng Su tried to push him away, but Qi Taiguo wouldn’t let her move. He wrapped her entirely in his embrace with both his arms and legs.

”Susu, you know, why I left you and Xiao Qi to go to Zhu City with a heavy heart and reluctance?” Qi Taiguo asked.

Cheng Su remained silent, and he continued, ”To forge a faster, higher, and steadier path. I know I’m not good enough, not strong enough. I come from humble origins and don’t have much power. So when you are bullied or threatened, my ability to fight back is so weak, or even nonexistent. Honestly, this feeling is terrible.”

Qi Taiguo let out a bitter smile; the feeling of being unable to protect his wife and child was truly terrible, pathetically weak.

”Long ago, I knew how it feels when skills are inferior to others, when one’s influence is not stronger than others; you just get suppressed, I knew this long ago.” Qi Taiguo said, ”I want you all to live in a happy and peaceful environment, I want you to be joyful, Susu, I need power, strength, to protect you.”

Cheng Su gently patted his back and said, ”I know, I know you are working hard, fighting hard, striving upward.”

”That’s not enough. I want to earn more confidence for you all, to have capital to flaunt, that’s why I went to Zhu City.” Qi Taiguo said: ”Going there means separating from you, but it’s a chance, a significant chance to advance quickly. I didn’t want to miss it, so I went.”

”Mm, we didn’t blame you.” Cheng Su thought he was resentful, explaining the reason he went to Zhu City.

Although she talked about reluctance, complained that he went so far away and separated from her and their child, in her heart, she understood, understood his ambitions.

Everything was just for them!

A man with ambition and aspirations wouldn’t be content to be mediocre and ordinary; Qi Taiguo was such a person.

Cheng Su herself had ideals and aspirations, and she worked hard for them, so how could she criticize Qi Taiguo’s ambitions? If he truly settled down for the sake of his wife and child, she’d find it unacceptable and disdainful!

A man with ambition and knows how to progress is the right match for Cheng Su.

Qi Taiguo kissed the top of her head and said, ”Thank you, Susu. Thank you for understanding and supporting me all these years.”

Cheng Su said, ”You, what are you getting emotional about? We’re husband and wife, and haven’t you always been supporting and understanding me too, even when I said I wanted to delay having children, you agreed!”

Qi Taiguo smiled, but will you continue to understand and support me in what I’m about to say?

”Susu, I truly want to be with you and Xiao Qi, always, always.”

Cheng Su was about to say, wait until you get transferred back to Guangcheng, then they could reunite as a family.

But Qi Taiguo’s words cut off her thought, making her scalp tingle!
