Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1869: Chapter 1871: Xiao Qi Complains

Ever since Cheng Su met Chiang Qing and heard what she said, she found herself deeply uneasy. After returning to Qing City, she acted a bit more cautious, glancing around at the people with a hint of suspicion. She wondered whether one of the people coming and going might be following her, taking photos under Chiang Qing’s orders.

With such apprehension and doubt, her mood hit rock bottom and her emotions were slightly out of control. She desperately wanted to see Qi Taiguo, seeking his reassurance.

People are like this; when there’s someone to rely on, they instinctively seek that support when things happen. Cheng Su was no different. Although a strong woman, she also had moments of vulnerability.

However, Qi Taiguo was not there.

Returning to the courtyard at Goodwill Place, Cheng Su felt a sudden sense of calm and composure upon seeing the gate.

She couldn’t let herself be influenced like this. If Chiang Qing really had someone investigating her, then appearing as anxious and unhinged as she felt would only amuse her more, making her feel as though she’d found a weak spot to exploit. That would put Cheng Su in a passive position, at the mercy of others.

Yes, she couldn’t let herself be swayed. Her life had nothing to hide. If Chiang Qing dared to do anything to her or Xiao Qi, she would transform into a lioness, pouncing to tear her to pieces.

With this thought, Cheng Su lifted her head, stood tall, and entered the courtyard, heading straight for her home.

She missed her son!

Knocking on the door, it was Father Qi who opened it. Seeing her return, he beamed with a smile: ”You’re back?”

”Dad, I’m back!” Cheng Su carried her things inside, looked around, and asked, ”Where’s Xiao Qi?”

As she walked through the small corridor, there was noise from the kitchen where Mother Qi was making dinner. Cheng Su greeted her and then saw Qi Xiaoqi rubbing his eyes as he came out of the room.

”Son!” Cheng Su’s heart filled with joy as she hurried over, scooping up her son, saying, ”Oh my, it’s only been a few days, how have you turned into such a little chubby one? You’re so heavy now, call me mom.”

Seeing her, Qi Xiaoqi mumbled, ”Mommy.”

”Ah. Good boy!” Cheng Su’s heart melted, and she gave him several big kisses on his cheek, leaving his face covered with saliva.

Qi Xiaoqi wiped his smooth face in disdain, frowning his small brows, and said, ”Drool, dirty!”

Hearing this, Cheng Su pretended to be angry: ”Oh really, it’s only been a few days and you already dare to dislike your mom, huh? When you were nursing, you slobbered all over me and did all sorts of things. Did I ever dislike you? I’m going to slobber, I just am!” With that, she went over and rubbed her mouth on his face a few times.

Qi Xiaoqi couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the ticklish sensation and then tried to act like a little grown-up, saying, ”You’re childish!”

Cheng Su glared at him, ”Childish huh? Who taught you that?” then looked at Father Qi: ”Grandpa, has he been well-behaved these past few days, or has he been mischievous?”

”Well-behaved, the most well-behaved, not a bit naughty.” Father Qi defended his grandson wholeheartedly: ”He just watched TV, didn’t go out to play or run around. We had such an easy time with him! He was just asleep and probably woke up knowing you returned. Mother and son are truly connected.”

Qi Xiaoqi looked proud.

”Children shouldn’t watch TV all the time; it’ll ruin their eyes,” Cheng Su gently poked his little face as she chided.

At this moment, Mother Qi came out of the kitchen. On seeing her, Qi Xiaoqi’s eyes lit up and he squeakily ’reported’ to Cheng Su, ”Mommy, grandma gave me some Divine Talisman Water to drink.”

Upon hearing this, the expressions on both Father Qi and Mother Qi’s faces changed dramatically, especially Mother Qi, who went pale and looked at Cheng Su with a bit of fear.

Cheng Su was stunned. Divine Talisman Water? What kind of nonsense is this?
