Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1891: Chapter 1893: You’re Siding with Your Wife

The New Year is typically a time for going back and forth with visits and drinks, but this year Cheng Su and the others are celebrating in Guangcheng, which means fewer social obligations. Cheng Su thinks this is perfect as she can spend more time with Qi Taiguo, enjoying each other’s company.

As for Father Qi and the others, Qi Jianguo and Qi Fengping take them out to play, visit parks, or just stay home and chat.

When they go out, Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo stay home with their son or visit the Cheng family to accompany Old Master Cheng, and time flies by quickly.

On the fifth day of the New Year, Qi Fenglian’s family comes to Guangcheng to celebrate and play. As they say, since they’ve never visited this big city before, they take this chance to explore and also to get acquainted with the place. This way, if Cheng Su and family move to Guangcheng, they won’t get lost when visiting relatives.

Qi Jianguo goes to the train station to pick them up and bring them home. Upon meeting, they exchange New Year greetings and red envelopes while sitting and talking at home.

”Since you guys aren’t home, I didn’t go back to the old house for New Year’s. I came to Guangcheng first, and plan to make up for it with a New Year gift to Second Uncle later,” Qi Fenglian said.

Mother Qi replied, ”Since this is your first year after remarriage, you should visit them. When you have time, go visit, so people won’t say you lack sincerity for not visiting even close relatives like Second Uncle for New Year.”

Chu Changxing said, ”Then after we go back, we’ll go home for New Year’s. After all, our own shop can open anytime.” He glanced at Cheng Su and continued, ”We also need to visit the in-laws.”

Indeed, Cheng Su’s family is so close; when they return, they should visit their relatives for the New Year. Keeping in contact strengthens relationships.

”Alright. Let’s enjoy a few days here before we head back!” Qi Fenglian said with a smile.

Mother Qi felt a bit sour inside, thinking that no one from the other side came to visit her, but she didn’t dare say it out loud.

Cheng Su, on the other hand, felt comforted; this new brother-in-law sure knows how to conduct himself.

With the five of them, coming to play isn’t a problem; the issue is with accommodations. Cheng Su’s home is too small, so they’ll have to stay in a hotel.

”Otherwise, we can sleep on the floor; staying in a hotel doesn’t seem proper,” Mother Qi suggested.

Sleep on the floor, in this cold winter? They’d freeze.

”Mom, staying in a hotel is comfortable; why sleep on the floor? It’s not proper even in summer, let alone in this cold winter. It’s been raining these past few days, damp and cold; sleeping on the floor will surely lead to a cold. Besides, the hotel is near our home, making coming and going quite convenient,” Cheng Su said with a laugh.

Qi Taiguo also chimed in, ”Right, staying in a hotel means a bed and blankets, much more comfortable. Sleeping on the floor would make you sick.”

Mother Qi pursed her lips and said nothing, only grumbling in her heart that he was siding with his wife!

Qi Fenglian said, ”Mom, staying in a hotel is good. We planned to stay in a hotel when we came. With so many people, there’s no way to fit in the house. Taiguo, we should stay in a hotel.”

”Yes, staying anywhere is fine, the main point is to visit you, the in-laws, and gather together,” Chu Changxing added with a smile.

”Alright then!” With her daughter and son-in-law saying so, Mother Qi had nothing more to add.

Cheng Su then said to Qi Taiguo, ”Later, I’ll go book the room?”

”I’ll go. It’s raining outside and freezing cold; stay home!” Qi Taiguo insisted on taking it upon himself.

Cheng Su thought for a moment, either way works. So she said, ”Then come back after booking; we’ll go out to eat.”

With so many people, it’s hard to cook at home.

Qi Taiguo went out to book the room, while Cheng Su saw Qi Xiaoqi yawning, so she took him for a nap.
